MediNotes Releases Charting Plus 4.5 Electronic Health Record Update
New features continue to escalate usability of popular EHR program, Charting PlusÂ
(PRWEB) February 5, 2005
MediNotes Corporation is pleased to announce the recent release of Charting Plus 4.5. This release marks the 8th upgrade to Charting Plus since its inception in 1997. Version 4.5 includes improvements to the existing functionality, as well as several new features that will benefit physicians and their staff. ÂMost of the enhancements made to this release of Charting Plus are a direct result of suggestions made by our clients, explains Don Schoen, CEO of MediNotes.
Having focused on the small market segment (1-10 physicians) MediNotes continues to expand the features of Charting Plus and now offers 16 specialties for physicians to choose from. Don Schoen added, ÂWe are continuing to make improvements to the program and simplifying the interface to ensure that it is effective and user-friendly.Â
Enhancements to Charting Plus 4.5
Charting Plus 4.5 includes various enhancements, including: improved control of left/right descriptors in ophthalmic objects, enhanced control of batch printing functionality, a more organized and readable way to import lab results, a new Object Navigator to facilitate easier use of Object Explorer, a graphical signature that can be used with a signature macro, and the ability to customize letterhead with graphics, fonts and other formatting.
The 4.5 release of Charting Plus also allows an integration with PrimetimeÂs Instant Medical History and several diagnostic packages from Welch Allyn.
Instant Medical History
The integration with Primetime Medical SoftwareÂs Instant Medical History enables patients to enter their own medical information electronically and, when completed, will populate the history and chief complaint sections of Charting PlusÂ.  By bringing the medical information directly into Charting Plus, Instant Medical History will save physicians, on average, 4 minutes per patient, states Matthew Ferrante, President, Primetime Medical Software.
Charting Plus integrates very tightly with IMH, allowing information to be imported as discrete data - identical to the data stored the programÂs native object structure. Instant Medical History is available through MediNotes Corporation.
Welch-Allyn ECG and Vital Signs
MediNotes Corporation has partnered with Welch-Allyn to bring physicians yet another way to spend more time with their patients. The Welch-Allyn Vital Signs interface allows physicians to obtain a patientÂs blood pressure, temperature, blood oxygenation and pulse, and pull the results into Charting Plus by simply selecting a Âcapture button. ÂThis interface is another time saver for our clients, states MediNotes CEO, Don Schoen. ÂIt adds speed and accuracy to tests that are already being conducted in most medical offices. The ECG interface captures the patientÂs ECG rhythm and stores it electronically for instant availability during future exams.
Welch Allyn equipment is available directly through Welch Allyn, while the interface can be purchased through MediNotes Corporation.
