Online Home Business Newbies Drowning in Information but Short on Facts

Online Home Business Newbies Drowning in Information but Short on Facts

More and more people are becoming disaffected with the daily grind of commuting to and from work. As the Internet creates new opportunities for earning a healthy income an increasing number of us are turning to the web to start a home business. But beginners to home working are facing information overload. What can be done to help?

(PRWEB) December 12, 2005

As road traffic increases year by year, and commuter trains become ever more crammed, the 'work from home' option is becoming increasingly appealing to more people. Some jobs lend themselves to working from home: journalism and bookkeeping for example, and many in these professions take advantage of the work at home option. But for the rest, there is no alternative to being at their place of work. But the Internet provides a possible way out.

With about 1.1 billion people on line in 2005 and another 700 million due to join soon, the Internet represents a marketplace of staggering proportions to anyone who wants to try to make money from it. But over 96.5% of Internet business startups fail within two years. The technology is so sophisticated and the jargon so baffling that people find it difficult to make a success of business in the competitive world of the Internet.

'We are thirsting for knowledge but drowning in information'

A recent survey of Internet business beginners shows that most of the home business help sites are too complex to be of use. 'These sites just overwhelm the visitor with huge amounts of repeated information, with no consideration of how it can be of assistance.' says Dr John Prendergast, an analyst of business startups. 'What work from home beginners need is a source of sequentially presented, easy to follow information on how to build an attractive website, how to odraw in lots of visitors and how to convert the stream of visitors into customers. It also needs to be impartial, the majority of sites have an alternative agenda of which users should be aware.'

We've tried to provide what people need at our own site, www. homebusinessdirectory. ws, and it seems to be filling a niche. We've cut out all the clutter and have had a lot of favourable comments.

So what can an Internet beginner expect to earn from their efforts? It varies enormously - the Web abounds with tales of complete beginners earning six-figure sums each month, within a few weeks of starting. There's no doubt that this sort of thing is achievable but it is exceptional. With a little imagination and effort, is should be possible to bring in between $500 and $1500 per month after three months.

'We can look forward to a strong growth in this sector' says Dr Prendergast, 'more and more people are beginning to realize that they can improve their lifestyle by working from home. People have always wanted to do it, it's just that the Internet now puts the dream within reach for those bold enough to grasp the nettle.'

Dr. John Prendergast studies Startup Internet Businesses and publishes his findings in a newsletter entitled "The HomeIncome Newsletter"

Corporations Eyeing Costa Rica Rentals for Meetings and Incentives

Corporations Eyeing Costa Rica Rentals for Meetings and Incentives

Financial pressures and industry trends boost exposure for boutique meeting venues.

San Jose, Costa Rica (PRWEB) August 8, 2009

Costa Rica has long been a popular destination for incentive travel, company events and business trips for both U. S. and Latin America-based corporations. Beach resort destinations like the Paradisus Playa Conchal and San Jose meeting locations such as the Real InterContinental and Ramada Plaza Herradura are well accustomed to handling these large corporate groups.

It is no secret that these hotels and other chains worldwide have been hit hard by streamlined corporate budgets. Under pressure to cut costs, companies are allocating less money for international travel, conventions and incentive trips. A new trend is emerging to adjust to these economic pressures. Instead of skimping on quality, money-conscious corporations are limiting their guest lists, which once reached upwards of 300, to more elite incentive-based trips for 30 or less.

What the Costa Rica lacks in terms of large-scale resorts and convention centers, it makes up for with an abundant supply of boutique hotels and luxury rentals. These properties are positioned to benefit from this trend by offering small meeting venues with amenities like audiovisual equipment, event planning and personalized service. Guests still include executives and top employees and clients; they just have to work harder to earn the invitation.

Such incentive groups seek a combination of business facilities, convenience and recreational activities. Golf, eco-tourism, shopping, and cultural or adventure tours are the top requested activities, all of which are plentiful in Costa Rica. With a tourism industry eager to find new sources of revenue, many small hotels and vacation rental operators in Costa Rica are already onboard to cater to the boutique business venue trend.

Case Studies

A Texas-based medical company recently hosted a 5-day reunion with 10 employees along Costa Rica's north Pacific Coast at Villa Buena Onda (www. mycostaricavilla. com), a private, all-inclusive, 7-bedroom ocean view property. They chose the property primarily due to its convenient location 20 minutes from the Liberia international airport, its size, scalable rates and full-time staff.

The group hosted daily meetings at the villa's second story, open air lounge with the Pacific Ocean as their backdrop. Despite the unique location, they still had access to meeting necessities such as wireless Internet, whiteboards and a projector. The privacy of the property allowed them to host their discussions in an informal atmosphere, promoting the flow of ideas. All the while, the full-time staff catered their all inclusive meals, drinks and snacks, permitting the group to focus completely on their meetings.

Villa Buena Onda Concierge, Dayana Villalobos, said that the Texas group was the third to host business meetings at the villa, while two other corporations hosted incentive trips. "The difference between the two is a very fine line" Villalobos said. "Both incentive groups and the companies that hosted meetings treated their time at the villa like a working vacation, enjoying private excursions and special activities for the employees in-between informal meetings."

For larger groups looking for a private business trip at a great deal, residential clubs like the Reserva Conchal in Guanacaste (www. vacationscostarica. com/hotels/Reserva_Conchal. htm (http://www. vacationscostarica. com/hotels/Reserva_Conchal. htm )) and the Los Sueños Marriott in Playa Herradura both offer privately owned rental condos. These have access to restaurants, golf courses and other 5-star club facilities. At Reserva Conchal, guests can reserve conference facilities seating up to 80 people, while still maintaining a boutique and personalized feel by renting separate condos in the same building or complex.

Locally-based multinationals are credited for starting the trend by utilizing the country's tourism infrastructure to their advantage, rather than sending top employees to Mexico or all-inclusive destinations that specialize in catering to groups of 200 or more. Airfare prices and health risks compelled many of these companies to turn their sights homeward. As a result, the local rental industry learned to embrace this niche market, and companies in major U. S. cities with direct flights to Costa Rica like Dallas, New York and Miami soon followed suit.

PrimeSuite EHR Software Solution Introduces New Advanced Allergy Module

PrimeSuite EHR Software Solution Introduces New Advanced Allergy Module

Unprecedented Features and Functionality Fully Integrated into Interoperable EHR Software Solution for ENT, Allergy Practices

Carrollton, GA (PRWEB) October 31, 2010

Greenway Medical Technologies, Inc. today announced the most advanced allergy module available in an integrated electronic health record (EHR) software solution for ear, nose and throat (ENT) and allergy physician practices. Developed in conjunction with a leading ENT and allergy testing and treatment practice, the Greenway® Allergy Module for PrimeSuite® provides unmatched allergy testing, serum creation, allergy shot record, lot maintenance and reporting functionality for today's ENT and allergy practice groups.

Greenway's Allergy Module for PrimeSuite, the company's integrated EHR software, practice management and interoperability solution, automates and streamlines the full spectrum of patient allergy treatment from the initial patient encounter through injection record tracking, and integrates all relevant data through billing and claims processing, including:
Tracking of allergens testing Serum development and auto filling of final serum sheet Lot administration and reporting Automated patient tracking to determine adherence to serum regimen

In addition, the new Allergy Module from Greenway provides unique digital charting on a per-patient basis:
Discrete data for reporting and analysis Vial details and allergen definition Injection site and dose amount Reactions, orders and comments Patient education availability

The new Greenway Allergy Module is currently in operation at co-developer Advanced ENT and Allergy, LLC, an eight-location, 14-provider practice based in Louisville, Ky. that serves close to 3,000 patients.

According to Michele Marry, allergy manager for Advanced ENT and Allergy, "Greenway's Allergy Module for PrimeSuite provides a level of functionality that surpasses any other system I am aware of. The reporting system allows us to track productivity, while the digital filling of the serum sheet is probably one of the most beneficial features. It used to take 30 minutes to hand write a serum recipe, and now the PrimeSuite Allergy Module does it in about a second,” said Marry.

"The new Allergy Module streamlines the entire documentation and patient charting process,” continued Marry. "From the first patient skin test all the way through to placement of the injection record, we never have to pull a paper chart, and we can easily track patients to determine when their serum expires so we can alert the patient. We could never do that electronically before.”

Tee Green, Greenway's President and CEO, pointed to the close relationship between the company's software developers and its customers as a key factor in creating the robust feature set of the new Allergy Module. "Greenway was founded on the principle that close cooperation between our own software developers and our physician practice customers is critical to our ongoing ability to meet their specific needs,” said Green. "The development of our new Allergy Module is another in the growing succession of collaborative relationships that have enabled us to succeed in helping improve the quality and effectiveness of healthcare providers in a wide range of specialties.”

The new Allergy Module will be available to new and existing PrimeSuite customers by the end of the year.

StrandVision Debuts Digital Signage Scheduler

StrandVision Debuts Digital Signage Scheduler

StrandVision LLC, a provider of Internet hosted digital signage services, today announced scheduling capabilities for its StrandVision Digital Signs.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (PRWEB) February 28, 2006

StrandVision LLC (http://www. strandvision. com (http://www. strandvision. com)), a provider of Internet hosted digital signage services, today announced scheduling capabilities for its StrandVision Digital Signs. The scheduler enables StrandVision digital signage subscribers to specify starting and ending dates along with times for each individual message that is distributed to viewing displays. This enables businesses and organizations to feature promotions aimed at particular audiences throughout the day, week or year.

Subscribers have the ability to target specific audiences at different times of the day, or days of the week. Each page can have a starting and ending time along with the day(s) of the week the message is to be displayed. Restaurants can now use one screen to display their specials and automatically replace mid-day lunch menu promotions with evening dinner menus; health clubs can feature mother/child information during their peak visiting hours after school and adult team schedules for other hours; banks can deliver employee messages before branches open and customer promotions during banking hours.

Using the date scheduler, subscribers can deliver different messages at different times of the month or year. For Instance, banks can feature loan rates at the correct start date to avoid premature announcements, which can result in confusion and potential advertising liability; grocery stores can time in-store specials to coincide with newspaper inserts and flyers; holiday messages can be set up to be replayed at the right time from year to year.

In addition, using the capabilities of StrandVision’s recently announced digital player (See release at: www. strandvision. com/?press0603 (http://www. strandvision. com/?press0603)), combined with additional channel/location subscriptions, subscribers can send custom messages to different digital displays at locations around the building or around the world. This feature, coupled with the scheduler, can be especially helpful for marketers who want to test promotional messages for product and demographic performance at different times of the day or month in various locations.

“Our customers have been requesting the ability to do more targeted signage playback,” said Mike Strand, StrandVision founder and CEO. “So, we designed a flexible, easy-to–administer scheduling system that allows subscribers to simply log into their accounts and select the dates and times for display. No need to send a request to a service company and wait for the update; no extra charge for the service; no delay – select the dates and times and it’s updated on the next screen refresh. This new scheduling capability fits our approach of simplicity, economy and timeliness with customer needs being top priority.”

Drink Detective Introduced To Las Vegas Market

Drink Detective Introduced To Las Vegas Market

Internet marketing and PR firm, LJP Marketing, introduces drink spiking detection kit to Las Vegas merchants in conjunction with Drug Rape Awareness Campaign

Huntington Beach Calif. (PRWEB) April 3, 2006

WayPoint Biomedical, Inc. (Other OTC: WYPH. PK) is announcing that their drink spiking (http://www. drinkdetectivelv. com) rapid test that detects over 60 different drugs commonly used for date rape and robberies is now available in Las Vegas.

Joe Perez, President/CEO of LJP Marketing, LLC discovered the Drink Detective (http://www. drinkdetectivelv. com)™ rapid test kit while researching Canadian Retail Pharmacy Chains for a client. The kit manufacturer, WayPoint Biomedical, Inc., had just received orders for test marketing the Drink Detective (http://www. drinkdetectivelv. com)™ in Canada. “I was so impressed by the product that I immediately contacted WayPoint for additional information,” states Perez, a life-long resident of Las Vegas, “Las Vegas is a playground for sexual predators and thieves who use these now detectable drugs, and methods of drink spiking (http://www. drinkdetectivelv. com), to perpetuate their crimes.” Perez continues, “It is time for Las Vegas residents, and especially tourists, to become more aware of this danger and to also provide them with a defense.”

Nearly all the most common drink spiking (http://www. drinkdetectivelv. com) drugs can cause partial or total amnesia. This makes apprehending these predators very difficult for law enforcement. Victims of drink spiking (http://www. drinkdetectivelv. com) are often unable to recall details of the attacker, the crime and when or where it occurred. In many cases, the victim has no idea a crime was committed and wrongly assumes they were over intoxicated by alcohol and may have just exhibited poor judgment.

The Drink Detective (http://www. drinkdetectivelv. com)™ is an easy to use, rapid test kit that can detect the presence of over 60 date rape drugs in seconds. Drink Detective™ kits are credit card sized, to remain discreet, and include a dropper for administering the test on 3 separate strips that test for different drugs. The drugs identified by the kit include gamma hydroxybuturate (GHB), ketamine (Special K), and more than 60 drugs in the benzodiazepine group, such as Rohypnol®, Valium®, Xanax® and Clonopin®.

According to WayPoint Biomedical President, Bret Hendzel, “We are extremely excited about what Mr. Perez has brought to the table in a very short period of time. He is currently coordinating a Drug Rape Awareness campaign in the City of Las Vegas for the entire month of April, which is nationally recognized as “Sexual Assault Awareness Month”. During this campaign, posters will be placed throughout town in establishments that serve alcohol, and drink safety cards will be distributed at public locations and in major hotels.” Mr. Hendzel adds, “In conjunction with WayPoint’s current Global Drink Spiking Awareness Campaign, a survey of 5,000 women will be conducted in local bars and nightclubs to ascertain additional drink spiking (http://www. drinkdetectivelv. com) statistics.”

LJP Marketing (http://www. ljpmarketing. com) will begin distributing Drink Detective™ rapid test products to Las Vegas hotels, bars, nightclubs and retail stores on April 3rd, 2006. Currently, there are no vendors of the Drink Detective™ in the City of Las Vegas. During pre-sale stages, LJP Marketing (http://www. ljpmarketing. com) has confirmed over 10,000 units requested and reports daily requests for high volume purchases. Perez explains, “The reason I chose to distribute this product was because my mother was a victim of drink spiking, so this hits home for me. We are excited about the early sales projections, but more so, very excited to be able to make a difference in the prevention of these crimes.”

Attitudes of Gratitude 10th Anniversary Edition Proves Gratitude is Good for You

Attitudes of Gratitude 10th Anniversary Edition Proves Gratitude is Good for You

In her Introduction to the 10th anniversary edition of "Attitudes of Gratitude," Ryan recounts current research that bolsters her original thinking - people who practice gratitude on a daily basis are, by and large, happier, healthier, and more effective in the world. She also shares with readers brand new, top 12 gratitude practices, which readers of the first edition and people she's taught and counseled over the years have provided to her.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 20, 2009

In Attitudes of Gratitude (Conari Press, April 2009), M. J. Ryan teaches readers how to unlock the fullness of their hearts and lives through the expression of gratitude. "Gratitude helps us to return to our natural state of joyfulness," she writes, "where we notice what's right instead of what's wrong. It makes us feel complete, that we have everything we need, at least in this moment."
