The Madonnatization of Retirement: Newly Revised Book Shows How Retirement Has Changed and What It Means to Americans

This year Madonna along with Prince, Caroline Kennedy and Sharon Stone will reach their 50th birthdays. And as more and more Americans reach age 50 and beyond, the thought of retiring at 55 or even 65 in the old, traditional sense, is the furthest thing from their minds. In the newly revised, third edition of The New Retirementality: Planning Your Life and Living Your Dreams... At Any Age You Want (John Wiley & Sons, July 2008), financial philosopher Mitch Anthony explains why the old way of retiring is irrelevant and why retirement should be, well, retired.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) August 12, 2008

This year Madonna along with Prince, Caroline Kennedy and Sharon Stone will reach their 50th birthdays. And as more and more Americans reach age 50 and beyond, the thought of retiring at 55 or even 65 in the old, traditional sense, is the furthest thing from their minds. Like the Queen of Reinvention she is, Madonna represents a new kind of 50 year old. Gone are the days when 50 year olds start thinking about retiring and living out the rest of their lives in retirement communities, playing golf and traveling in motor homes. Instead, they want a life that provides them with the freedom to pursue their personal and professional goals on their own schedules, and to achieve a healthy and satisfying balance in their lives among career, family, and leisure activities.

"It no longer makes sense for people to work years at a job they may hate in order to amass a fortune before retiring and living the next 30 plus years of their lives feeling bored, irrelevant, and out of the mainstream," says Anthony. "It is time to stop compartmentalizing work into the first part of our lives and leisure into the last part. Instead, with the appropriate financial planning and the right change in attitude, Americans can begin living the lives they really want now, not later. And for those of us who simply can't afford to retire in the traditional sense, it's time to rethink how we approach the rest of our lives. We can either sit back and give up, or realize that we have the opportunity to reshape our futures."

The New Retirementality helps readers examine their attitudes about work and retirement and about how life should be lived. Anthony shows readers how new opportunities will enable them to create a tailor-made life that is both fulfilling and flexible. Using exercises as well as anecdotes about real life people who are pursuing their dreams without a bundle in the bank, Anthony teaches readers how to identify their dreams and figure out how to achieve them. Among other things, Anthony uses his seven great "retiremyths" to challenge readers to abandon their preconceptions about retirement; highlights the financial building blocks readers can use to achieve the freedom they need to pursue their dreams on their own terms; and guides readers through an analysis of the emotional and psychological factors that can lead to a significant ROL (Return on Life).

With the latest edition of The New Retirementality, readers will discover how to achieve the freedom to pursue their retirement goals--at their own pace, on their own terms--regardless of their age. Anthony will show readers how new opportunities will enable them to create a tailor-made life that is both fulfilling and flexible. A companion website, NewRetirementality. com provides readers with the tools necessary to create a customized NewRetirementality profile.

Mitch Anthony is president of Advisor Insights, a Rochester, Minnesota-based training and communications firm, which advises the financial services and insurance industries. Mr. Anthony also writes and hosts the syndicated radio feature, The Daily Dose, heard on 160 stations nationwide, and the author of several additional books focused on the financial services industry. A living example of the new retirementality, Mr. Anthony has no plans to ever retire.

The Financial Life Planning Institute, founded by Mitch Anthony, is an organization focused on educating, training and developing tools for financial advisors in a discovery process called Financial Life Planning™. The Institute is focused on developing services and tools that help advisors implement the financial life planning process into their business by putting the client's interests before their own.
The New Retirementality (July 2008, $19.95, 256 pages, 6x9, paperback, ISBN: 978-0-470-25508-7) is available at neighborhood and online booksellers.

The Dental Assistant students at Pima Medical Institute, 555 S. Renton Village Place in Renton are looking to put the sparkle back into children’s smiles by teaching proper brushing and flossing techniques during February, National Children’s Dental Health Month.

Teachers, or others who work with children, are encouraged to call PMI at 425-228-9600 to set up an appointment to have the dental assistant students interact with the children while providing useful information on proper oral hygiene.

“Proper dental hygiene is more than aesthetics, it’s a health issue that should not be overlooked,” said Bob Panerio, campus director for the Renton career college. “During February, National Children’s Dental Health Month, our goal is to reach out to more children and help them properly care for their teeth and create a good habit that they will continue the rest of their lives. And if they grow up and decide to go to Pima Medical Institute and become Dental Assistants, that would be wonderful as well.”

The training period for dental assistants is 30 weeks for day classes for day classes, or 33 weeks for evening classes. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for Dental Assistants is expected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations through 2012.

Burton Group Introduces Ground-breaking Data Project Methodology

Burton Group Introduces Ground-breaking Data Project Methodology

Burton Group, a research and consulting firm focused on in-depth analysis of enterprise information technologies, introduces Methodology for Overcoming Data Silos (MODS) to solve the profound problem of producing quality data from a decentralized silo.

Salt Lake City (Vocus) June 30, 2009

Burton Group (http://www. burtongroup. com/), a research and consulting firm focused on in-depth analysis of enterprise information technologies, introduces Methodology for Overcoming Data Silos (MODS) to solve the profound problem of producing quality data from a decentralized silo.

Data silos are a natural and permanent part of today's decentralized information systems. However, data silos make it difficult for businesspeople to obtain the integrated information they need to make decisions and do their jobs. The data silo problem has been and continues to be a negative factor in the current economic recession, which is affecting the livelihoods of millions of people.

To address the data silo problem, IT professionals cannot apply the same thinking they used when they created the data silos originally. MODS is a ground-breaking project methodology for bridging data silos and delivering integrated information from decentralized systems.

Given the scope and the impact of the data silo problem on healthcare, government and defense, and vital business cogs within the modern economy, we all need decision makers to have easy access to consistent information that resides deep within the enterprise's disparate data silos. MODS is a methodology for executing data management projects and will deliver integrated data currently buried deep within silos to businesspeople across the enterprise

Lyn Robison, Burton Group VP and service director who developed and successfully used MODS said, "A MODS project does not result in the creation of additional silos. Rather, MODS projects catalog and then clean up the data that resides deep within existing silos so that businesspeople can readily perform cross-silo joins of important enterprise information."

Learn how enterprise organizations can benefit for MODS with a complimentary download of Robison's report "Delivering Integrated Information from Data Silos using MODS (http://www. burtongroup. com/Guest/Dm/DeliveringIntegrated. aspx)," and webcast (http://www. brighttalk. com/webcasts/4954/attend). More information on MODS can be found on Burton Group's Data Management Strategies blog (http://dmsblog. burtongroup. com/data_management_strategie/mods/).

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) September 10, 2004

Qqest Software Systems and MPI announce a strategic alliance to develop a seamless integration of QqestÂ’s TimeForce time and attendance product with MPIÂ’s Millennium Suite of Payroll Products.

“MPI is working with payroll service bureaus to offer a competitive suite of products to America’s employers. As a partner to our service bureaus, we feel it necessary to give them the tools they need to compete in the market place. The alignment of Qqest and MPI allows payroll providers and clients to easily integrate their timekeeping and payroll data to create a real punch-to-pay solution. Univera Completes Acquisition of Multinational Brand Matol

Univera Completes Acquisition of Multinational Brand Matol

Univera, Inc., a Washington state-based pioneer in the development and distribution of scientifically-validated and vertically-integrated natural health products through a relationship marketing model ("MLM"), announced this week that it has closed on a previously-announced agreement to acquire specific assets and the distributor network of Canada-based Matol Botanical International Ltd.

Lacey, Wash. (PRWEB) February 7, 2009

Univera, Inc., a Washington state-based pioneer in the development and distribution of scientifically-validated and vertically-integrated natural health products through a relationship marketing model ("MLM"), announced today that it has closed on a previously-announced agreement to acquire specific assets and the distributor network of Canada-based Matol Botanical International Ltd.

Matol, the oldest private MLM company in Canada, is a direct seller of health and diet nutritional supplements, with consumers in Canada, the United States and a number of overseas countries.

Stuart Ochiltree, Vice Chairman and CEO of ECONET, Inc., Univera's parent company, stated, "During a time at which many companies are contracting, the ECONET and Univera have the strategic and financial resources to seek aggressive growth opportunities. We believe this transaction sends a positive message to the industry, Univera Associates, and Matol Associates who now join Univera and the entire ECONET family of companies."

Matol was officially launched in 1984 by J. F. Robert Bolduc, the company's Co-Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer. Bolduc will oversee the full integration of Matol's distributor network into the Univera distributor network. He will also assist in Univera's global expansion efforts by building on and bridging Matol's current and extensive international business relationships.

For Univera, the incorporation of Matol's resources in Canada, including a top-notch distribution facility and offices in Montreal, allows for improved and more efficient processing of transactions with Univera Canada distributors. The acquisition also brings a complementary line of well-established products and opens up Univera's dynamic family of products to the former Matol distribution network.

"Having these resources - including an active Health Canada site license - will help us better serve the Canadian marketplace," Univera CEO Regan Miles said. "More important, this transaction is simply one more indication that at a time when so many companies are cutting back on their efforts, plans, and dreams, Univera is seizing opportunities in the marketplace and playing to win now and for the future of our great company," Miles said.
