Scala Delivers Cutting-Edge 3D Digital Signage
Scala expands Infochannel graphics capability with EX for Opticality 3D screens.
Exton, PA (PRWEB) May 25, 2005
Scala, Inc. (www. scala. com), the worldÂs leading software platform for digital signage, today announced that Scala customers will now be able to build a 3D signage network, combining the remarkable 3D display technology from Opticality with Scala's leading network and scripting technologies.
ScalaÂs players (IC3 Player and IC3 Designer, version 7.4 or newer) can now drive 3D screens from Opticality and/or conventional screens through a single interface, while still keeping Scala's industry-leading features such as: easy scheduling, device control, billing logs, and advanced scripting. The Opticality EX will also work with ScalaÂs advanced network distribution software across point-to-point or broadcast networks, with system health monitoring, remote maintenance, and other applications.
ÂWeÂre taking our queue from whatÂs happening in the video game and entertainment worldsÂpeople prefer a rich media environment that mimics real life. With EX support for Opticality our customers can now build networked digital display systems on par with these popular consumer environments, said Jeffery Porter, Scala Executive Vice-President.
Our strategic partnership with Scala gives advertisers a new and innovative way to not only engage their target audience utilizing the Opticality technology, but to leverage Scala to roll it out and seamlessly connect all of their retail outlets, said Tom Bowen-Wright, OpticalityÂs Executive Vice President.
Opticality offers a no-glasses-required 3D display that can display specially-prepared images and videos in 3D. Spectators experience lifelike 3D images float deep within the screen and project up to several feet outside of it. Images are visible to the naked eye, and can be seen at 120-degree peripheries. Opticality displays are based on flat-panel LCD and plasma screens, and can be modified to each vertical's unique specifications.
The Opticality EX will be available from Scala July 1st, 2005 and requires no additional Scala hardware to activate the EX.
