The Voluptuous Woman Company presents "A Diamond in the Rough: Empowerment Weekend for Plus-Size Women"Silver Spring, MD. - During the weekend of October 20-22, 2000, the Voluptuous Woman Company will host 400 enthusiastic and energetic plus-size women for a groundbreaking event that will create a sense of awareness, as well as, motivate, stimulate, entertain and educate them.
The brand new 4-star Hilton Alexandria Old Town Hotel located 15 minutes outside of Washington, DC in historic Old Town Alexandria, VA will be the honorary venue for "A Diamond in the Rough: Empowerment Weekend for Plus-Size Women."These women will be treated to workshops that include plus-size modeling, health/fitness, dressing for success, careers in the plus-size industry and "loving yourself inside and out". They will enjoy a luncheon with keynote speaker DeLores Pressley, FounderandProducer of the Ms. Plus USA Pageant, which will be celebrating their 15th year in November 2000.
In addition to the motivating and educational workshops the Saturday events will conclude with the 3rd Annual Networking Reception and Fashion Show featuring live entertainment.
