PORTLAND, OR AND MADISON, WI (PRWEB) June 11, 2003
Now more than ever, knowledge is the difference between success and failure in investing for retirement. That's why 401khelpcenter. com and Precision Information, LLC have teamed up to provide 401khelpcenter. com users with The Educated Investor Center. The Educated Investor Center is designed to give individuals the knowledge they need to become a successful 401(k) investor.
"The greatest need for financial education is among people who participate in defined contribution plans at work," said Joe Saari, president of Precision Information. "Millions of people are facing challenging investment choices with very little preparation or experience. Our partnership with 401khelpcenter. com is an effective way to put the power of financial education in the hands of employees and the plan sponsors who serve them," Saari said.
Of American workers questioned in a recent survey sponsored by the Employee Benefit Research Institute and the American Savings Education Council, the vast majority (89 percent) describe their personal knowledge of investing or saving for retirement as less than comprehensive, and nearly half (43 percent) state they possess no better than limited knowledge.
In response to the survey question: How confident are you that you (and your spouse) are doing a good job of preparing financially for your retirement? - Only 24 percent replied they are "very" confident, while 29 percent are either "not too (confident)" or "not at all (confident)."
"As all the studies show, most employees are poorly prepared to make decisions about their retirement investments," said Rick Meigs, President of 401khelpcenter. com, LLC. ÂThe addition of The Educated Investor Center will continue our emphasis on helping the 401(k) plan participant become a better retirement planner and investor, Meigs said.
Developed by Precision Information, the Educated Investor Center focuses on three primary course topics: financial planning, investment strategy, and mutual funds. Each course has tutorials that cover a range of important topics.
