Carlos Trevino Honored By The Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

The Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's Spirit of Solano recipient for this year is Carlos Trevino, Senior Advisor of MLS Reverse Mortgage.

Auburn, CA (PRWEB) November 21, 2007

Carlos is a long term resident of Solano County having moved to Vacaville in 1971. Carlos Trevino's personal mission is to have a positive impact on the lives of the client's and community he serves.

From longevity in business perspective, Carlos opened TELEFAX in 1984 in Vacaville. In its 20 year time-span TELEFAX served over 32,000 clients. He sold the business in 2004 and adapted to new market trends becoming a Reverse Mortgage Advisor for MLS Reverse Mortgage serving the baby boomer market.

"We couldn't be more happy to have an individual working for us that is so dedicated to his community and his clients," said Mike Borba, President and CEO of Borba Investments, Inc. dba MLS Reverse Mortgage.

Significant Community Contributor and Partner

Carlos was a founding board member of the Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in 1990. Over the years he has served in various capacities and is still involved. He presently serves on the Executive Committee as the Chief Ambassador. Carlos demonstrates his leadership and management style by taking on major public service initiatives and ensures they get done in a high quality and professional manner.

Carlos has volunteered his services to the Solano Community for many years. He was co-founder of the Vacaville Le Tip group, served as director of the American Diabetes Associations, member of the Vacaville COPPS program through the Vacaville Police Department, served as an advisory board member of the Vacaville Museum and the Vacaville Boys and Girls Club, served as a board member of the Downtown Vacaville Business Improvement District, Chair of the Downtown Vacaville Design and Beautification Program, member of the Independent Order of ODD Fellows, Director of the Youth Image Maker Foundation, and an area representative of the Employer Support of Guard and Reserves.

Honorary Awards

Many honors and awards have been bestowed on Carlos over the years including Honorary Commander of the 60th Air Mobility Wing. Most recently he was recognized by the 349th Air Mobility Wing and Air Force Reserves for distinguished contributions to the National Defense by Commander Thomas M. Giseler, Jr. Brig. Gen. USAFR. He also received recognition for investing his personal time toward the 2006/2007 Coast and Creek Clean-up serving as a Clean-up Coordinator.

Commitment to Helping Seniors Age in Place

With all of Carlos' volunteer work, it's amazing he finds time to work with his senior clients. When Carlos learned about reverse mortgages, he knew right away that a reverse mortgage could help thousands of seniors with much needed financial relief. Rising healthcare costs and increasing home maintenance expenses are making this more and more difficult for seniors to remain in their homes. As a response to the apparent problem, the U. S. government created a financial solution for homeowners 62 and older. The solution is called a Reverse Mortgage and it may just help seniors truly enjoy their retirement years. A reverse mortgage enables homeowners 62 or older to convert part of the equity in their homes into tax-free income without having to sell their home, give up title, or take on a new monthly mortgage payment.
