Colopril Sales Soar on the Heels of Health Report

Colopril Sales Soar on the Heels of Health Report

A December 2009 report from Godairyfree. org that advises consumers on easy methods of relief that they can seek from food intolerances, specifically stating that bowel washouts - or colon cleanses - are an effective method of relief, has skyrocketed the sales of Pharmaxa Labs' all-natural colon cleanse, Colopril.

Manalapan, NJ (PRWEB) January 1, 2010

The sales of Pharmaxa Labs' best-selling all-natural colon cleanse, Colopril, are up. Way up. Spurred by the widespread web popularity of a food intolerance health report that offers expert advice on both recognizing and establishing the symptoms and conditions of food intolerances, and one that also advises sufferers of the most effective methods of treatment, amongst which bowel washouts (colon cleanses) are ranked as fifth in suggested methods of treatment.

The popular online website, Godairyfree. org, published an article for December, 2009 that was contributed from the popular printed medium, Food Matters Magazine, entitled: "Report: The Management of Multiple Food Intolerances."

The article advises consumers on what symptoms to look for when identifying food intolerances, and how to successfully eliminate them by making changes in their diets. In the solutions section of the report, the article advises consumers on many different solutions that can ease their woes, of which the article also advises using bowel washouts, or colon cleanses.

The article cites,

"Bowel washouts:

It is possible temporarily to reduce the number of bacteria in the bowel by washouts. From time immemorial people have visited clinics for colonic lavage, which they found helpful. However, colonic lavage, even as practiced by experienced hospital nurses, is much less effective in emptying the bowel than is a vigorous purge such as Picolax or Citramag. That said emptying the bowel this way is more energy depleting and time consuming than colonic irrigation. Approximately 12 hours are required for bowel cleansing drugs to take effect and empty the bowel."

Colopril spokesperson, Tammy Willis, ascertains that the amounts of consumers that have barraged their product website - www. Colopril. com - after this report emerged early in December have been rather astounding. Yet at the same time, not surprising for the makers of this colon cleanse, Pharmaxa Labs.

"Colopril sales are definitely up this month, and we owe a bit of thanks to this report," Willis says. "When experts inform consumers that something as simple as colon cleanses (bowel washouts) can alleviate the symptoms of food intolerances--you can bet that many jump to take action. Since we are amongst the most respected of brands in the nutraceutical industry, it is no shocker that many consumers are turning to our colon cleanse (Colopril) to treat ailments that are associated with food intolerances."

Colopril colon cleanse is an all-natural detoxification supplement. It is taken by capsule form orally, once per day.

Colopril works to thoroughly cleanse the body of all toxins by gently flushing them out through the colon.

Most people will experience noticeable results - such as increased energy, restored spirit, natural weight-loss and relief from the symptoms of food intolerances - within the first few weeks of usage, when used as directed.

Allegro Presents Medical Supplies Guidelines for Disaster Relief

Allegro Presents Medical Supplies Guidelines for Disaster Relief

In order to ease disaster relief coordination at regional and international levels, Allegro Medical has provided guidelines for deploying the proper medical supplies and equipment paramount to the initial and sustained efforts of restoring normalcy to a disaster area and survivors.

Mesa, AZ (PRWEB) January 22, 2010

To coordinate resources during disaster relief efforts, aid in the form of physical assistance, food and water, financial support, and medical supplies must be orchestrated immediately and effectively. Acquiring and deploying the right types of medical supplies (http://www. allegromedical. com/) and medical equipment is imperative during both the initial and sustained efforts. The following is a brief sourcing guide for medical supplies when providing disaster relief.

Acute and post-acute injuries are extremely common during disasters. Several wound care supplies, such as bandages and dressings, are recommended for advanced wound treatment. A variety of dressings are suitable for this purpose, including foam dressings, which are easily removed and provide thermal insulation and moisture to a healing wound. Hydrocolloid dressings also maintain a moist environment, reacting with wound exudates to form a protective gel-like covering. Antimicrobial and alginate dressings and hydrogels also keep wounds moist and promote healing.

Also important for wound care (http://www. allegromedical. com/wound-care-c541.html) during disasters, Allegro also sells medical supplies such as gauze pads, alcohol prep pads, low-adhesive medical tape, cotton elastic and sports tapes, as well as waterproof, breathable specialty tapes to hold dressings and gauze in place. Sterile, cotton tip applicators are recommended in boxes of up to 2,000, while 100% cotton packing strips, soft gauze in pads and rolls with sponges, and silicon or collagen dressings for wounds, burns, and skin ulcers should be ordered in significant quantities. Wound cleansers also adsorb drainage, deodorize wounds, remove dead tissue, and remove bacteria and debris prior to dressing.

Disposable medical exam gloves top the list of emergency supplies requested during recovery operations. They are inexpensive and provide necessary protection for those administering wound care supplies to the injured. Allegro carries a full line of vinyl and latex exam gloves (powdered and powder-free) as well as Nitrile (protein-free, chemical resistant) gloves. For emergencies, Latex exam gloves (http://www. allegromedical. com/swine-flu-c7240/latex-powder-free-exam-gloves-p214277.htmlhttp:/www. allegromedical. com/swine-flu-c7240/latex-powder-free-exam-gloves-p214277.html) are the most popular option because of their affordability, fit, degree of protection, strength and elasticity.

Craig Hood, CEO of Allegro Medical, said, “The immediate hours and days following a disaster event are critical, and are not the time for agencies to be shopping around for supplies. At Allegro, we offer hundreds of medical supplies in bulk quantities, at affordable prices.”

Other medical supplies for disaster relief such as syringes, surgical equipment; hand sanitizers, antiseptics, casting supplies, swabs, first aid kits, hygiene supplies and water purifiers are all available from Allegro. All supplies can be purchased on the company’s website and are listed by category, brand, condition, and body part. Allegro will even match better deals found online and also offers low-cost reorder shipping rates which facilitate the process of resupplying critical consumable medical supplies.

“Treating wounds and avoiding infections are top priorities immediately following a disaster. We are the primary source for products you need to get out on the field to help bring life back to normal in the disaster zone,” added Hood.

S. USA Life Insurance Company, Inc., Opens Chicago Customer Center as Part of National Expansion

S. USA Life Insurance Company, Inc. marked the opening of its Customer Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday attended by government and business officials as well as guests from Chicago non-profit organizations. During the late afternoon ceremony at 55 East Jackson Boulevard, S. USA President and Chief Executive Officer Vikki L. Pryor presented a company contribution of $5,000 to Marillac House, which serves ChicagoÂ’s East Garfield neighborhood by providing social services and programs for young children, teens, pre-teens and expectant mothers.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) September 29, 2005

S. USA Life Insurance Company, Inc. marked the opening of its Customer Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by government and business officials as well as guests from Chicago non-profit organizations.

“This is a successful company with a spirit that Chicagoans applaud,” said Paul O’Connor, executive director of World Business Chicago.

S. USA, with a mission of making life insurance accessible and affordable to working Americans, is expanding nationally while diversifying its distribution channels and products. Domiciled in Arizona and licensed in over 40 states, the company has its home office in Newark, NJ. A. M. Best, the independent rating firm, gives S. USA an A - (Excellent) group rating for operating performance, financial strength and market profile.

At the outset, S. USAÂ’s employee roster in Chicago numbers 17 people. S. USAÂ’s Customer Center will assist regional policyholders with product information and services. On an upper floor of the same building, S. USA has established the companyÂ’s Marketing and Sales Office. The Chicago Customer Center is the fourth established SBLI USAÂ’s family of companies in a plan of national expansion. Other locations are in New York, Puerto Rico and Buffalo, NY.

"We hope the community will look to us as a resource and partner—one that understands their needs,” said Pryor. “As our country faces its challenges and people find their own way, we want to help empower them in their lives, beginning with the information they need to make financial decisions. We want to help make them stronger, not just financially, but in every way. We are here to contribute to the growth of the Chicago community. Giving back to the community is part of our business model.”

Noting that S. USA and other groups are celebrating Life Insurance Awareness Month during September, Pryor said that the company hopes to help improve the financial situation of an estimated 50 million Americans who do not have life insurance protection. Many, she said, are “in the diverse communities often overlooked by other financial services companies.”

S. USA designs its Customer Centers as relaxed, yet professional environments where customers can feel at ease while making important decisions about their financial futures. In Chicago, as at other Centers, there are kiosks where customers can quickly and simply take financial self-assessment quizzes, learn in English or Spanish about S. USAÂ’s products and services, and obtain insurance quotations. The Centers also have play areas with games and plasma TVÂ’s to entertain children while parents are occupied.

Currently, S. USAÂ’s products are offered in Illinois through the Customer Center and three bank insurance agencies: Banco Popular, Wells Fargo and Citibank. The companyÂ’s web site also provides information at www. susa. com.

“Strengthening our retail presence is part of our plan for growth. For S. USA to succeed and increase our brand awareness, we have to put Customer Centers right where the people are,” said Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales, M. Nasim Ali.

The company, he said, plans to partner with community groups and host events such as Family Health and Wellness Days, a program that has been well-received in Buffalo and Puerto Rico.

“Giving back to the community is part of our business model,” said Pryor. “We’re there to help financially empower people and provide them with the information they need to make informed financial decisions.”

Each year the company participates in community events that raise money for AIDS and breast cancer research, and provide services and food and clothing to the needy.

Nuprana. com Becomes First Water Conservation Store to Offer Free Shipping on Every Product

Nuprana. com Becomes First Water Conservation Store to Offer Free Shipping on Every Product

Nuprana. com, the first online water conservation resource to provide information, products, news, and advocacy recommendations all in one place, is now the first one to offer FREE SHIPPING on every product in its online water conservation store.

Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) September 22, 2008

Online sales are growing at a faster pace every day, especially among environmentally conscious shoppers who are realizing that shopping at online stores has a much lower carbon footprint than driving to a 300,000 square foot "energy guzzling, garbage producing" superstore or worse, having to drive to several stores in one day to find what they need. Some shoppers continue to drive to do their shopping because of increasing shipping costs at online stores, due to the infamous "fuel surcharge" that carriers are now including in their rates. This additional surcharge often represents 20-30% of the total shipping rate which takes the final price tag way above what shoppers are comfortable paying.

Now Nuprana. com makes it easy for green homes and businesses to shop for water conservation (http://www. nuprana. com) products without the hassle of driving all over town or spending hours online searching for what you need and then paying high shipping costs. At Nuprana. com every single item offers free shipping without a minimum amount or minimum quantity of items. For example, you can buy the smallest item in the store -- the 'Toilet Leak Detection Tablets' for $1.99 -- and it offers free shipping.

"We are trying to eliminate all of the barriers that keep American households from saving more water and protecting our environment," explains Elizabeth Beachy, co-founder of Nuprana and an expert in Behavior Change Communication related to Public Health issues. "We know our costs will increase because of this decision, but we want our clients to make their decisions based not on how much the shipping costs, but on how much water they want to save," added Mrs. Beachy.

About Nuprana. com:
Nuprana LLC is a family-owned, on-line green business dedicated to water conservation (http://news. nuprana. com) that offers affordable, user-friendly water conservation products for green homes and businesses, in addition to water conservation information, news and advocacy recommendations. It was founded by Elizabeth Beachy and Osvaldo Gomez with the vision of conscious water use, cleaner waterways, safe drinking water, and pristine freshwater sources preserved and revered for their natural beauty. The couple resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They started Nuprana after the birth of their son inspired them to help improve the world awaiting his generation.

Celebrity Dentists Good for Cosmetic Dentistry: Survey Results

Celebrity Dentists Good for Cosmetic Dentistry: Survey Results

Most dentists feel that celebrity cosmetic dentists are increasing public awareness of dentistry and are good for the profession as a whole. However, one in three dentists disagrees, feeling that televised cosmetic dentistry emphasizes appearance over dental health and can lead to unrealistic expectations for patients who see a cosmetic dentist.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 13, 2007

When asked if they think celebrity cosmetic dentists are good for the profession, two out of three dentists say TV dentists are good for dentistry, according to a recent survey by The Wealthy Dentist. The majority feels that media exposure only makes the public more aware of what cosmetic dentistry can offer. The remaining 38% of dentists feel that these docs are pushing appearance over health, and it's not making dentists look good.

Some dentists see cosmetic dentistry, particularly as represented by celebrity doctors, as at odds with health care and professionalism. "We need to do what's best for the patient and not a quick fix," said one pediatric dentist. "There are more important things than the best possible smile using too white and ultra perfect teeth," agreed a California dentist. "Restoring them and keeping them is more important."

Some dentists and dental specialists are highly critical of doctors who call themselves "cosmetic dentists." (In fact, the term "cosmetic dentist" is not recognized as a dental specialty by the ADA. Some states even prohibit use of the term in dental advertising.) "These individuals have NO advanced specialty training," complained a New York orthodontist. "I believe they reflect poorly on the profession," said a Florida prosthodontist. "Frequently the treatment they provide is about instant gratification and not in the long-term interest of the patient."

On the other hand, many dentists embrace cosmetic dentistry. "Appearance, self-confidence and health are inextricably bound," said an Oklahoma dentist. "There is so much we can do for people by improving their smiles." A Massachusetts dentist agreed, saying, "Patients want to be healthy, feel good, and look great. We, as doctors, need to direct them in that sequence; but having addressed the first two, why not actively promote the third leg of the triad?"

Cosmetic dentists are often seen as purely motivated by profits. "Because of the money, many dentists are performing cosmetic dentistry and put dental health on the back burner," complained a Maryland dentist. "It may put dentists in a good position in the public eye, since the public wants to look good, but it damages the professionalism of the profession." A Georgia dentist agreed, saying, "It's all about the money and prestige...Whatever happened to the best interest of the patient?"

To some dental health practitioners, anything that raises awareness of dentistry is good for the profession. "To many people, dentistry is a horrifying experience of pain and discomfort. It is great that these dentists are showing the positive aspects of dentistry," said a California dentist. "The Dr. Dorfman types and Extreme Makeover shows give a significant amount of publicity to the dental profession in general while showing the public what dentistry can do for them," said an Arizona dentist. "Promoting cosmetics along with reconstructing patients' pathologic dentition is a great public service."

Celeb docs are good advertising, or so some dentists believe. "If it gets people's attention to come into a dentist office finally, then it is a positive," opined a Pennsylvania dentist. "People gladly pay for what they want... No dentist competes with the dentist down the street; we compete with that new car, new TV set, vacation, etc.," said a Wisconsin dentist. "I am grateful for the awareness that the celebrity docs bring to the general public!"

Cosmetic dentists are often known for giving patients the perfect white smiles sported by movie stars. "I believe that most people want to look like celebrities," said a Florida dental office worker. "Since cosmetic dentistry has been exposed by celebrities, more people are inquiring about the procedures available to improve their smiles."

Other dentists are not impressed by some cosmetic dental work. "The end product for many of them looks like dentures!" complained a Texas dental marketer. "The aggressive push for esthetics turns off many health-conscious patients. The underlying assumption is that everyone wants a perfect, white smile," commented a Michigan dentist.

Some are unimpressed by the quality of care provided by some so-called cosmetic dentists. "Often the basics of diagnosis are disregarded in return for fast financial gain. Not far from my office is a 'guru cosmetic dentist,'" said a Wisconsin dentist. "I've seen several cases personally with angular bone loss that the periodontist has termed 'hopeless.' This frustrates me...and I'm sure others."

"Love it or hate, cosmetic dentistry is here to stay!" said Jim Du Molin, dental managment consultant and founder of The Wealthy Dentist. "It's a more divisive topic in the dental community than you'd expect. Each month thousands of consumer visit 1stCosmeticDentist. com, a dental website for cosmetic dental information, and almost 20% request a cosmetic evaluation appointment. Since when are healthy teeth and attractive smiles mutually exclusive options?"

Biometric Digest and DRI International Announce Dallas Seminar on Biometric Identification Technology

Biometric Digest and DRI International Announce Dallas Seminar on Biometric Identification Technology

(PRWEB) October 8, 2003

The Biometric Digest and DRI International, the world's leading authority on disaster recovery and business continuity issues, announced plans to jointly sponsor a series of seminars on biometric identification technology and its critical role in organizational security and business continuity planning.

The next seminar is scheduled for November 18, 2003 in Dallas, Texas. Additional seminars are also planned for 2004. The one-day seminars are presented in conjunction with a series of business continuity certification courses offered by DRI International.

Security today is built around trust and identity verification. The roots of todayÂ’s security framework are grounded in the ability to provide authorized individuals with the appropriate access rights based on those individuals authenticating or verifying their trusted identity. Biometrics are a way to establish a unique and trusted identity for each individual that cannot be lost, stolen or misused, which can be an issue with traditional methods of authentication such as passwords, keys and cards.

Biometrics is the measurement of an individualÂ’s unique physical or behavioral characteristic(s) to recognize his identity and/or verify his claimed identity. A number of traits and behaviors can underlie biometrics including fingerprints, face, iris, retina, voice and others.

Biometrics is playing an important role in homeland security and is being used by airports, state and federal government agencies, hospitals, banks and credit unions, daycare centers, schools, and for building access, computer access, and many other applications. The industry is projected to grow from $600 million in 2002 to $4 billion by 2007, driven in part by a projected growth in spending by the new Department of Homeland Security.

Nearly every major credit card supplier is developing biometrics as a means to reduce fraud and help prevent stolen identity. The payments industry faces increased security challenges as payment card counterfeiters and other criminals employ more sophisticated techniques and technologies to defraud financial institutions and consumers.

Some automotive manufacturers already offer biometrics for added security and convenience on vehicles.

In the medical field, many hospitals and healthcare organizations are deploying biometric security architecture to meet new government regulations for network security and ensure the trust of patients.

In the financial industry, where internal fraud is a bigger problem than external fraud, many banks and credit unions are moving to biometrics for both employee identification and convenient customer service.

For more information on the biometrics seminars, contact William Rogers at (314) 892-8632. To register, contact Thomas C. Mawson, Executive Director, at (703) 538-1792. For more information on the sponsoring organizations, visit www. drii. org or www. biodigest. com.

Global Energy and Large Construction Companies Need Specialized Insurance

Global Energy and Large Construction Companies Need Specialized Insurance

Finding an insurance brokerage that understands a specialized industry is difficult. A newly launched insurance brokerage specializes in representing the global energy and large construction industries.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) July 4, 2006

Helmer Risk Management, LLC, a specialized insurance brokerage for the global energy and large construction industries, solves a major problem for those industries -- they understand specialized needs.

Scott A. Helmer, formerly affiliated with Hill Insurance Services in Scottsdale, Ariz., recently launched Helmer Risk Management, LLC, headquartered in Phoenix.

"Our mission is to be the leading provider of specialized insurance brokerage for the global energy and large construction industries," said Helmer, president. "Our goal each day is to provide an outstanding customer experience with a personal touch."

Helmer's success is based on developing long-term relationships with clients by delivering policies and endorsements on time without error and conducting comprehensive annual reviews that allow clients to better manage their risks. Clients also benefit from the company's specialization in the energy and construction industries, which allows the brokerage to better understand the complex contract issues and difficult environmental concerns facing clients.

"We believe personal contact and service is the cornerstone of our success," Helmer said.

The company represents clients throughout the United States, many with international operations, in the following sectors:

Pipeline contractors Oil and gas companies Alternative energy companies Mining operations Commercial general contractors Energy and construction-related support companies

"Many insurance agencies try to be all things to all clients in order to reach their sales and production goals. They write personal lines, commercial lines, life and health insurance. We do not. We believe that to be competent in all areas is not possible. Our goal is not to be the largest agency, but to truly be the best at what we do. Specialization provides us with that opportunity," Helmer explained.

By focusing on a segment of the industry, Helmer believes the company will better know and understand its clients' needs, and will be able to negotiate the best terms for coverage from insurance companies. He added that Helmer Risk represents its clients actively during any claims process.

Helmer Risk also does not charge clients additional fees to service their accounts. Helmer said many national insurance brokers receive compensation from the insurance carriers via a commission, and then turn around and charge their clients additional fees to handle the account. Helmer does not do this.

"Helmer Risk is an alternative to the national insurance brokerage houses, offering a more personalized level of service with focused specialization on our client's type of business operations," Helmer said.

Helmer maintains a web site with more information at http://www. HelmerRisk. com (http://www. HelmerRisk. com).

Lack of Health Insurance Complicates Health Issues Facing Dallas-Fort Worth Women, Report From Dallas Women's Foundation Shows

Lack of Health Insurance Complicates Health Issues Facing Dallas-Fort Worth Women, Report From Dallas Women's Foundation Shows

As the nation focuses on the state of health care, women in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are among the groups across the country that are most acutely impacted by lack of health insurance, according to research compiled by the Dallas Women's Foundation. In the region, close to one out of five women live without health insurance, above the national average of one out of eight. The report, the Dallas Women's Foundation Health & Safety Indicators, also shows that a new generation of health concerns are on the rise, including levels of obesity that threaten to reverse progress made with heart disease; more women living longer and needing care due to lengthier chronic disease or Alzheimer's; and the added mental health and economic strains of increased numbers of low birth weight babies.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) September 24, 2009

As the nation focuses on the state of health care, women in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are among the groups across the country that are most acutely impacted by lack of health insurance, according to research compiled by the Dallas Women's Foundation. In this region, close to one out of five women live without health insurance, above the national average of one out of eight (12.4 percent). Local women, who are more likely than men to head households alone and less likely to hold jobs offering medical benefits, are faced with hard choices, prioritizing paying the bills or for their children's health care over important preventive care and consistent medical treatment for themselves.

"A woman's health affects far more than just her medical well-being. It impacts her ability to engage in all aspects of her life - as a woman, a mother, a worker, a caregiver, a leader and more. Women so often serve as the foundations of our families and our communities, and their collective health is critical to their ability to fulfill those roles," said Becky Sykes, executive director of Dallas Women's Foundation.

The report, the Dallas Women's Foundation Health & Safety Indicators, also shows that women's health in Dallas-Fort Worth is at a crossroads. Thanks to medical advancements and preventive education, smoking has decreased, cancer screenings have improved, and heart disease and cancer deaths have declined.

In their place, a new generation of concerns are on the rise, including levels of obesity that threaten to reverse progress made with heart disease; more women living longer and needing care due to lengthier chronic disease or Alzheimer's; and the added mental health and economic strains of increased numbers of low birth weight babies..

The Dallas Women's Foundation Health & Safety Indicators (available online at http://www. dallaswomensfoundation. org (http://www. dallaswomensfoundation. org)) revealed several key findings including:

A significant population of women in Dallas-Fort Worth faces obstacles to accessing healthcare due to lack of health insurance.
Nearly one out of five (20 percent) Dallas-Fort Worth women - more than 419,500 - live without health insurance. That is almost 50,000 more individuals than live in the entire city of Arlington.  Even with a recent 25 percent decrease in regional uninsured rates for women, we still lag behind the rest of the country.

Rising obesity and overweight rates are contributing to a troubling shift in chronic disease risk factors for Dallas-Fort Worth women.
More than half - 56 percent - of women in the Dallas-Fort Worth region are either overweight or obese, and those numbers are growing. That's equal to more than 1.25 million women.  While men's obesity is decreasing, women's obesity is on the rise.  Without halting the increase of obesity, related issues like high blood pressure and diabetes are likely to feed a reversal in recent positive trends for heart disease, stroke and other chronic disease deaths among local women.

Advances in medical knowledge and technology, while positively impacting some areas, are creating new challenges for women in caregiver roles.
More women are bringing high-risk pregnancies to live births. New challenges are being created by this positive trend: more newborns have a very low birth weight, and babies are dying at a higher rate in the first months of life.  Women (as well as men) are receiving better care to extend their lives. As a result, more of the population is living longer with chronic illnesses like heart disease and cancer. Likewise, more are alive at an older age to experience the onset of Alzheimer's disease and to need intense personal care.

The toll that violence takes on women is incompletely and inconsistently documented.
Dallas-Fort Worth sees an average of just under 100 incidents of domestic violence against women and girls every day - approximately one every 15 minutes.  An average of six forcible rapes is reported daily.  Many victims don't report rapes or assaults out of fear, so these figures are certainly low. Also contributing to a lack of reliable data are changing police reporting methods, confidentiality surrounding these cases and the lack of a central data source for shelter admittances.

The Dallas Women's Foundation Health & Safety Indicators report was compiled by the foundation from publicly available data to present an objective portrait of how women are faring in the Dallas-Fort Worth community. The study, which is the first of its kind to be updated annually, is complemented by similar reports on Economic Security (released last fall) and Education (to be released late this year). The findings of these reports are intended to create informed action on behalf of women in the Dallas-Fort Worth community.

The study covers women in the 12-county Dallas-Arlington-Fort Worth Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), including Collin, Dallas, Delta, Denton, Ellis, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant and Wise counties.

Created in 1985, the Dallas Women's Foundation researches the needs and issues of women and girls, makes grants to programs that address those critical areas and empowers women philanthropists. The foundation has invested more than $11.5 million in more than 950 programs primarily in Dallas, Denton and Collin counties, assisting more than a quarter of a million of the region's women and girls. Love Our Children USA ... Helping the Children of Hurricane Katrina

Love Our Children USA... Helping the Children of Hurricane Katrina

Hurricane Katrina is the single worst natural disaster ever to hit the U. S., and the massive hardships it has created for hundreds of thousands of children and their families is unspeakable.

New York, NY (PRWEB) September 5, 2005

While hundreds of thousands in the Gulf Coast region have lost their homes and jobs – whole communities have been demolished. Families face months and years of uncertainty as they cope with the reality of this crisis.

Child abuse and family violence shelters in the affected areas were closed as well.

Child victims are severely affected in the aftermath of Katrina and their needs must be met with priority.

Workers in Houston report that over 500 children are missing. According to Houston CPS spokeswoman Estella Olguin, if the parents can't be located within a reasonable period of time, the children are placed in foster homes by Child Protective Services until they can be reunited.

The reality is that some children may be orphaned. And we donÂ’t yet know exactly how many.

For the children in shelters, they can benefit immensely from structured activities that will keep them safe and busy – and allow them to process what they’ve experienced. This gives them the chance to talk about what happened, to act out their experiences and draw pictures about what they have gone through. This can also help caregivers identify children who are especially troubled and in need of additional attention and help.

For adults who reside in areas where victims are being sheltered, if you see a child aimlessly walking around, call the police immediately.

Parents who are victims are feeling a variety of emotions. While some are still in shock, others are at the end of their rope with fear and very frayed nerves. This is a time when parents can lose their tempers and take it out on children.

Parents in this situation should seek help from volunteers in the shelter immediately. By explaining that you need a break from your children will help you regroup and keep your children protected.

When Hurricane Andrew devastated parts of Florida in 1992, there was an increase in child and family violence.

It is critical for families to remember that love and nurturing are key. Children are just children and in times of disaster they are going to be frightened, cranky, disoriented and sense your fear and overwhelm.

The best thing parents can do is:

Take a deep breath... and another, and another, and another. Then remember you are the adult – even though you yourself are in overwhelm. Close your eyes and imagine you're hearing what your child is about to hear. Press your lips together and count to 10... counting to 20 is even better. Put your child in a time-out corner. Even in a shelter, you can put your child in a corner of the facility and stand closeby so they are not alone. (one time-out minute for each year of age.) If you’re in a shelter, ask a volunteer or someone you’ve made friends with to watch your children for a few minutes while you go outside and take a walk. Splash cold water on your face. Hug a pillow. If it gets really bad - punch the pillow. When you are more permanently, contact Love Our Children USA for parenting materials that will help you. Once you have access to a computer, visit www. loveourchildrenusa. org for more information. If you are in a crisis mode – get to a hospital immediately.

Love Our Children USA is a 501(C)(3)nonprofit organization collecting donations for the children from the hardest hit areas of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. The oranization will also make calls on behalf of families whose children under the age of 18 are lost/missing. 100% of all donations collected on their behalf will go to these children to provide them with safe shelter, food, clothing and educational and play materials, as their families recover from this devastating event. New On-Board Aircraft Health Monitoring System Takes Flight on F-15: TRI/Austin, Inc. is Developing a New System That Can Monitor Aircraft Health During Flight The LAHMP(TM) Health Monitoring System Recently Passed a Flight Test Aboard an F-15

In 2003, the Army awarded an SBIR Phase II contract for $729,888 to TRI/Austin to develop a diagnostic/prognostic system that could monitor aircraft and rotorcraft structural components in flight. Phase II focused on ruggedizing the system, optimizing performance, reducing power draw, refining the prognostic/diagnostic algorithms and building a system for test. The effort culminated in a successful flight test of the LAHMP system aboard the F-15.

Ferndale, WA (PRWEB) January 22, 2007

"We couldn't have done it without Boeing, our teaming partner, who guided us through the process of getting on a flight test," noted Russell Austin, the Principal Scientist on the project. "Safety is critical and we had to prove that our system was safe enough to fly on board a plane. We successfully conducted third-party independent testing prior to placing the system on the aircraft and then a ground test on the plane before take-off." Third-party verification included acceleration testing of up to 6G on 6 axes as well as RFI/EMI testing. In-house thermal testing showed the system to be operational in the specified range of -40 to 85C, including thermal shock.

"In order for the LAHMP system to pass the flight test, the system could not adversely affect the plane, the plane could not adversely affect it and it had to be operational during the flight." During the flight test the LAHMP system took data from three areas on the F-15.

David Forsyth, the NDE/SHM Division Manager, sees a lot of potential for the LAHMP system. "We developed patented algorithms to determine structural health from on board sensor readings. In addition, we designed the health management platform to be fully customizable for a wide variety of aircraft." Potential applications include fighter aircraft, such as the Joint Strike Fighter and the F/A-18, military transports, helicopters, commercial aircraft and rockets.

Rehabilitation Assistant program at CDI College provides excellent introduction to the field

Surrey, BC (Vocus) January 15, 2010

Career opportunities in the health care sector are expected to flourish the coming years, and a number of assisting occupations, such as Rehabilitation Assistants (RAs) are expected to lead the way. For those interested in this lucrative field, there is still time to apply for the Rehabilitation Assistant diploma program, which starts on January 25, 2010 at CDI College in Surrey, BC.

“Rehabilitation Assistant is a very rewarding career choice,” says Cher Sayuno, a Rehabilitation Assistant instructor at CDI’s campus in Surrey, BC. “RAs work with all types of people from all walks of life. They assist patients with treatment and take part in each step of their recovery.”

Rehabilitation Assistants may work with a wide range of clients, from children to the elderly. They may also assist patients with various treatments, such as stroke recovery and physiotherapy. RAs work under the direction and supervision of licensed qualified therapists and need to have a broad knowledge base about human development and the human body. Students in the RA program learn about anatomy, biochemistry, body mechanics and physiology.

In addition, client care is emphasized in the program and there is strong focus on therapeutic exercise and use of advanced technological equipment. RA students also develop strong communication skills and record management abilities.

“Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential,” adds Sayuno. “RAs should also be compassionate and committed to helping people reach their maximum potential.”

CDI College is now taking applications for the Rehabilitation Assistant diploma program. PORTLAND, OR AND MADISON, WI (PRWEB) June 11, 2003

Now more than ever, knowledge is the difference between success and failure in investing for retirement. That's why 401khelpcenter. com and Precision Information, LLC have teamed up to provide 401khelpcenter. com users with The Educated Investor Center. The Educated Investor Center is designed to give individuals the knowledge they need to become a successful 401(k) investor.

"The greatest need for financial education is among people who participate in defined contribution plans at work," said Joe Saari, president of Precision Information. "Millions of people are facing challenging investment choices with very little preparation or experience. Our partnership with 401khelpcenter. com is an effective way to put the power of financial education in the hands of employees and the plan sponsors who serve them," Saari said.

Of American workers questioned in a recent survey sponsored by the Employee Benefit Research Institute and the American Savings Education Council, the vast majority (89 percent) describe their personal knowledge of investing or saving for retirement as less than comprehensive, and nearly half (43 percent) state they possess no better than limited knowledge.

In response to the survey question: How confident are you that you (and your spouse) are doing a good job of preparing financially for your retirement? - Only 24 percent replied they are "very" confident, while 29 percent are either "not too (confident)" or "not at all (confident)."

"As all the studies show, most employees are poorly prepared to make decisions about their retirement investments," said Rick Meigs, President of 401khelpcenter. com, LLC. “The addition of The Educated Investor Center will continue our emphasis on helping the 401(k) plan participant become a better retirement planner and investor,” Meigs said.

Developed by Precision Information, the Educated Investor Center focuses on three primary course topics: financial planning, investment strategy, and mutual funds. Each course has tutorials that cover a range of important topics.

Salt Lake City's Chad Young Fires Final Round 64 to Capture Eighth Annual Mesquite Amateur

Salt Lake City's Chad Young Fires Final Round 64 to Capture Eighth Annual Mesquite Amateur

More than 500 golfers converge on Mesquite, Nevada to participate in four days one of the nation's most popular amateur golf events

Las Vegas, NV (Vocus) June 11, 2010

The eighth annual Mesquite Amateur golf tournament is history after attracting more than 500 entrants while also bringing immense fanfare to a city 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas.

Played May 31-June 4 on six courses, the event drew entrants from 41 states along with Canada and England. If ever there was an ideal way to generate business during a down economy, the Mesquite Amateur was it.

Salt Lake City Fed Ex driver Chad Young, who has played in each of the Mesquite Amateur events, fired a champion round 64 Friday to win the tournament at the CasaBlanca Golf Course.

The top female in was runner up Naarah Turpen, a resident of Tucson, Ariz., who scored a 65.

“I have won my flight twice but never come close to winning the tournament,” Young said. “Today my strength was my putting. I couldn’t putt on Wednesday.”

Young said there are many factors that keep him coming back to the Mesquite Amateur. He played the Canyons Tuesday, CasaBlanca on Wednesday and Falcon Ridge on Thursday before returning for the final round to the CasaBlanca.

“There are a lot of things that bring me back,” he said. “The people you meet here are fantastic and so are the volunteers.”

Young, 46, and his wife, Holly, both played in the tournament. In fact they play couples tournaments several times a year.

“It’s a lot of fun to play golf together,” said Young. “Holly finished fourth in her flight and in the eight years we have been playing the tournament, she has only missed the top four one time.”

Five golfers tied for third with 66s on the final day including Jim Breymeyer of Yakima, Wash.; Tanya Fasanella of Playa Del Rey, Calif.; Judith Handa of Carson City, Nev.; Jeff Moenck of Longview, Wash.; and Clayton Yakubow of Marysville, Wash.

Sponsored by Golf Mesquite Nevada along with the Mesquite Resort Association, the tournament showcased Mesquite courses CasaBlanca, Palms, Falcon Ridge, Oasis Palmer, Oasis Canyons; and The Chase at Coyote Springs in what had to be the best collection of golf courses in the country.

The brainchild of Black Gaming Director of Sales Ann Sunstrum, the Mesquite Amateur featured more than golf considering that an action-filled schedule included Yoga, a margarita mix off, Zumba, a poker tournament and a gathering called “Cigars Under the Stars.”

Yet another huge selling point was the nightly dinner gatherings in the CasaBlanca Event Center where the food, refreshments and film of each day’s golf kept everyone enlightened.

Rated the second-largest amateur golf tournament in the country behind the World Am in Myrtle Beach, S. C., the Mesquite Amateur is expected to grow even more considering how many first-time players (a) entered and (b) committed to return in 2011.

Among the first-timers at the tournament was the Montross, Va., foursome of Gerald Bryan, 63, his wife Ruth; Charlie Beard and Terry McNeil.

“We found out about the tournament at the World Am,” Bryan said. “Yes sir, we’ll be back. The golf was awesome and the people were some of the nicest I have met.”

Ron Marshall journeyed to Mesquite for the first time from Broomfield, Colo., and he, too, said he would be back.

“I played as bad as I ever have before and enjoyed every bit of it,” said Marshal adding that Coyote Springs proved especially challenging. “I’ll be back, for sure.”

Grover Garvin, 71, and his buddy and former barber Arnie Fields, 71, both of Oakland, Calif., were among the event’s biggest fans.

“It really was a lot of fun,” said Garvin, a former University of California-Berkeley football coach who has played in all of the Mesquite Am events.

“I love this place,” said Fields. “The Coyote Springs course was as tough as anything I have every played. I sure struggled with it.”

The CasaBlanca Golf Club hosted the event’s final round action and Director of Golf Operations Bob Ault said the response was all good.

“It’s been a great tournament,” said Ault. “Everyone seems happy and I have been impressed with the amount of people who said they loved playing The Chase at Coyote Springs.”

Canadian brothers Neil and Paul MacKinnon played in the tournament for the first time playing the Els flight. Neil had a net 70 while Paul had a net 71.

“We found out about the tournament from Golf Digest and also at the World Am,” said Neil MacKinnon, 42, of Toronto. “This is the best amateur tournament I have seen and I have played in a few. You have smaller groups, the tournament is more organized and there are plenty of prizes not to mention that your food and hospitality sponsors were top-notch.”

Paul MacKinnon, 44, of Calgary Alberta added “The golf courses are way different than back home. Desert golf is five-star, for sure, and it’s recommended world-wide for anyone to come play. We will be back next year with three other Canadians.

“I mean, show me another amateur golf tournament where they feed you steak and lobster for dinner.”

One big example of the camaraderie of the tournament was a deep friendship between golfing friends Ralph Niau and Don Newey both of Green River, Wyo.

Newey, who was playing in his third Mesquite Amateur, journeyed to Mesquite again although suffering from a liver disorder.

Niau, a conductor with Union Pacific Railroad, won his division and donated his trophy to Newey.

“Don first entered the tournament before deciding to pull out in March when his health worsened,” explained Niau. “Then, he decided to come in May after surgery for his liver disorder. He played the entire tournament but went home early the last day.”

Full results from the tournament can be found at www. mesquiteamateur. com.

Latest Trend to Lose Weight: Nutritional Body Cleansing

Latest Trend to Lose Weight: Nutritional Body Cleansing

Most of us are exposed to doctors, hospitals and taught to take prescription medication (drugs) to treat the symptoms of the life illnesses and weight loss. Through the use of natural body cleansing dietary supplements our bodies are now able to worn off extra fat and unwanted toxins. Isagenix 30 day cleansing products have released a 30 day plan that allows for natural ways of colonic cleansing to lose weight and detox the body naturally.

Columbus, OH (Vocus) November 20, 2009

Symptoms of a modern diet — such as rosacea, Crohn's, IBS, acne, allergies, dandruff, joint pain, dry skin, gall stones, fibromyalgia, ulcers, constipation, candida, eczema, acid reflux, colitis and psoriasis to name a few — are a reflection of internal conditions that ones way of eating and diet has created. More importantly, these symptoms can be relieved by natural methods through changing, what types of food we purchase, then how we cook and what we eat. Isagenix 30 day plan has been released to assist in naturally cleansing the body.

More and more of us have already heard about nutritional cleansing, or have known a friend who said they were "on a cleanse". This is not a new concept among humankind. It by no means "new age", and it wasn't invented last year or even last century. All ancient civilizations have included or performed cleansing often associated with tribal rituals. In many parts of the world.

Still, in today’s world not nearly as many people know about colonic cleansing (http://www. cleansingandnutrition. com/) is still practiced by many cultures. In fact it's just an essential part of basic human biology that we have left out of our modern health equation. What if in nature, the foods pre-existing on earth, could make a profound improvement in ones health – one you could actually feel and see improvements by making simple change in what you eat?

Still, in today’s world not nearly as many people know about nutritional cleansing (http://www. cleansingandnutrition. com/) and its ability to be the most effective tool for recovering health. Yet there is good news, more and more Nutritionists and Doctors are recommending nutritional cleansing, along with a cleansing diet because they recognize the role nutritional cleansing plays maintaining health, mitigate risks of contracting disease, reducing or eliminating symptoms maladies, aches and pain through nutrition and cleansing.

Sounds farfetched? A recent interview with Dewayne Wong, with CleansingandNutrition. com stated, “I was very sick for a long time. My body was polluted with man toxins and daily prescriptions were not working. I was prescribed drugs from my doctor over the course of 2-3 years. Day in and day out I took pills. I went to a seminar on natural nutritional cleansing (http://www. cleansingandnutrition. com/30-day-cleanse. htm) and reviewed multiple web articles on this type of diet. I said I needed help, and my daily pills weren’t making me feel overly 'well.' That was 2 years ago, and today, I am off medication and purely using nutritional cleansing and digestion as a means to keep healthy.”

Isagenix nutritional cleansing (http://www. cleansingandnutrition. com/30-day-cleanse. htm) is like giving the inside of ones body a bath. People would never consider not bathing, brushing their teeth or washing their hair. Nothing comes close to a internal bath of our organs, tissue, cells, digestive tract, liver, kidneys, lungs, brain, muscles, fat — not drugs, surgery, facial skin cleansing (http://www. cleansingandnutrition. com/isadermix. htm) vitamins, supplements, expensive therapy, compared to the potential for cellular repair through cleansing.

Nutritional cleansing is a proven, food-based system that flushes the body with real food and concentrated nutrition throughout each day. Nutrition is a daily requirement – not weekly or monthly, once a year – DAILY the body needs nutrition to stay healthy a vibrant. Replacing up to 2 meals daily augmented with organic meats, vegetables, fruits and grains. The entire program is designed to help remove built-up waste material, and then feed the cells plant source minerals, with health digestive bacteria (pro-biotics), & enzymes along with natural fiber, amino acids and plant source vitamins for total nutrition. The $3.00 per meal 30-Day Nutritional Cleansing Program works internally by removing built-up metabolic waste, and radically increasing the amount of 254 nutrients that penetrate the cell walls, flushing out the toxins, then feeding the cells nutrition.

Moisture Limited expands market reach to the west coast with its residential products.

(PRWEB) November 27, 2002

Alpharetta, GA -- 11/25/2002 -- This agreement enables Moisture Limited to now focus on the dealer expansion phase of its' operation. "We are excited about the dealer expansion phase of our plan which will take us well beyond 2003", said Jeannine Maycott, President of Moisture Limited. With this complete product line and the leadership of Moisture Limited we can expand our business tremendously over the next year said Gary Gee, CEO of GK Products.

The complete residential product line consists of Mega Fresh and Mega Freeze used to increase the life of your produce and perishables, Odor Stop used to eliminate odors, Awesome Air used to clean the air we breath, Fisherman's Friend used in fisherman's tackle box to keep the lures from rusting and Gun Guard which is used in gun safes/cases so that guns and ammunition does not rust. All great gifts for the holidays.

Chef David Nelson, CEO of Chef2Chef. com said, "I have to tell you this story. As you know I have one of your Mega Fresh systems in my refrigerator. Here is a testimonial as to how well it works. I picked my scallions from my garden on September 26th and put them in my vegetable crisper drawer in our refrigerator. I'm still using them and it's only days away from Thanksgiving. Scallions! I can only attribute this type of shelf life to your product. Best $30 I ever spent!"

All of these products are 100% all natural minerals that are made for people who are concerned about the environment, their health, the quality of their food, and the air they breath. Think about how many times you had to throw out a head of lettuce, squash or those lemons you forgot about. All of these items could have lasted between 2-4 weeks total instead of the 3-5 days they do today. Food & ice cubes will taste better and last longer as well as reduce compressor cycling in the refrigerator/freezer, which will lower maintenance costs and energy consumption. The mineral compositions are non-toxic and use solar energy for recharging.
