Fastrack e-Commerce Storefront -- Now Handles Insurance for HME & DME Patients

Fastrack is the leading provider of HME Software, Respiratory Software, Infusion Pharmacy Software and Home Healthcare Agency Software as well as technology, offering the only integrated homecare system addressing the needs of all these business lines in one system.

Plainview, NY (Vocus) September 22, 2009

Fastrack Healthcare Systems, Inc. (http://www. onlyfastrack. com) announced today the availability of a new version of their e-Commerce Storefront (http://www. onlyfastrack. com/storefront. htm) for DME providers. The new version includes enhanced capabilities including the ability for the patient to “pay” with their insurance. The patient can provide insurance and physician information as well as their credit card to cover the co-pay.

The Fastrack e-Commerce Storefront offers HME (http://www. onlyfastrack. com/hme. htm) providers a full solution for a professional Internet presence to start generating additional revenue with their own storefront 24/7! To fully automate the Storefront, Internet orders are seamlessly passed to the Fastrack Order Entry and Fastrack Patient Intake (http://onlyfastrack. com/preadmission_intake. htm) modules in the Fastrack software. To populate the Storefronts product offerings, data including product number, description, price, etc. can be automatically pulled from the Fastrack database eliminating the need to key in this information.

“Unlike most cookie-cutter shopping cart solutions, we believe that the medical equipment provider’s e-Commerce Storefront should be as unique and as personal as they want to match their unique business positioning and business philosophy. So Fastrack provides almost total control over the visual appearance of the Storefront pages,” indicated Spencer Kay, President of Fastrack.

The new insurance feature allows the patient to indicate that they want the items being ordered to be billed to their primary, secondary, etc. insurance and to provide physician information such that the provider can obtain the RX. The Fastrack Storefront can also accept all major credit and debit cards as well as PayPal.

According to Kay, “Fastrack sees the e-Commerce Storefront as an example of how we are helping Home Care providers succeed in the present economic climate by providing a turnkey solution that can quickly generate revenue. In 2009, Fastrack will introduce a significant number of revenue generating, cost saving and productivity enhancing product features and services.”

The Storefront can also be linked directly to the Fastrack Web Portal (http://onlyfastrack. com/web_portal. htm) which allows doctors, nurses, therapist, sales reps, clients and referral sources access to enter and view data based on user defined criteria. The Web Portal can help facilitate DME billing, HME billing, Medical Equipment billing, Infusion Pharmacy billing and Home Care billing.

The Fastrack Storefront provides support for informational catalog only sites. A simple configuration setting removes all "buy" buttons from the site, in effect turning the site into an informational site, still complete with categories, subcategories, sections, product info, medical equipment, products and supplies, photos, etc.

Northern Cincinnati Convention & Visitors Bureau's CincyNorth. com Web Site Gets a Facelift

The Northern Cincinnati Convention & Visitors Bureau’s (NCCVB) CincyNorth. com web site has recently received an impressive facelift from the creative minds of Aranzamendez Design, who is also responsible for the company’s new brand identity and 2006 marketing campaign.

Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) October 3, 2006

The Northern Cincinnati Convention & Visitors Bureau’s (NCCVB) CincyNorth. com website has recently received an impressive facelift from the creative minds of Aranzamendez Design, who is also responsible for the company's new brand identity and 2006 marketing campaign. Thanks to the programming prowess of Midwest New Media, the site is now up and running.

Even upon first glance, the site's homepage is noticeably brighter, bolder, and attracts immediate attention. Plus all information is conveniently and efficiently organized. Both the color scheme and the organization are consistent with the brand's message: If you're looking for fun, look no further than Northern Cincinnati.

"The tagline is 'Fun in ever direction', so why shouldn't the website reflect the same idea?" said Creative Director Arlene Aranzamendez. "The style is family-friendly with lifestyle photos. The font is legible and the format is simple. The left banner features current events that visitors and families can enjoy. The site doesn't just say fun, it is fun."

The site, like the brand, is designed to appeal to young professionals doing business in the area as well as young families who like to travel.

"Obviously, we hope to increase traffic and interest in Northern Cincinnati," said Jeff Blom, Director of Marketing of NCCVB, "However, we also just want to share our knowledge to visitors who aren't familiar with the city. There's a lot to do here, you just have to know where to look."

Among its many impressive features, the site introduces visitors to all aspects of Cincinnati, including its nightlife, dining, and entertainment options. Visitors can also purchase tickets to events through the site. Business travelers can access information about the airport, local hotels, convention centers, and even a complete business directory. Companies whose employees frequently travel the area might be well advised to become a member and enjoy the many benefits the NCCVB offers.

The NCCVB aims to reach potential visitors in Indianapolis, Columbus, and other midwestern cities. With the addition of the new site, the brand has even farther-reaching potential. You can also find the new brand featured in a variety of advertisements and also in the Visitor's Guide and Business Traveler's Guide.

NAMI Sponsors Congressional Briefing to Raise Borderline Personality Disorder Awareness

NAMI Sponsors Congressional Briefing to Raise Borderline Personality Disorder Awareness

Leading mental health experts speak about challenges people living with BPD face

Arlington, VA (PRWEB) May 19, 2010

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI (http://www. nami. org)), together with the National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder, today sponsored a congressional briefing on Borderline Personality Disorder (http://www. nami. org/Template. cfm? Section=By_Illness&Template=/TaggedPage/TaggedPageDisplay. cfm&TPLID=54&ContentID=44780)(BPD).

Approximately two million Americans live with BPD. Those living with the illness often experience difficulty regulating emotions, maintaining personal relationships and in some extreme cases, individuals will engage in self-harm. The illness is a primary cause of suicide.

Leading mental health experts, including Thomas Insel, M. D., director of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and John Oldan, M. D., president-elect of the American Psychiatric Association (APA), spoke with the group about the challenges people living with BPD face and treatment options.

“Borderline personality disorder is a serious mental illness that can cause a lot of suffering, carries a significant risk of suicide and requires an accurate diagnosis along with targeted treatment,” said NAMI Executive Director Michael Fitzpatrick.

“We know that treatment works, but too often stigma discourages people with mental illness from getting the help that they need. Untreated mental illness has significant personal, social and economic implications. We urge Congress to increase funding of research, treatment and services for those living with BPD and their families.”

About NAMI
NAMI is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. NAMI has over 1100 state and local affiliates that engage in research, education, support and advocacy.

The MyPharmaRep. com suite of online tools plays the role of a virtual, vacant-territory, or white-space sales representative. AP9 Privacy Matters Offers Suggestions for Reducing Your Risk of “Friendly” Identity Theft

AP9 Privacy Matters Offers Suggestions for Reducing Your Risk of “Friendly” Identity Theft

AP9 Privacy Matters Offers Benefits That Can Help Safeguard Your Identity Against a Variety of Threats

Norwalk, CONN. (PRWEB) August 25, 2006

Identity theft is not just a crime perpetrated on strangers, reports AP9 Privacy Matters (http://www. privacymatters-program. com/), a leading security membership program offered by Adaptive Marketing LLC; it’s also increasingly a crime inflicted upon friends, neighbors, co-workers and family members.

According to recent studies looking at the link between criminals and their victims, identity thieves are just as likely to target their friends, co-workers and even relatives as they are to target strangers. In some ways, this makes sense: A friend or acquaintance of yours probably has easier access to your identifying information than a total stranger might. Beyond that, this person may be counting on his or her relationship with you to avoid being arrested or prosecuted for stealing your identity (victims of identity theft are more reluctant to have the perpetrator punished when it’s a family member or close friend), reports AP9 Privacy Matters (http://www. privacymatters-program. com/).

These “friendly” identity thieves are often driven by the same motives as unknown ID thieves: simple greed, an addiction that needs to be fed, disinterest in working for a living, or even perceived necessity or a desire for compensation. For instance, adult caregivers may justify the theft of a parent’s identity as an effort to purchase items needed to care for their parents, such as a car to drive the parent to and from medical appointments, or even a new wardrobe as “payback” for their efforts.

So what can you do to protect yourself from friends, family or acquaintances who may feel the urge to make off with your identity? AP9 Privacy Matters offers a few practical measures:

--Lock up your personal information. From Social Security cards and checkbooks to credit card and bank account statements, store all of your sensitive data in a locked filing cabinet, safe or safety deposit box. Be careful about sharing access to these documents; make sure you share it only with those people you truly trust.

--Lock down your computer. Password-protect any and all sensitive data -- especially financial information -- that you store on your PC. Your children may not be prone to stealing identities, but their friends might be.

--Treat your credit and debit cards like large sums of cash. Most folks wouldn’t hand over $400 to an acquaintance (at least, not without solid collateral). Credit and debit cards offer access to large amounts of money -- your money -- so protect them as you would cash. And for goodness sake, don’t share your PINs with anyone; that’s like leaving your front door open when you leave the house.

--Screen your help. From once-a-month cleaning services to your vacation housesitters/mail collectors, anyone who can access your home without supervision represents a potential threat. Just because your neighbor is “always home” doesn’t mean you can trust him to water your plants while you’re away. If need be, ask the post office (and any newspaper subscription service) to suspend their delivery when you’re traveling.

--Monitor your financial statements and credit reports regularly. Checking for unauthorized activity in these documents is one of the best ways to detect potential identity theft. You’re entitled to one free credit report from Equifax, Experian and TransUnion every year, but more frequent monitoring of credit reports, bank statements and credit card accounts can help you catch ID thieves more quickly. The sooner you uncover suspicious activity, the sooner you can stop it.

Identity theft is one of the fastest-growing crimes of the new millennium, and, unfortunately, it’s a get-rich-quick scheme that can appeal to even the people you love and trust. To be on the safe side, keep a close guard on all of your sensitive information, suggests AP9 Privacy Matters.

The Zone of Healing Multiple Sclerosis Patient Discovers a Healthy way to be Ill

The Zone of Healing Multiple Sclerosis Patient Discovers a Healthy way to be Ill

The first step in natural healing is connecting to inner resources. How you cope with a health struggle determines how effective your participation will be to support healing. You have powerful inner resources which healing demands; so become involved in healing.

Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) June 16, 2006

Marc Lerner has had multiple sclerosis for over 25 years. On June 15 Marc will talk to Cancer Services in Midland, Michigan. The title of his talk is; The Zone of Healing. The purpose of the presentation is to have those in a health crisis go beyond any limiting thoughts.

Lerner developed his talks from dealing with a chronic illness for over 25 years. Marc has multiple sclerosis and is legally blind with several other symptoms, yet he does not consider himself a victim. As he says in his talks, "Most people are legally blind looking within. My illness is quite a challenge, but it is not as bad as inner blindness."

The Zone of Healing talk in Michigan was designed specifically for Cancer Services to empower cancer patients. Life Skills help people deal with life challenging illness or a disability utilizing their inner resources. The Zone of Healing is similar to the well-known "Zone" state where athletes achieve. This is where they are totally in the moment and something greater than their everyday thinking mind choreographs their actions.

Marc believes that the Zone is not just reserved for exceptional athletes, but kids enter The Zone in their play often. Combat veterans talk about being in The Zone when their life was threatened, for no thought in their mind was more important than their life. Marc says that "If kids can play in The Zone and veterans of all types entered it; why can't a person dealing with cancer or a serious illness use that state of mind to heal?"

Marc Lerner shows people how to use the challenge of dealing with an illness or a disability as an opportunity to grow. The most important thing for a patient is to look at how one faces that challenge. Your focus can activate thoughts that depress you or your focus can activate powerful inner resources... it is your choice.

As he says, "If healing is more important, then why does your awareness stop at thinking? If you have a challenge that demands more from you than you were taught, go beyond your normal thinking mind and connect to your deeper inner wisdom. That may seem difficult to do, but children do it in their play often. Athletes do it; so why can't people facing a health challenge do it?"

Marc Lerner is the President of Life Skills Inc. and the author of The Life Skills Approach. For more information and a free e-book on how to cope with disabilities and chronic illness, please visit http://www. lifeskillsinc. com (http://www. lifeskillsinc. com)

Deck the (Office) Halls... Holiday Sensitivity and Celebration in the Workplace

In today’s multicultural workplace environment, holiday sensitivity no longer means simply putting a menorah next to the Christmas tree during the holiday season. Christmas, Hanukkah, Ramadan, Kwanzaa, and Bodhi Day all occur during the fall/winter, and while world political tensions rise, religious sensitivity issues can rise too. Employers challenged to show fairness, employee appreciation, and holiday spirit may be tempted to pull the plug on holiday celebrations altogether. However, there are ways to celebrate the season in the workplace with sensitivity, understanding and respect.

New York, NY (PRWEB) November 9, 2005

“Employers should strive to ensure that all of their employees’ unique cultural beliefs are equally represented and celebrated during the holiday season,” said Jennifer Loftus, SPHR, CCP, CBP, GRP, National Director, Astron Solutions.

There are a number of religious and cultural holidays that your employees may observe during the season. In order to encourage understanding of each, they are listed here with a short description.

Christmas - The most recognized and celebrated holiday occurs on December 25, the day that marks Jesus Christ’s birth. Over 3 billion Christians worldwide celebrate the holy birth by engaging in various customs and traditions, including singing, gift-giving, gathering with family and friends, and praying.

Hanukkah - “The Festival of Lights” celebrates the victory of the Maccabees, the rededication of the Temple of Jerusalem in 165 BC, and the miracle of the oil that burned for eight days. During the eight nights of Hanukkah, candles are lit in a menorah, which holds nine candles: one for each night, plus an extra used to light the other candles. Hanukkah is celebrated by performing traditional songs, enjoying fried foods, gift-giving, and praying.

Ramadan - Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, celebrates the first revelations given to the Prophet Muhammad. Muslims fast during Ramadan, health permitting. They do not eat, drink, smoke, or engage in sexual activity until sundown each day, using the daytime to concentrate on their faith, rather than on everyday concerns. The fast concludes with feasting, gift-giving, and praying.

Kwanzaa - Created in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga, a professor at California State University, Kwanzaa is a cultural, rather than religious, holiday celebrated from December 26 through January 1 by many African-Americans. The word Kwanzaa is Swahili for “first fruits of the harvest” and involves gathering family and friends to discuss and commit to seven guiding principles. Each day, a candle is lit signifying a principle - unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith. A feast is held on December 31 for remembering, reassessing and rejoicing.

Bodhi Day - Bodhi Day is usually observed December 8th or the Sunday preceding it. It celebrates the day of Prince Siddhartha Guatama’s realization and presentation to his fellow seekers of the Four Noble Truths. From that point forward, he was referred to as the Buddha, the enlightened one. Buddhists celebrate by stringing colored lights representing the numerous pathways to enlightenment, feasting on traditional foods and greeting each other with "Budu Saranai!" which loosely translated means, "May the serenity of the Buddha's be yours!"

When preparing for holiday festivities, ask your employees for input during the planning process. Encourage them to bring in decorations, and to share foods and holiday traditions.

Be sensitive to any fasting, dietary restrictions or scheduling conflicts due to religious observance, prior to planning. Don’t forget to offer vegetarian alternatives.

Make all holiday activities voluntary. Not all employees may feel comfortable celebrating, or may not be able to join in according to religious beliefs. Jehovah’s Witnesses, for example, do not celebrate holidays. Non-participation should not be viewed negatively.

It is recommended that office decorating guidelines be established ahead of time. Singing snowmen or paper garland that hangs precariously close to a light bulb may prove to be more distracting, and/or dangerous, than festive.

Remember, your organization can be held liable for injuries that occur on your property or at your sponsored functions. If you are planning on serving alcoholic beverages at your holiday party, it is wise to have designated drivers or a shuttle service in place prior to the festivities. In addition, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) suggests that employers have a cash, rather than open, bar for alcoholic beverages, to help cut back on the potential alcohol intake of partygoers. Also, be sure to provide plenty of fun seasonal drinks, such as non-alcoholic eggnog and hot apple cider, in addition to soft drinks and juices.

Once your plans are in place, be sure to enjoy this time of year. Providing your employees with the opportunity to mix and mingle is a wonderful way to increase workplace camaraderie. When handled with sensitivity and respect, workplace festivities can result in an uplifting combination of unity, cultural understanding, and joy for your team, which is truly a celebration of the spirit of the season.

Find the Perfect Diet For You

Find the Perfect Diet For You

A food diary may be the secret to weight loss success. It can help users clarify the real reasons why they overeat.

South Beach (PRWEB) March 29, 2004

Dr. Phil. Atkins. How can you decide which diet will help you write the final chapter in your weight loss success story? For years, Rhonda, a 29 year-old nurse, in Greensboro, North Carolina bounced from one diet to another before she experienced any permanent results. How was she able to reverse this trend? "It was not until I began using a food diary was I able to get a clear picture of the foods that were causing my problem. Once I did that I was able to select a diet that addressed my problem, and I finally got the results I wanted," she says.

Jackie Stanley author of LETTUCE IS NOT ENOUGH, a monthly recordkeeping system for weight loss, says, "record what you eat in a food diary is a small thing that can help dieters succeed on whatever plan they choose." Because the biggest complaint with keeping a food diary is tedium, each page of LETTUCE IS NOT ENOUGH contains inspirational quotes and words of motivation.

LETTUCE IS NOT ENOUGH is availabe through the website, www. lettuceisnotenough. com.

LETTUCE IS NOT ENOUGH is one of the most effective and complete guides to promote normal weight and healthy living I have seen, says Mary Martha Smoak MS, RD, LDN, Patient Educator and Nutritionist at Wake Forest University Medical Center.

Ignoring Corporate Jestership Can Make You the April Fool

Ignoring Corporate Jestership Can Make You the April Fool

While April 1st may be set aside for pranks and tomfoolery in your company, the cruelest joke may be the one that already exists year round. Today, the average person in an organization is aware of less than half of the thinking and concerns held by the rest of its members. Corporate Jesters have learned and adopted a perspective and set of behaviors to illuminate and address those hidden truths.

Santa Clara, CA (PRWEB) March 12, 2007

While April 1st may be set aside for pranks and tomfoolery in your company, the cruelest joke may be the one that already exists year round. The average person in an organization today is aware of less than half of the thinking and concerns held by the rest of its members. This gap in knowledge can include information about how one is perceived, truth about customer issues, insight into organizational health or the true status of staff morale. The list goes on and on.

In fact, the phrase "Iceberg of Ignorance" has been commonly used to give a visual metaphor for the concept that individuals are only aware of a small chunk of the truth that actually exists around them. The iceberg concept implies that in any given organization the group of people that deal most closely with any particular issue will likely be aware of 100% of the aspects of that issue, but as one moves up towards the top layers of management, the awareness level decreases sharply (about 75% of the aspects identified by supervisors and about 10% identified by general managers). At the very top, at the leadership level, the awareness rate can drop to only 5%!

Far too often, in response, people surround themselves with assistants, committees and advisers charged with providing them with truth. However, in the competitive environment often found in organizations today, those groups become filled with "yes men" (and "yes women") who end up mirroring other's thoughts and perceptions, fearful of disagreeing and assuming that blindly supporting what they think is the "group perspective" is the best way to keep their jobs. This lack of organizational truth at all levels in an organization creates an environment in which people consistently make decisions and take actions that miss the mark. No matter how highly advanced their leadership skills or decision making abilities, if they lack the full picture, the truth, their decisions and actions will always be flawed.

Truly a foolish situation for your organization.

David Riveness, in his insightful and entertaining business leadership book, The Secret Life of the Corporate Jester, addresses this dilemma by revealing how to adopt and apply a "jester's perspective" in order to illuminate and address organizational truth. True Jestership, Riveness explains, is not about wearing colorful costumes and entertaining others with jokes, but is, instead, a unique perspective into organizational diagnosis and truth telling. Historically, in the royal courts of old, jesters, who had no political aspirations and were given wide leeway in what they were allowed to say, spoke truth when others couldn't or wouldn't. In fact, in many cases, Jesters slowly transformed into highly valued advisors as they were recognized for their ability to contribute information unavailable from any other source.

Modern corporate jesters have learned to leverage these perspective and behaviors. They uncover and address blind spots in thinking and action in their own organizations, creating a opportunity for enhanced success at all levels. Jestership can be understood and adopted by anyone, regardless of their role or position, to bring about remarkable positive change within any organization's culture, leadership and results.

This April, make sure the foolishness in your organization is limited to 24 hrs by exploring how to create and encourage Jestership.

(PRWEB) September 9, 2003

Jerry Binder, owner of HotSpot for Birds, died of complications from pneumonia on July 29th. Jerry brought his love of birds to the Internet over eight years ago, in the early days of surfing the web. As an authority on avian matters, he wanted the web site to provide information of keeping pet birds healthy and safe. The various articles available on the web site (http://www. hotspot4birds. com (http://www. hotspot4birds. com)) are frequently referenced by other avian websites and bird clubs.

Jerry was an avid animal lover. Even as a child, he raised birds with his brother. Later, he became intensely involved with aquarium fish. He was one of the first people in Philadelphia to successfully set up saltwater aquariums. His enthusiasm for both fresh and saltwater fish never diminished.

In the sixties, Jerry trained animals for the movie industry. His parrots were used in films such as Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte and The Great Race. He provided monkeys for Sex and the Single Girl and fish for many movies and television programs.

His only regret was that he was not able to become a veterinarian. He did, however, care for many kinds of animals. He was also regularly called on to rescue homeless or mistreated animals, particularly birds and dogs. He was able to nurse many back to health and provide good homes for them.

Although Jerry will no longer be personally handling birds and answering questions, HotSpot for Birds (http://www. hotspot4birds. com (http://www. hotspot4birds. com)) and its sister web site, airfilterstore. com (http://www. airfilterstore. com (http://www. airfilterstore. com)), will continue to be found on the Internet.

HeadMinder Cognitive Stability Index: Computerized Neurocognitive Screening Tool Validated for Concussion Detection in Combat Settings

HeadMinder Cognitive Stability Index: Computerized Neurocognitive Screening Tool Validated for Concussion Detection in Combat Settings

The HeadMinder web-based Cognitive Stability Index (CSI) has proven more useful for blast-concussion detection than the ANAM computerized test battery the DoD currently employs. The CSI provides an immediate solution to clear the backlog of 400,000 IED-exposed service members in less than two years.

New York, NY (PRWEB) October 16, 2008

On October 12 at the International Conference on Behavioral Health and Traumatic Brain Injury, St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, Paterson, NJ, HeadMinder, Inc., presented results of the first Military IRB-approved prospective study to be conducted in-Theater.

The study compared the HeadMinder Cognitive Stability Index (CSI) computerized test battery and the Department of Defense (DoD) Automated Neuropsychological Assessment Metric (ANAM) with the Repeatable Battery for Assessment of Neuropsychological Symptoms (RBANS), a paper-and-pencil neurocognitive test currently used by the DoD to screen soldiers.

The study was designed by Lt. Col. (sep.) Gerald Grant, MD (USAF), Maj. William Isler, PhD (USAF), Maj. Monty Baker, PhD (USAF), David Erlanger, PhD (Chief Scientific Officer and co-Founder of HeadMinder), Tanya Kaushik, PsyD, and Col. Robert Seegmiller (USAF). The objective was to determine the validity and reliability of both computerized screening measures as compared to the RBANS.

The CSI was accurate in assessing the severity of cognitive compromise following concussive blast injuries. The CSI Total Score correlated very strongly with the RBANS Total Score (.789) and also showed strong concurrent validity with the RBANS in the domains of Attention (.706) and Memory (.680), domains critical in the assessment of blast-related concussion. ANAM was not useful for identifying memory problems, the domain most frequently impaired on the RBANS, and only a subset of ANAM measures seemed useful for screening attention problems.

The CSI is a 30-minute, Internet-based, computerized test that provides automated, objective measures of attention, memory, response speed, and processing speed for initial evaluation of cognitive functioning. The CSI produces standardized reports that enable triage and decision-making appropriate to a user's qualifications - from medic to neuropsychologist to neurologist and other treatment team members.

Dr. David Erlanger, Chief Scientific Officer of HeadMinder, commented, "The CSI has now been shown, under combat conditions, to be the only telemedicine tool capable of serving the needs of the armed services. Especially given the large backlog of unscreened service members exposed to blasts, the HeadMinder System offers a simple, accurate, and objective screening method that can play a key role in identifying and treating servicemen and servicewomen with undiagnosed brain injuries. The CSI is unique in its ability to track improvement over time as soldiers travel between the Military Health Systems and the Veterans Administration and civilian medical resources. We believe the HeadMinder platform provides the Department of Defense the opportunity to fully comply with the Wounded Warriors Act by screening and tracking exposed service members' long-term well-being. If implemented today, the entire backlog could be cleared in less than two years."

The study was initially funded by the Henry M. Jackson Foundation. After funding was discontinued, the study was completed with funding provided by PanMedix, Inc., and HeadMinder, Inc.

PanMedix was founded in New York City in 1999. Initially focused on the development and deployment of assessment software, the company has evolved to encompass a full range of pharmaceutical and medical assessment services.

Founded in New York City in 1999, HeadMinder is a technology company that is dedicated to the development of Internet-based neurocognitive assessment tools. HeadMinder tests have been shown to be valid and reliable instruments for evaluating cognitive deficits in a range of injuries and illnesses, including concussion, mild-to-moderate TBI, Multiple Sclerosis, ADHD, Alzheimer's Disease, and chemotherapy-induced cognitive dysfunction in cancer patients.

By holding regular seminar sessions over the internet, supported by virtual communication and networking tools, InterNanotech is designed to facilitate rapid communication of new research results and discoveries between different disciplines and geographic regions.

Zeiningen, Switzerland, (PRWEB) September 6, 2004

Douglas Connect announces the launch of InterNanotech, a new online community for international researchers in computational and experimental nanoscience and nanotechnology. By holding regular seminar sessions over the internet, supported by virtual communication and networking tools, InterNanotech is designed to facilitate rapid communication of new research results and discoveries between different disciplines and geographic regions.

The scientific advisory board is headed by Prof. Nick Quirke of Imperial College, London, who emphasized “Nanotech is such a large field, encompassing most if not all scientific disciplines, that it is vital to have a forum in which it is possible to make new contacts easily and exchange information and news as rapidly as possible. I think the concept of the InterNanotech community will make a vital contribution to this end.” Dr. Jurgen Schulte, Executive Director of the Asia Pacific Nanotechnology Forum went on to say, “A vibrant manufacturing industry depends on its ability to adapt swiftly to a changing market and its long term viability and future depends on its ability to pro-actively engage in innovation. Nanotechnology is about to become one of the key driving forces in a new cycle of innovation in Asia and around the world.”

Prof. Quirke and Dr Schulte were speaking from Broome, Australia where they are currently at the Pacific Rim Conference in Nanoscience, which starts today and is being chaired by Prof. Quirke. InterNanotechÂ’s first activity is to make this conference available over the internet, not only as an online record for the participants during and after the conference, but also for all the people who were unable to attend in person. Presentations will be recorded and uploaded daily, along with the accompanying presentation materials. The conference includes contributions from leading researchers in the Pacific Region, in addition to invited speakers from Europe and the USA, and contains a significant amount of advanced chemistry and physics applied to nanotech research problems. InterNanotech is also giving a talented young scientist from India, Dr B. L.V. Prasad of the National Chemical Laboratory Nanoscience Group, a unique opportunity to present his work on the synthesis of metal magnetic nanoparticles.

“I was overjoyed when my abstract was accepted for a hot-spot lecture at the conference in Australia, but I wasn’t able to raise the funds to travel there,” said Dr Prasad, who continued, “I cannot express how thrilled I was when I learned that I would still be able to hear the lectures through the virtual conference, and I could also present my work to an international audience from right here in India. I really hope this concept picks up!”

Later in the year, members of the InterNanotech community will also be able to join a session on "Modeling of Membranes and Ion Channels," chaired by Dr. Richard Pastor of the FDA Center for Biologics Evaluation & Research. InterNanotech will continue throughout 2005 with regular seminar sessions covering topics related to nanofluidics, nanobiology, nanofabrication, nanoparticles, computational nanoscience, nanomaterials, nanodevices, nanoelectronics, molecular manufacturing, activated carbon and zeolite design, self-assembly, health, safety, environmental and medical applications.

“There’s no question that the future of ambulatory care is being able to do more with less. We believe that for the thousands of medical professionals who log into simplifyMD every day to manage more than 35 million electronic medical records, these certifications are further validation that 'meaningful use,' doesn’t have to cripple the physician with productivity losses at the point of care or the practice with debt. I’m especially proud of our team’s devotion to customers’ success,” said Matt Ethington, President of simplifyMD.

The ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that Complete EHRs meet all of the 2011/2012 criteria and EHR Modules meet one or more – but not all – of the criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) for either eligible provider or hospital technology.

“CCHIT is pleased to be testing and certifying products so that companies are now able to offer these products to providers who wish to purchase and implement certified EHR technology and achieve meaningful use in time for the 2011-2012 incentives,” said Karen M. Bell, M. D., M. S.S., Chair, CCHIT.

SimplifyMD SP12’s certification number is CC-1112-311000-1. ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification conferred by CCHIT does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHR technology by the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services nor does is guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.

AP9 Privacy Matters 123 Says, "Wise up" -- Identity Theft is Real

AP9 Privacy Matters 123 Says, "Wise up" -- Identity Theft is Real

AP9 PrivacyMatters123 urges consumers to safeguard personal records and practice home security.

Norwalk, CT (PRWEB) April 18, 2007

AP9 Privacy Matters 123 (http://www. privacymatters123-program. com/), a leading membership program offered by Adaptive Marketing LLC, offers its members advice and insights on how to stop today's identity thieves.

Just as it once was in old espionage films, disposing of top-secret and sensitive personal documents is now more important than ever. AP9 PrivacyMatters123 (http://www. privacymatters123-program. com/PrivacyMatters123_ResourceCenter. html) reminds consumers that more than 27 million people have had their identities stolen in the last five years.

Identity thieves are opportunists, and they'll do anything to make a dishonest buck. For that reason, AP9 Privacy Matters 123 counts identity theft prevention among its key missions. Here are four pivotal tips to help stop burglars from stealing your identity:

-- Chop it up. Don't throw it out. Keep thieves from turning trash into cash. Don't get careless with personal records. Invest in a document-shredding machine, and don't leave sensitive materials lying around. The greatest handwriting analyst in the world can't decipher information that simply isn't there.

-- "Dumpster divers" swim in the deep end. Thieves known as "dumpster divers" make a career out of literally picking through garbage -- looking for partially legible credit card applications, receipts and canceled checks. Recycling this information is dishonest, risky and illegal, but lucrative. Don't become a statistic. Keep private documents private, and dumpster divers will get the idea -- the information pool is definitely closed.

-- Outfox the fox. Practicing smart home security can actually be fun. Part of the deal is learning to act like a thief -- to out-think them at their own game. Start with common sense. If you're scheduled to leave town, don't advertise: Put lights on timers, stop newspaper delivery, and ask a neighbor to pick up the mail.

-- Make sure it's the one and only you. It may sound a little "cloak and dagger," but there are people out there who have stolen millions masquerading as someone else. To keep this from happening, safely store any documents that list your Social Security number separate from a wallet, billfold or pocket book. Making a Social Security number readily available to other people sends a simple, two-word invitation -- "steal me."

Don't get caught in what is fast becoming the classic identity theft trap. Plain and simple, IT CAN happen to you. Take the necessary steps to protect personal information by heeding these crucial, safeguarding tips from AP9 PrivacyMatters123.

Molestation is Not a Death Sentence

Molestation is Not a Death Sentence

Linda Wattley, Author of Molested Angel says "If you have been molested you must understand you are under the influence of mixed signals. These mixed signals are the reason you can’t seem to find peace within yourself. I have a growing philosophy that arose from my writing Daddy's Girl that gives us solid keys of transformation from victimization to individualization with a twist of hope." Join her as she discusses her book Molested Angel with the Velvet Voice of Size Diversity on the Size Matters, Too Radio Show the week of March 20, 2005. Tune in 24/7 online/ondemand at www. sizematterstoo. com

(PRWEB) March 18, 2005

Imagine awakening in a world unknown to you. In this world there’s one main voice familiar to you. It’s the voice of your mother. With this voice you are given the strength to allow the human development process to make you more conscious of this world. For those who don’t hear this familiar voice, the journey is more difficult.

In her writings, you will rediscover your primitive emotions and feelings that separate us from the rest of the animal kingdom. These feelings and emotions have been buried deep within our souls due to early experiences of pain. Sexuality and sensuality are the most primitive sensations existing in human beings. How these sensations are introduced and exercised determines our individuality and outlook on life. When you are a child, every touch is registered deep within your soul. This is why it is human nature to want, need and share touching. The lack of touching, immoral touching and random touching promises a life of desperation.

Because touching is such a powerful tool, this world uses the word love to justify touching one another to fulfill their physical needs. Wattley takes you to your soul and in that arrival; you rediscover a more real connection with humanity. You realize you do not suffer alone. The characters in this book derive from the reservoirs of her soul. If you have ever been touched, you too have a reservoir of characters screaming to express themselves. Memory spoken is not the only memory by which we function.

Wattley believes we are so naturally empowered with the ability to communicate with one another that we don’t allow ourselves to be selective in what we communicate. For instance, touching is a sacred opportunity to heal, nurture and uplift one another. However, we choose to touch for self-gratification not knowing this touch is unhealthy for the recipient. Because it is more of a taking than giving, it leaves the object of interest with less of their soul.

She believes that we daily operate on automatic pilot as we seek understanding of what it means to be alive and in this world. It’s amazing how we survive pain and unjust experiences here. Leona, one of the main characters in her book is a young girl who shares her inner search to find understanding of life and God. The people in her life are ordinary people with hidden pain and a need to be loved. Their past brought them to their present existence. The question of right or wrong does nothing to heal the soul. However, the search to know and prove there is much more to life than meet the eyes is our natural instinct to survive.

God, love, sex and pain are key elements that determine our state of mind. These key elements determine how we treat one another. Who would admit it was sex that assisted in their awakening to the reality of God? Or, who would admit it was pain that turned them away from God? Also, who would admit it was love that gave the okay to stand naked before another human being? It is this silence of our secret choices that she believes created the dilemma that life is unkind.

Though the characters in her book suffer early in life, they never give up on hope, love and freedom. Some kind of a way they find the right understanding to get to the next level of understanding. Their realities become your realities as you remember the natural processes that make us who and what we are today. Sometimes remembering is reassembling our inner soul that we may start again. Wattley believes life has a matrix. It started the day we were born. In that matrix you will find yourself again and life will have a new meaning.

Wattley believes life is not over because molestation occurs. As a woman of size, Wattley has always been considered a big girl. It was not until later in life she learned it is believed our physical ailments are a direct result of our psychological perceptions of ourselves. Where obesity is concerned, it is also believed you subconsciously feel a need to be protected from others and life and that is often achieved through building a comfort barrier by allowing your body size to become large.

Wattley personally did not entertain the thought she needed protection though she's a large woman. However considered it a possibility since she felt unprotected as a child after being molested. Wattley learned no matter what the reasons may be that made you the person you are today, there is still so much more that makes you who you are!

If you have been molested you must understand you have come under the influence of mixed signals Snydrome. Mixed signals are the reason you can’t seem to find peace. Wattley obtained a growing philosophy that arose from her writing Daddy's Girl that gives us solid keys of transforming from "victimization" to "individualization" with a twist of hope.

Wattley stresses--to "move on in life," you must first realize what you're "moving on from." It is easy to call it molestation but it is so much more than that. Join Linda Wattley as she shares her insights and experiences that led to the creation of “Daddy's Girl” in an intimate discussion with Veronica Cook-Euell, the Velvet Voice of Size Diversity, on "Size Matters, Too" www. sizematterstoo. com the week of March 20th. Remember, you are chosen to do great things!

Community Style Acupuncture will consist of:

Acupuncture needles on ears only  Treatment to help reduce stress and anxiety; help with trouble sleeping; provide a general sense of well-being and make you feel better.  30 – 45 minute treatment  Done in a group  All needles are pre-packaged, sterile, and disposed of after use.

Donations for treatments will go to AWB’s work in Louisiana. Suggested donation per treatment is $20.00.

An August 2, 2006 article in the The Times-Picayune states: “In a grim assessment of mental health in post-Katrina New Orleans, two New Orleans psychiatrists say the condition is critical and warn that it probably won't get better anytime soon. Depression and post-traumatic stress disorder are common complaints, but most mental health professionals have left the city…they write in today's issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association.”

The focus of AWB’s work in Lousiana is to help with stress and trauma. The testimonials from those who have received these treatments point to their success and the urgency for more (you can find testimonials and more information on the organization at www. acuwithoutborders. org).

Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) October 18, 2009

A new and comprehensive benefits textbook titled "Benefits and Beyond--A Comprehensive and Strategic Approach to Retirement, Health Care and More." is now available.

Thomas E. Murphy, Executive Professor at Miami University's Farmer School of Business has authored the textbook which offers a unique examination to how benefits are designed, financed, and delivered in the U. S. and globally. Published by Sage Publications, Inc. (Thousand Oaks, CA. 2010), the book includes chapters on health care, health care reform, retirement and pension plans, social security reform, global benefits, labor economics, benefit legal compliance including ERISA rules, retirement planning, equity benefits such as stock options and restricted stock, benefit plan administration, and benefit metrics.

Benefits and Beyond is a unique blend of theoretical and practical expositions of benefits and includes many illustrative vignettes that help develop analytical skills. It explores the link between life cycle events and benefits sponsored by employers and government as well as those mandated by state or federal legislation. Benefit finance and the relationship of benefits to human resources management are also explained in the book.

The book is supported by Murphy's blog (www. managementandbeyond. com/blog (http://www. managementandbeyond. com/blog)) that is updated weekly to keep benefit issues current and timely. The blog is organized by book chapters and includes a special feature section called "Critical Updates on Health Care Reform."
