PTGTV: Advertise Message via Educational Programming

PTGTV: Advertise Message via Educational Programming

PTGTV offers new advertising channel via educational feature stories.

Deerfield Beach, FL (PRWEB) January 18, 2004

More and more advertisers are looking to increase their visibility on the airwaves without 'beating viewers over the head' with their messages today. Instead of cramming too much information or pizazz into expensive :30 or :60 spots, advertisers are seeking new ways, via product placement and sponsorships, to increase their effectiveness at a fraction of the cost.

PTGTV has been delivering the full scope of an advertiser’s message to audiences for more than six years through its innovative half-hour programs, which delve into many popular areas of interest for advertisers. The shows are aired on targeted national cable networks, as well as regional broadcast stations. The key is to educate, as well as entertain, viewers. A full five minutes is spent with an advertiser selected to feature their story on one of Platinum's many shows, dealing with how the product or service will educate viewers on real-world solutions or enhance their lifestyle.

The wide range of shows that PTGTV produces offer a fit for

Just about any advertiser, and appeal to a broad spectrum of viewers. They include:

"New Home Journal,"  home improvement

“Today’s Family” family matters

"Health Forum"  health issues

aired on PAX-TV, ABC Family Channel

  & Oxygen

"Eye on Technology" technology

  gourmet food

  aired on Travel, style, E!

"Mundo Latino" Hispanic market

Taking it a step further, PTGTV capitalizes on the growing

Trend of regionalization in television advertising, by actually customizing

Its shows for specific markets. Advertisers are asked to select the cities in which they feel their message would best be received.

Already, since the start of 2004, 15 new accounts have signed on for

Educational segments on various PTGTV shows. As long as viewers keep

Getting bombarded with traditional ad clutter everywhere they look, advertisers will need vehicles like PTGTV shows to reach viewers in unique ways.

New Website Offers Parents of Teens Help as New School Year Begins

New Website Offers Parents of Teens Help as New School Year Begins

HelpWithTeenagers. com is a new website designed to help parents reach their teenagers as they face issues at the beginning of a new school year.

Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) October 5, 2006 –-

The newly launched website, www. helpwithteenagers. com, may be just the tool parents need to reach their teenagers as they face issues at the beginning of the new school year. The website, conceived by Christina Botto, offers parents resources for both communicating with their teens and helping their teenagers deal with important issues.

“My parenting strategies are based on the principle that parents can be in control without being controlling,” says Christina Botto of HelpWithTeenagers. com. “I can show you how to get your teenager to talk to you; how to get your teen to listen to you and your advice; how to boost your teen's self confidence and make him or her less susceptible to peer pressure, and how to act and react in every day situations. I also am available to help you with individual issues you are struggling with, online as well as offline.”

Help With Teenagers offers many resources for parents:

Articles on parenting teenagers A news page to keep parents informed about the latest trends and issues Message boards where parents can ask specific parenting questions, post upcoming events or share success stories A step-by-step guide called “Help Me With My Teenager!” Private phone sessions with Christina

Some of the issues Christina addresses are: teen Internet use and hazards, MySpace, peer pressure, cigarettes, drugs, sex, alcohol, eating disorders, depression and the first year at college.

“Your teenager faces several areas of peer pressure during his or her high school years,” says Christina. “Those years are very competitive and where your teenager stands in terms of popularity is very important. To be considered a 'loser' is one of the biggest fears. To avoid this label, some teens try to look tough, rebellious and not controlled by their parents. Smoking and drinking are the easiest ways to declare their independence.”

“Those same pressures face first year college students, along with learning how to live everyday life and increasing amounts of school work. Sometimes students will find unhealthy or dangerous ways to relax and take their minds off of school. My website can help parents build a closer relationship with their teens. My methods help build trust between teenagers and their parents so that teens really open up and also listen to what their parents have to say. Ultimately, parents can really help their teens successfully navigate through these confusing and exciting years.”

The strategies and principles Christina teaches are based on more than 14 years of conflict resolution between parents and their teenagers. Her dedication to helping parents inspired her to write her book, “Help Me With My Teenager! A Step-by-step Guide for Parents that Works” (www. helpwithteenagers. com/inside. html (http://www. helpwithteenagers. com/inside. html)).

Here are just a couple excerpts from recent book reviews:

“This guide is a no nonsense 'how-to' that is likely to save many relationships. If you need a little guidance, a friendly whisper in the ear about what works and what doesn't, Christina Botto is here for you..Must read!”

Heather Froeschl, bookreview. com

"As a parent of a teenager and a pre-teen, I found 'Help Me With My Teenager!' to be right on target. I like that Botto's focus is two-fold: the well being of the teenager, and the wellbeing of the parent-teen relationship. This guide is easy to read, and it dives right into solutions...Absolute Must Read!” Graciela Sholander, bookreviewers. org

The book and the website offer a no-nonsense approach to parenting. Parents can find fresh ideas and get answers to problems. For more information, please visit www. helpwithteenagers. com

Family Website, Professor'sHouse. com, Publishes Expert Advice on What to Feed the Family Dog

Family Website, Professor'sHouse. com, Publishes Expert Advice on What to Feed the Family Dog

Specialist website Professor's House offers invaluable expert advice on feeding dogs and canine nutrition

Calgary, AB (PRWEB) May 6, 2008

Professor's House - www. professorshouse. com] - the one-stop website covering homes, relationships, children, pets, cooking and more has updated its dog nutrition section. Following signs that the lessons learned from the 2007 pet food recall are quickly being forgotten, where the Food and Drug Administration stated that contaminated wheaten may have been responsible for thousands of canine deaths, Professor's House has just published some timely advice.

Owners may feel that they already feed their dogs the best food available due to how costly it is, but this is a common misconception according to vets nationwide, and one that is backed up by the information on the Professors House website. The most expensive dog food can be far less healthy than a cheaper alternative yet still cause health problems in dogs both young and old - the true value of a dog's food lies in the ingredients and health benefits.

The dog feeding and nutrition section of the Professor's House website has experts sharing their in-depth knowledge and includes discussions on the myriad of choices facing dog owners today. One of the most-discussed topics facing dog owners is whether to choose canned meat or kibble. Dog owners know the difference a healthy diet can make to a human's life - this choice now needs to be made in their pets' life as well. Although kibble has become an increasingly popular choice of dog food, it has equal amounts of supporters and detractors. While it cannot be argued that it is a far healthier choice of food as far as protein is concerned, it has more fat and kilocalories per pound compared to canned food. Professor's House offers a balanced argument for both sides, allowing owners to make an informed choice about feeding a dog (http://www. professorshouse. com/pets/dogs/dog-nutrition. aspx).

A big problem for many owners at feeding time is when dogs begin growling around food (http://www. professorshouse. com/pets/dogs/growling-around-food. aspx). This can be an even larger problem if there are children in the household - statistics show as many as 28.5% of dog attacks in the home are on children aged between 5-9. Growling around food can be a sign that dogs are in a protective and potentially highly-strung mood, which can often lead to subsequent attacks. The experts at Professor's House offer reasons for this growling, as well as advice on how to train dogs not to growl.

With the multitude of topics and features available, from weaning puppies off softer food onto a more solid diet to the costs involved in feeding a dog and more, the Professor's House website is an invaluable tool for dog owners everywhere.

ABOUT PROFESSOR'S HOUSE

“There are many challenges placed upon the woman of color in our culture. The practice of yoga and relaxation are tools that have been successful in abating the progress of these chronic health conditions,” Breuer says.

She specializes in creating programs and retreats for minorities, and women that employ yoga as a platform to promote behavioral change. Her programs are a synthesis of the philosophies of yoga and ancient ethnic wisdom stressing the interconnection of body, mind and spirit.

Through Yoga, African dance, journal-making, art, creative visualization, interactive exercises and sister circle sharing, participants will explore how to:

§ Deepen self awareness, heighten and use intuition

§ Create connections with other women of color

Queen's Award for Enterprise Presented to DuPont for Increasing Energy Efficiency of Solar Cells

Queen's Award for Enterprise Presented to DuPont for Increasing Energy Efficiency of Solar Cells

DuPont Receives Prestigious Award for Advances in DuPont™ Solamet® Metallization Technology

Bristol, United Kingdom (Vocus) April 21, 2010

Her Majesty the Queen, head of state of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, has awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category to DuPont for the continuous development of DuPont™ Solamet® photovoltaic metallization paste, a key component in increasing the energy efficiency of solar cells. The company has advanced the technology over a number of years -- contributing to increasing the effectiveness of photovoltaic solar cell technology.

“Addressing energy needs is a global concern. The generation of renewable energy will be the fastest growing sector in the energy market for the next 20 years, and materials for photovoltaic applications are a critical success factor for sustainable growth,” said Ian Hudson, president – DuPont Europe, Middle East and Africa. “We can apply the power of our market-driven science to offer products and technologies that can transform the sun’s potential into clean energy, contributing to decreasing dependence on fossil fuels.”

The advances made by DuPont in the field of front - and back-side metallization contacts have resulted in significant efficiency gains for solar cell technology. In 1998, the efficiency of a crystalline silicon (c Si) solar cell was approximately 10 percent. Today, these cells operate at close to 16 percent for multi-crystalline wafers, and at greater than 18 percent for monocrystalline wafers; a rise in efficiency that is partly due to the performance offered by the metallizations DuPont has developed. The fundamental qualities that Solamet® brings to the market are the excellent low contact resistance formed with the silicon on firing and its fine line, high aspect ratio print resolution. These are essential to minimize series resistance and electrical losses, leading to a more efficient device.

The Queen's Awards for Enterprise is the United Kingdom's most prestigious award for business performance. The awards recognize and reward outstanding achievement by U. K. companies. They are presented in three separate categories: International Trade, Innovation and Sustainable Development. The awards are made each year by the queen, on the advice of the prime minister, who is assisted by an advisory committee that includes representatives of government, industry and commerce, and the trade unions.

DuPont is honored to receive this prestigious award that recognizes the company’s innovations to advance efficient and reliable generation of solar energy,” said Craig Oliver, director, Europe, Middle East and Africa – DuPont Microcircuit Materials. “Sustainable growth of the photovoltaic industry depends on technological advances continuing to improve the efficiency of photovoltaic devices, and ultimately reducing the cost per watt of solar power.”

DuPont Microcircuit Materials plays a key role in enabling growth in the solar energy market by sustained technological advancement. The Solamet® product range is the market leader for metallizations for c Si solar cells and has been instrumental in the great gains in efficiency of solar power, making it more competitive with other means of electricity generation.

DuPont materials have been at the forefront of photovoltaic innovation for more than 25 years, setting standards around the world through materials that provide unmatched quality and reliability to photovoltaic modules. DuPont anticipates that the photovoltaic market will grow approximately 30 percent in 2010 and will continue to grow rapidly over the next three years. DuPont sales in photovoltaics exceeded $500 million in 2009. Given the innovation that DuPont brings to the photovoltaic market, company sales have been growing above market rates, with growth expected in the coming years.

DuPont is a science-based products and services company. Founded in 1802, DuPont puts science to work by creating sustainable solutions essential to a better, safer, healthier life for people everywhere. Operating in more than 70 countries, DuPont offers a wide range of innovative products and services for markets including agriculture and food; building and construction; communications; and transportation.

Florida Spine Surgeon Alfred Bonati, M. D. Announces Results of National Poll Showing America's Doctors Oppose a Government-Run Health Care Plan

Florida spine surgeon Alfred Bonati, M. D. announced the results of a nonpartisan national poll commissioned by the American Society of Medical Doctors (ASMD) that shows physicians are unwilling to accept new patients covered by a government-run health care plan. Dr. Bonati announced the poll results at a press conference earlier today in Washington, DC.

Hudson, FL (PRWEB) August 20, 2009

Florida spine surgeon Alfred Bonati, M. D. announced the results of a nonpartisan national poll commissioned by the American Society of Medical Doctors (ASMD) that shows physicians are unwilling to accept new patients covered by a government-run health care plan. Dr. Bonati announced the poll results at a press conference earlier today in Washington, DC.

The poll conducted on August 7, 2009 by WRS Opinion Research on behalf of the ASMD shows that:
70 percent of specialty doctors oppose current Congressional and White House proposals for health care reform; 66 percent believe that a government-run health insurance plan would restrict doctors' ability to give the best advice and offer the best care possible to their patients; and More than 60 percent would not accept new patients with government insurance. Dr. Bonati, who serves as the Chairman of the ASMD, said, "As a physician, the results of this poll are not surprising to me. Any doctor who has ever dealt with Medicare knows that government coverage severely limits our abilities to deliver care that best fits the needs of the patient and the patient's family. We know that government coverage does not allow for flexibility, creativity, or sometimes, even compassion."

"I hope this research will serve as a wake-up call to policy makers," Dr. Bonati said. "Doctors are against the creation of government-run health insurance and many of us will not accept new patients with that type of coverage."

Dr. Bonati is an acclaimed orthopedic surgeon who specializes in advanced laser spine surgery. Dr. Bonati is the founder of The Bonati Institute® located in Hudson, Florida. He is also the driving force behind the formation of the American Society of Medical Doctors (ASMD), an association that works to keep the American health care system focused on the relationship between physicians and their patients without government interference. He patented The Bonati ProceduresSM, a series of surgical techniques that treat lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine problems using instruments designed by Dr. Bonati at The Bonati Institute. Dr. Bonati has traveled the world and witnessed firsthand various government-controlled health care systems and hospitals in many other countries.

Atlanta Institute of Aesthetics’ skincare teacher, Carol Venclik, has been recently featured in ABMP’s ‘Ask the Skincare Professional’ column.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 26, 2005

Atlanta Institute of Aesthetics’ Director of Spa Therapies, Carol Venclik, became a master cosmetologist before graduating high school. Carol was recently featured in ABMP’s, ‘Ask the Skincare Professional’ column where she tells the story of how her passion for the skincare field grew and eventually led her to an esthetician career and her current position as Director of Spa Therapies at Atlanta School of Massage and its esthetics education division, Atlanta Institute of Aesthetics.

After opening her own salon early in her career, Carol decided to change direction slightly and go to work in the spa industry where she helped to open two major spas in the Atlanta area. Award Winning Obstetrician Praises Cord Blood Banking

Award Winning Obstetrician Praises Cord Blood Banking

Dr. B. Kaye Kashanchi of The Beverly Hills Women's Center has joined the growing list of supporters of Cord Blood banking as a life saving procedure.

Beverly Hills, CA (PRWEB) April 5, 2006

The Beverly Hills Women’s Center has joined the growing list of supporters of Cord Blood banking as a life saving procedure.

Blood that remains in your baby’s umbilical cord after it has been cut is called “cord blood” and it is rich in newborn stem cells. These stem cells are one of the most promising sources of biological material for the treatment of a number of serious illnesses including heart disease, diabetes and Alzheimer’s. Because they are the body’s “master” cells and regenerate into the cells that form all other tissues, organs and systems in the body, stem cells have a natural, regenerative power to heal and are currently being used to treat, or cure, over 75 life-threatening illnesses, including leukemia, blood disorders, and cancers.

Dr. B. Kaye Kashanchi, Board Certified Obstetrician Gynecologist and Clinical Professor at the Department of OB/GYN at the University of Southern California School of Medicine (USC), who was named one of the top Obstetricians and Gynecologists by Consumer’s Research Council of America, has delivered over 5,000 healthy babies. During those deliveries, he makes use of umbilical cord stem cells, in order to help insure the babies future health.

After the baby is born and the umbilical cord is clamped and cut, the cord blood is collected by using either a syringe or blood bag. “The procedure is safe, painless and only takes a few minutes”, explains Dr. Kashanchi. The cord is stored and easily available if it is ever needed. These stem cells will be a perfect match for the child, while there is only a 25% chance that a sibling will be a match.

When stem cells are collected from the mother’s connection to the baby -- the umbilical cord -- the mother has helped her baby after the birth with her own blood.

Several of Dr. Kashanchi’s patients who have elected the procedure are available for either print or video interviews. For more information, please visit: www. obgyn911.com

Beverly Hills Women’s Center is offering free pregnancy tests and is located at 450 North Bedford Drive #209, Beverly Hills, CA 90210 and also at 16133 Ventura Boulevard #415, Encino, CA 91436. They can be reached at 310-858-0505 in Beverly Hills and at 818-995-3900 in Encino.

Planktos Moves to Rescue Mumbles and other Endangered Penguins with Plankton Power

Planktos Moves to Rescue Mumbles and other Endangered Penguins with Plankton Power

The new movie hit Happy Feet alerts audiences to the famine now facing the world's penguins, but ecorestoration firm Planktos not only offers hope to these endangered birds, its plankton powered technology can help stop global warming, too.

San Francisco, Calif., (PRWEB) December 11, 2006

The hit holiday movie Happy Feet has finally awakened American audiences to the risks that ocean decline poses to the fate of global penguin populations.

Publicity for their plight is sadly overdue. A document prepared by the non-profit Center for Biological Diversity states that of the world's 19 species of penguins, 12 are in danger of becoming extinct if the world's governments don't list them as endangered.

As the movie's writer, director, and producer George Miller revealed the penguins' peril is due to the plummeting ocean productivity. Miller was drawn to the issue after seeing a penguin documentary some years back, "I saw Life in the Freezer about ten years ago and I thought, 'Oh my God, I knew about the penguins but I had no idea that there lives were so extraordinary'." While his movie gives us a heartwarming view of penguin life, it also portrays the tragic collapse of their ocean ecosystem.

While Miller heaps his blame on the admittedly critical issue of over-fishing, an even more sinister culprit pulling the rug out from under the penguins' dancing feet is the biological demise of the world's plankton populations, the base of the ocean food chain. This crisis not only threatens penguins and most other sea life, it is intensifying global warming. The plankton decline is now so severe that over 3 billion fewer tonnes of CO2 are being photosynthetically removed from the atmosphere each year compared to just a generation ago. This is triggering a vicious circle.

A study published in the journal Nature this week detailed the withering impact that climate change is having on ocean plankton populations worldwide. "This study shows that as the climate warms, phytoplankton production goes down, but this also means that carbon dioxide uptake by ocean plants will decrease... making the problem worse," said lead researcher Michael Behrenfeld.

Other ocean scientists have reported an alarming 80% decline in krill stocks in the Scotia Sea, part of the Southern Ocean, right next door to the region where Happy Feet characters are tap dancing away this holiday season. Krill populations are directly dependent on phytoplankton, the microscopic ocean plants, which Nature reports are in such steep decline. Krill not only nourish penguins, they are the staple food for many of the world's fisheries and all the great baleen whales, which traditionally rear their calves in the cetacean nursery of the Scotia Sea.

Russ George, CEO of Planktos, Inc., a California ecorestoration firm says, "It's not too late to restore the plankton, revive ocean productivity, and save Mumbles and his penguin buddies who have danced into our hearts."

Planktos, Inc. is addressing the imminent climate change crisis through ocean ecosystem restoration projects which will stimulate plankton growth by replenishing missing iron micronutrients in the Southern Ocean and many other regions as well. This restoration of marine life will also restore the ocean's ability to lock away billions of tonnes of atmospheric carbon and help slow global warming, too.

Russ George notes, "As we work to restore the health and vitality of the oceans, the phytoplankton populations we revive will remove CO2 from the atmosphere, which we can then verify and sell as 'carbon credits' or tonnes of greenhouse gas reductions. This will easily pay for the restoration work. Individuals and companies can help restore the seas and safeguard the penguins as well by purchasing ocean restoration credits via the Planktos web store at www. planktos. com."

Award Winning Event Discloses Dates For Festival 2005

Award Winning Event Discloses Dates For Festival 2005

Manchester Pride - The 10 day summer Lesbian and Gay festival which is held every August continues it’s charisma within the LGBT community. The winner of an award presented by the regions marketing department for tourism to the North West of England, unveiled it’s dates for the 2005 festival those of the 19th – 29th August 2005.

(PRWEB) January 10, 2005

Manchester Pride draws tens of thousands from across the whole of Britain with many travelling even greater distances from Europe and across the world, coming to the North West to join in the festival.

The event stages a multitude of programs ranging from the arts and sport to lifestyle and stage, the calendar attracts something for everyone, from the ‘Party in the Park’ for the family to exhilarating performances of regional and national artist, performers and musicians on its main Sackville stage set as the focal point of the ‘Big Weekend’.

Historically the festival has been the subject of name changing over a number of years since its imaginative juncture back in the early 1990Â’s, which orginually brought together a dedicated community holding a few stalls and raising awareness around LGBT lifestyle and health issues.

Initially the festival brought the community together in both celebration and concern in raising funds which was used for the benefit of the local community, today that same tradition continues to bring to the city hundreds of thousands every year – with its vast programme of eventing.

During the run up to Manchester Pride 2004 its officials laid the foundation for continued success to be built on year in year, under the direction of Claire Turner festival director who with the city’s Marketing Manchester brought ‘Euro pride’ 2003 to the city, a year earlier.

Manchester Pride is considered by thousands a major event within the LGBT festival calendar and a strong contender of being BritainÂ’s foremost successful lesbian and gay festival.

Regardless of its hiccup of this past year, with concerns raised about the length of time it took to exchange tickets for wristband – with some people claiming that they had waited about an hour to get into the enclosure of Manchester’s ‘Gay Village’ the event was seen as a complete success by the vast majority that attended.

The ‘Gay Village’ again will be the strong contender to stage the 2005 event – with organisers already mapping out the event for August 2005. – Manchester pride has said that it took on board the observations made concerning the waiting times and would be operating a system which will speed up the process for the future.

The event which is run in conjunction with ‘Operation Fundraiser’ the marriage of the Lesbian and Gay Foundation and George House Trust has raised for good clauses over £132.000 from the festival – making Manchester the leading figure in fundraising though Britain.

Operation Fundraiser who is within its third year has raised £350’000 for the north west LGBT community is a major stakeholder of the festival

Another difference from others held though England each year is the mark of respect that the festival gives by holding a candlelit vigil at the end of the ‘Big Weekend’

It is in this that makes Manchester’s Pride unique and irreplaceable – within the Pride/Mardi Gras calendar across the entire of the United Kingdom.

For hundreds of thousands the ‘Big Weekend’ experience means different things for each person – Many sharing the laughter and the joy, familiarity with family, friends and loved ones. Opportunities present themselves to make new or renew friendships during the festival.

For some the freedom of being who they are, enabling some to reach from deep within themselves whilst experiencing the occasion for the very first time.

As a young man summed up his experience to me when he said that this was his first time, with tears within the ‘guy’s eyes’ he related that for the first time he could be who he was from the inside without being ashamed or expecting reprisals from others.

So whatever your motive if you attended the festival and come away being thankful for the event - now as a community we have the opportunity to show support towards ‘Manchester Pride’ nomination for the BBC Best Event for 2004 – voting is via the BBC Manchester website www. bbc. co. uk/manchester/content/articles/2004/12/20 (http://www. bbc. co. uk/manchester/content/articles/2004/12/20) best of Manchester.

Agrium Advanced Technologies Adds Mini Sizes to DURATION CR® Product Line

Agrium Advanced Technologies Adds Mini Sizes to DURATION CR® Product Line

Smaller-Sized Controlled-Release Fertilizers Offer New Tools for Golf Course Nutrient Programs (Golf Industry Show, Booth # 5839)

San Diego, CA (Vocus) February 11, 2010

Agrium Advanced Technologies today introduces two smaller sizes of its DURATION CR ® controlled-release fertilizer product line at the 2010 Golf Industry Show in San Diego. With smaller sizes available in four longevities, DURATION CR (http://www. agriumat. com/us/duration. html) provides golf course superintendents with the right size products that they need to maintain dense, healthy turf and optimal golf course conditions.

“Many golf course superintendents find that our 195 SGN size is perfect for fairways, even on cool season turf,” said Bryan Gooch, product marketing manager, Agrium Advanced Technologies. “Our 150 SGN products can penetrate even the tightest turf canopies, providing another great option. Plus, having more particles per square foot enhances nutrient distribution and improves weed or pest control when using combination fertilizer products.”

The new DURATION CR mini products are engineered to provide consistent, predictable feeding for 45 to 180 days. Available in urea and sulfate of potash fertilizer options, these smaller-sized DURATION CR (http://www. agriumat. com/us/pdf/downloads/DURATION/DurationCR_Mini_Sell_%20Sheet. pdf) products control the release of both nitrogen and potassium.

DURATION CR ensures steady nutrient release over longer periods of time with an advanced-generation polymer coating technology (http://www. agriumat. com/us/duration_technology. html) that gradually delivers nutrients as plants need them. DURATION CR release is not impacted by excess rainfall or irrigation, which lowers the risk of leaching or environmental loss and avoids surge growth. In addition, DURATION CR enables up to 40 percent less total nitrogen to be applied per year.

“Predictability is a necessity on golf courses. The ability to steadily meter nitrogen and potassium release puts golf course superintendents in control of their nutrient programs,” added Gooch. “Ultimately, this means they can reduce applications, reduce clippings and mowing costs, and save time and money in their annual fertilizer budget.”

Agrium Advanced Technologies will introduce the new DURATION CR mini-sized products at the Golf Industry Show, February 10-11, 2010 in booth #5839 at the San Diego Convention Center. The Agrium Advanced Technologies team will be on-hand to answer questions and provide more details about this and other slow - and controlled-release fertilizer products.

Agrium Advanced Technologies recently completed an expansion of its Sylacauga, Ala. manufacturing operations to allow for the extension of its DURATION CR polymer-coated fertilizer product line. The plant expansion ensures that Agrium Advanced Technologies is able to meet the growing demand for its products.

DURATION CR controlled-release fertilizers are available from many suppliers nationwide. For more information, call 888.757.0072 or visit www. agriumat. com.

Sore Muscles at The Arnold Sports Festival To Get Treatment with Hot Jade Stones

Sore Muscles at The Arnold Sports Festival To Get Treatment with Hot Jade Stones

Largest sports festival in the world (18,000 athletes), The Arnold Sports Festival will have an alternative holistic treatment available for sore muscles. Revolutionary Massage table uses far infrared heat to pull lactic acid from muscles while the body is being lifted and stretched.

Columbus, OH (PRWEB) February 23, 2009

The Arnold Sports Festival scheduled for March 6-8, 2009 at the Columbus, Ohio Convention Center is reported to be the largest sporting event in the United States. The 18,000 athletes competing in 37 events in front of more than 150,000 spectators will mean a lot of athletes, a lot of visitors for Columbus, but also a lot of … sore muscles.

But relief will be standing by for athletes and visitors in the form of the Migun Thermal Massage Beds that are being made available for use by a local business, Migun Columbus, and a special promotion for the public in the days leading up to "The Arnold."

Migun, a Korean word for "beautiful health," is an FDA-approved medical device and has been endorsed by the American Chiropractic Association. Incorporating far-infrared 140° jade stones that deliver deep heat from head to ankle, the mechanical bed also intensely kneads the neck, back and legs. This action said to release lactic acid and improve body's energy (or "chi") flow.

Two beds will be available to athletes in the registration area at "The Arnold Martial Arts Festival" with two more set up at the local Holiday Inn where many participants are staying.

This is not the first time that athletes visiting Columbus have taken advantage non-pharmaceutically based "alternative" pain relief. Migun Columbus has become an integral part of many athletes' preparation and recovery from the Columbus Marathon.

According to Sue Miller, owner of Migun Columbus, LLC, "You should see this store in the days leading up to the Columbus Marathon and especially in the days that follow. After the event, runners hobble in, stiff and sore, take a 30 minute treatment and leave "wowed" by how much better their body feels."

Star New Orleans Saints wide receiver Lance Moore, a graduate of Westerville South, is a regular visitor to Migun during the off-season. The system has proven so compelling that Actor Matt Damon purchased five Migun beds for his friends. The system recently received an endorsement from the US Olympic Speed Skating team and its star: Apollo Ono.

For The Arnold Sports Festival, Director of Martial Arts, Tokey Hill actively solicited making the beds available because of his own personal experience with the therapeutic powers of the beds.

Hill, head of Team Tokey Hill, a world wide entertainment organization specializing in the organization and promotion of local, state, national, and international sporting events, is himself the winner of more international medals than any other karate practitioner in the United States.

Says Hill, "I first met Sue Miller, owner of the Columbus Migun dealership, while lying flat on my back receiving a hot jade stone massage at one of my events at the Ohio State Fair. Sue was kind enough to allow me and my athletes to use the Migun bed totally free of charge. I was impressed with the product and its potential to help our athletes."

For anyone (including reporters) who wants to feel what a Karate expert feels, if only after a work out, Miller is offering first-time visitors an "Arnold Special" free 35 minute treatment at her Migun Center in the Lee Plaza, 2509 West Schrock Road, in Westerville, Ohio.

For more information about Migun, go to www. miguncolumbus. com. For event and ticket information visit www. arnoldsportsfestival. com

Scott+Scott, LLC’s Clients Get New Shock: Guidant Receives FDA Warning Letter

Scott+Scott, LLC’s Clients Get New Shock: Guidant Receives FDA Warning Letter

Initial Securities Fraud Action Against Guidant Corporation Filed By Firm: Shareholders Can Sign As Clients By January 3, 2006.

Colchester, Conn., (PRWEB) December 28, 2005

Scott+Scott, LLC (http://www. scott-scott. com (http://www. scott-scott. com)) initiated a securities fraud class action on November 3, 2005, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana against Guidant Corp. ("Guidant") and certain individual defendants (No. 05CV1658). Guidant securities purchasers between December 1, 2004 and November 3, 2005, inclusive (the "Class Period") are putative class members. Guidant claims to provide therapeutic medical solutions for customers, patients, and healthcare systems worldwide.

Scott + Scott, LLC has an exceptional background in securities cases involving pharmaceutical companies including being lead counsel in ImClone and Cyberonics and having significant roles in cases against Pfizer, Merck, Forrest Laboratories and more. Cases currently being litigated and/or investigated by Scott+Scott, LLC include: Bausch & Lomb, Halliburton, Jetblue, Affiliated Computer, Great Wolf, Diebold, Stone Energy, Faro Technology, Nash Finch, SeraCare Life Sciences and others.

If you purchased Guidant securities during the Class Period, you may, no later than January 3, 2006, move the Court to be appointed lead plaintiff and sign up with Scott + Scott as a client/shareholder. Signing with the Firm does not make you a proposed lead plaintiff without further consultation. If you wish to discuss this action or have questions concerning this notice or your rights as a class member, you may contact this firm for more information. Scott+Scott will provide class members with case materials; answer all questions regarding participation and assist investors with other services the firm provides. There is no cost or fee to you. Contact Scott+Scott partner Neil Rothstein directly at his cell phone at cell 619/251-0887 or at 800/332-2259, ext. 22 or partner David R. Scott 800/404-7770.

On December 27, 2005, various media outlets reported that the Food and Drug Administration had warned Guidant that it had failed to resolve all of its defects at its St. Paul, Minnesota facilities. Guidant stated Tuesday that it received the FDA’s warning letter on December 23, 2005, as reported by the Associated Press. This FDA letter comes four days after the Company said it would adjust its fourth-quarter revenue estimates to far below Wall Street expectations and the AP reported that the letter stated that the FDA will not approve the sale of certain devices from the St. Paul facility. The FDA letter termed these violations as “significant.” (See AP Article by Rick Callahan dated December 27).

The complaint alleges that Guidant and certain of its officers and directors violated provisions of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, causing the Company's stock price to become artificially inflated. On December 15, 2004, Guidant entered into a $24.5 billion merger deal with Johnson & Johnson. According to the complaint, while the Company pointed to its defibrillator business as a key component of that deal, it concealed from investors significant unaddressed product defect and liability issues of the Company's implantable defibrillator product lines.

On June 17, 2005, the FDA issued a nationwide recall notification impacting Guidant's implantable defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillators. Within that notification, the FDA advised the public that the malfunction of Guidant's devices could lead to a serious, life-threatening event for a patient. On July 18, 2005, the FDA published a "Recall -- Firm Press Release" on its website, that then revealed the Company's knowledge of pacemaker-related defects. In the recall publication, Guidant warned physicians and patients to seek replacement of at least nine different cardiac pacemaker models and product lines.

Johnson & Johnson representatives subsequently revealed to the investment community that, as of October 18, 2005, it was seeking alternatives to the merger deal in earnest, as a direct result of the "developments" at Guidant. On November 2, 2005, Johnson & Johnson warned that it might withdraw from the merger deal due to broad product recalls and a regulatory agency investigation. Finally, on November 3, 2005, the Attorney General of the State of New York filed a complaint, alleging ``repeated and persistent fraud'' by the Company in connection with its defibrillator sales. As investors learned the truth about the allegations of fraud made by the State of New York, the Company's shares tumbled from $60.40 on November 2, 2005, to as low as $57.05 per share in heavy trading.

The plaintiff is represented by Scott+Scott, LLC, which has significant experience in prosecuting investor class actions. The firm dedicates itself to client communication and satisfaction and currently is litigating major securities, antitrust and employee retirement plan actions throughout the United States. The firm represents pension funds, charities, foundations, individuals and other entities worldwide.

Fresh, Prepared-to-Order Menu Positions Captain D’s Seafood Kitchen for Big 2011

Fresh, Prepared-to-Order Menu Positions Captain D’s Seafood Kitchen for Big 2011

America’s Second Largest Quick Service Seafood Chain Relies on Best Practices, Freshness

Nashville, TN (PRWEB) November 17, 2010

Throughout its growth to 535 restaurants, Captain D’s Seafood Kitchen’s success has relied on its ability to offer its customers premium quality baked, broiled and freshly hand-battered fried fish products. Moving into 2011, the second largest quick service seafood chain in the United States will bank on much of the same.

“Our brand’s continued growth relies directly on the satisfaction of our customers, while our customer’s satisfaction relies on the fresh, wholesome, tasteful product we deliver,” said Phil Greifeld, the newly appointed CEO of the chain. “Quality is vital to our brand’s success, as our stringent controls protect both the quality and safety of our seafood.”

Greifeld said growth will be two-fold in 2011, in the form of retention and new customers along with new franchisees, and both groups will continue to be engaged with the brand.

In fact, last year Captain D’s Seafood Kitchen was named the Silver award-winning seafood chain in America, based on Restaurants & Institutions magazine’s Consumers’ Choice in Chains study. In the study, 3,000 consumers were asked to rate nearly 120 chain restaurants on eight customer satisfaction attributes: food quality, menu variety, value, service, atmosphere, cleanliness, reputation and convenience.

Captain D’s menu has also been no stranger to innovation, as it continuously promotes diversity in its selection. In addition to its signature Classic, hand-battered fish, shrimp and other seafood items, Captain D’s offers a host of grilled, baked or broiled specialties including Wild Alaskan Salmon, Tilapia, or Shrimp Skewers, with a choice of delicious sauces – ginger teriyaki; scampi or sweet chili sauce.

“In the new year, we will add more healthful, fresh products to our menu to meet the demands of our customer base,” Greifeld said. “We are the trendsetters in seafood QSR brands and will continue to be the leaders in product development, food safety and preparation. Those qualities will help us continue our growth.”

One of these new pages deals with poverty and crime. From political leaders all the way down the socioeconomic spectrum, people are concerned with solving these two problems. The article examines them individually and explores the ways that they are interconnected. Although one must be careful not to jump to the conclusion that two things that happen simultaneously or in close proximity are necessarily causally related, this may well be the case with poverty and crime, which the article addresses. Another article talks about birth order and relationships. This in another area where many people are quick to jump to conclusions, based on less than scientifically obtained information. The article presents general principles that often apply to various individuals based on their birth order. Finally the site demonstrates its interest in educational topics with two articles dealing with plants. One discusses ocean plants and one deals with evergreens. The articles provide some basic information about their target types of vegetation and include several examples.

QuickMedical Posts Record Sales in 2010

QuickMedical Posts Record Sales in 2010

QuickMedical continues to surpass sales goals by incorporating fundamental marketing and sales strategies. The basic sales and marketing activities that took the company to where it is today also worked during the current economic slowdown to increase company sales, brand, market share, and profit.

Issaquah, WA (Vocus/PRWEB) January 10, 2011

The foundation for success at QuickMedical can be attributed to their knowledgeable sales staff and aggressive marketing campaigns. In a time when companies are cutting back on sales staff and reducing marketing efforts, Quick Medical continues to fund aggressive marketing promotions, and that has led to another record year in sales and profit.

"In good or bad economic times, our focus at QuickMedical has been to expand our product lines, increase our marketing and co-marketing effort, build long-term customer relationships, and sell outside of our comfort zone" said Scott Hanna, CEO at QuickMedical. "When the economy began to stumble, we increased our sales and marketing efforts to our premier customers and made extra efforts to reach medical facilities, universities and government entities. We have always been proactive versus reactive to the economic environment."

QuickMedical prides itself in having a strong and knowledgeable sales force that recognizes the contribution they are making and what they can do to improve a customer's quality of life. Sales representatives spend most of their business day processing internet orders, consulting with new customers, hospital personnel, physicians, health-care executives, clinics, and focusing on increasing the visibility of QuickMedical's products, services, and purchasing opportunities. With all the new technology and advances in medical products and devices, the sales representatives have an ongoing job of educating and informing customers.

Tim Lightell, Social Media Coordinator at QuickMedical® said, “Since launching Qtube™ on the QuickMedical® website, we've uploaded hundreds of videos, both on products and suppliers. Using our in-house production capabilities and state of the art show room, Qtube™ videos provide an educational format for demonstrating the products we sell, and gives the customers a greater in-depth understanding on usage and function. Mr. Lightell concluded, “Having engaging video content of our products and services is a great value to our customer; it's also an important part of our overall increase in online visibility. Qtube™ is a valuable service and one we offer to all of our customers.”

As a national distributor of medical supplies and medical equipment since 1993, Quick Medical has been experiencing strong sales growth. By adding a number of new product lines such as ADC and Sklar, QuickMedical provides added value to their existing services while meeting ongoing customer requests for new products that increase distribution channels and reduce cost.

"Although the medical supply industry continues to remain strong with the constant and increasing need for health-care goods and services, the number of new on-line medical supply companies continues to grow. Profit margins are lower, operating costs higher, and the cost of providing top quality customer care continues to rise," said Loren Timmons, Marketing Director at Quick Medical. "QuickMedical made the decision a number of years ago that they would aggressively pursue new business opportunities, private labeling, and build a satisfied but more importantly loyal customer following". Mr. Timmons concluded, "I believe that through our past hard work, an aggressive web marketing campaign, and by adhering to fundamental sales and marketing concepts, QuickMedical will continue to grow and be profitable."

About Quick Medical and Qtube:

With great pricing, QuickMedical® has the professional medical equipment needed by health care providers. Look for diagnostic equipment, exam tables, weighing and measuring devices, and medical basics such as stethoscopes, thermometers, and sphygmomanometers. QuickMedical® also offers a wide selection of professional medical supplies; everything from patient care, to blood testing, to exam room products. Find quality and affordable disposables and medical supplies for the clinic, hospital, or home care environment. Qtube™ Production and Videos are supplied by our manufacturers or produced in house by our Production Team. Most videos are shot in our state of the art showrooms. Current displays include medical, surgical, and a pediatric exam rooms. Look for QuickMedical's® new television commercial, currently airing in the Seattle market on local ABC affiliate KOMO 4.
