NOXO Stress Relief Balm Olfactory Nasal Inhaler Now Available

NOXO Stress Relief Balm Olfactory Nasal Inhaler Now Available

The new NOXO Stress Relief Balm and Olfactory Nasal Inhaler is effective in relaxing brain waves and reducing stress and toxins while enabling the body's natural balance. Stress causes the entire body to malfunction, creating imbalances in all the systems of the body, resulting in obesity, exhaustion, digestive disorders, circulatory disorders and depression.

Wynnewood, PA (PRWEB) March 10, 2010

Adoodle, Inc, (OTC Pink Sheets: ADDE) announced today that NOXO Stress Relief (http://www. stressreliefnoxo. com/) balm is now available at a price of $ 11.95 for 20 doses. Dr. Warren Chaney, Advisory Board Member said "the new NOXO Stress Relief Balm and Olfactory Nasal Inhaler is effective in relaxing brain waves and reducing stress and toxins while enabling the body's natural balance". Stress causes the entire body to malfunction, creating imbalances in all the systems of the body, resulting in obesity, exhaustion, digestive disorders, circulatory disorders and depression.

The new NOXO Stress Release balm, when applied topically, under the nostrils helps deliver scent molecules into the nose to the olfactory bulb, where the chemical and neurotransmitter messengers are dispensed into the limbic system of the brain. From there, they are forwarded to areas of the central nervous system that mediate emotional, hormonal, metabolic, and stress responses throughout the body. This product is extremely effective in reducing stress (http://www. stressreliefnoxo. com/reducing_stress. htm) and installing calm. Stress is the term used to describe any reaction to a physical, mental or emotional stimulus that upsets the body's natural balance.

Here is one of the best stress relief (http://www. stressreliefnoxo. com/stress_relief_products. htm) products to reduce long-term stress, which is known to suppress the immune system. Part of cancer prevention is supporting a healthy immune system so it can do the job of stopping cancer before it has a chance to develop into disease. Whether stress is related to work or family life, most of us experience too much stress in our daily life.

NOXO Anti-Stress balm, a proprietary product formulation of 16 unique molecular ingredients, which are soy-based, is absorbed into the skin and is not visible after application. Based on olfactory perception altering technology, the NOXO line of products is focused on modifying behavior, via the olfactory senses and the limbic system.

About Adoodle

Adoodle’s NOXO division is focused on developing a variety of products that can modify behaviors such as appetite, stress, anxiety, mood, memory and sugar cravings. The company's first of eleven products to reach commercialization was NOXO’s Odor inhibitor, which has the ability to alter the brain’s ability to smell horrific odors. The odor is still there and it's not masked. The brain does not however, register its normal reaction to it. The uniquely formulated NOXO Odor Inhibitor is based on the advanced olfactory perception altering technology of all these new NOXO products.

For dealers and inquiries, please consider NOXO’s products to feature as part of your retail store, catalogue or service. Our headquarters are located in Pennsylvania where a seasoned team of business professionals develop winning strategies for products in the health and wellness industry. We are the exclusive manufacturer and/or wholesale distributor for these unique and effective products for modifying behavior. First Cosmetic Dentist in Illinois Certified in Nobel Biocare’s Guided Dental Implant Surgery

First Cosmetic Dentist in Illinois Certified in Nobel Biocare’s Guided Dental Implant Surgery

Dr. Daniel K. Marinic is the first dentist in Illinois to be certified in Nobel Biocare’s guided dental implant surgery.

(PRWEB) December 22, 2005

Dr. Daniel K. Marinic is the first dentist in Illinois to be certified in Nobel Biocare’s guided implant surgery, a minimally-invasive procedure for dental implant placement. Dr. Marinic’s private practice focuses on implant and cosmetic dentistry (www. drmarinic. com).

The use of Nobel Biocare technologies (a leading edge developer of tooth replacement systems) provides Dr. Marinic’s patients with the best of dental implant and cosmetic dentistry technologies while providing his patients the comfort of knowing their dentistry outcomes will endure for years to come.

“Our practice maintains a close relationship with Nobel Biocare,” Dr. Marinic said. “Use of their technologies and products consistently assures our patients of utmost precision, predictability and speed of implant procedures.”

Although there are many ways to restore a tooth, a dental implant is the only way to replace a root. The NobelGuide™ concept from Nobel Biocare opens up a wide range of opportunities and levels for Dr. Marinic to carry out safe, predictable, minimally-invasive implant placement using a Surgical Template to guide him.

Guided implant surgery uses Computer tomography to generate a 3-D image of the patient's jaw. The implant surgery is done virtually on the 3-D image. When the placement of the implants is acceptable, a surgical guide (NobelGuide™) is also virtually created. This is e-mailed to Sweden where it is printed on a stereo lithographic printer. This printer actually prints in three dimensions.

In about a week the NobelGuide™ is returned to the doctor. The day of the surgery the guide is put into place and the holes are drilled through the guide. This controls the position as well as the depth of the holes. Next the implants are placed through the guide resulting in accuracy of 200 microns.

Guided surgery offers many benefits to both patient and dentist involving decreased morbidity, little post operative pain and swelling, immediate return to function and little interference with work and social life. There are no stitches and most patients report minimal if any discomfort. Dentists can achieve greater predictability, more precise planning, enhanced esthetic results, greater flexibility and expanded possibilities for different treatment options.

Dr. Marinic has been in private practice in Evanston, IL, since 1987. The practice focuses on implant and cosmetic dentistry and provides just the right mix of reconstructive, restorative and aesthetic dental procedures for his patients. In 1997, Dr. Marinic built a state of the art dental facility which features a central sterilization room and fully equipped laboratory for dental implants and guided implant surgery (www. drmarinic. com).

Why Not Spanish? ImmersiveMedical. com Has Just Opened Their Plastic Surgery Portal to the Spanish Community: Hola!

Why Not Spanish? ImmersiveMedical. com Has Just Opened Their Plastic Surgery Portal to the Spanish Community: Hola!

Over the past few months, ImmersiveMedical Plastic Surgery and the Health Portal team have been working on translating the portal to the Spanish language. in order to share information about all plastic surgery procedures available today with the Spanish speaking audience around the world.

Limassol, Cyprus (PRWEB) October 6, 2009

For the past few months the "ImmersiveMedical - Your Plastic Surgery & Health Portal" team has been working on translating its portal into Spanish and opening its doors to the Spanish speaking community.

If you are a Spanish speaker and would like to find information about plastic surgery or to locate a plastic surgeon in your area, you will probably notice that not many websites combine all of this information for you in one place. Starting Oct 09 - Immersivemedical has created this exact place for you. From Breast Augmentation (http://immersivemedical. com/breast-augmentation. html) to Liposuction (http://immersivemedical. com/liposuction. html), you can find all of the necessary information in this website, including who is the ideal candidate? What are the risks of each procedure? What should you ask the surgeon? And more.

Adding the Spanish Plastic Surgery Portal - ImmersiveMedical (http://es. immersivemedical. com/) is an opportunity for both the surgeons and the patients to interact in one place, in their own spoken language. As Spanish is the third most-spoken language in the world and the first language for many people in the United States (especially in California, Texas, South Florida, etc.) - the importance of having a medical one-stop shop for information in the Spanish language is more than crucial.

"There is no doubt that translating the portal for the Spanish speaking community is a good and necessary step" said the CEO of ImmersiveMedical. "We believe that opening our doors to the Spanish language will create new opportunities for plastic surgery clinics for good targeted advertising services and will help enrich the plastic surgery knowledge base world-wide"

About ImmersiveMedical:
ImmersiveMedical was established in 2006 to produce informative content about health, beauty and plastic surgery issues. Our aim is to give our clients all information needed for them to make the right decisions before choosing to perform a plastic surgery.

Highly Effective Assessment of Emotional Intelligence Assists Coaches, Trainers and HR Professionals in Development, Training and Hiring with EQ

Highly Effective Assessment of Emotional Intelligence Assists Coaches, Trainers and HR Professionals in Development, Training and Hiring with EQ

The only test of Six Seconds EQ-in-Action model, the Six Seconds Emotional Intelligence Test (SEI) predicts 54% of key performance outcomes. A learning-filled certification training equips coaches, trainers, and HR professionals to use this outstanding tool - October 17-18 near San Francisco, November 10-11 in Italy, and November 14-15 in Singapore.

San Mateo, CA (PRWEB) September 22, 2005

The only test measuring the Six Seconds model of emotional intelligence, the Six Seconds Emotional Intelligence Test (SEI) focuses on eight key skills for leadership and life. The SEI provides invaluable insight for trainers, coaches, educators, and HR professionals because the test is reliable, predicts important outcomes, and is easy to understand and to use in training and development.

New research shows that the SEI predicts 54.79% of important performance indicators that are critical to success in work and life (stepwise regression analysis against self-reported outcomes, n-665).

The SEI accounts for a large part of the difference between low and high scores on the performance assessment – predicting the following outcomes:

Health  25.13% Relationship Quality  31.68% Quality of Life  43.54% Personal Effectiveness 50.11%

The SEI also features an extensive report with over 20 pages of interpretation and development strategy. Report co-authors Anabel Jensen, Ph. D., and Joshua Freedman are world leaders in emotional intelligence education; they are among a small handful of people in the world with a proven track record of assisting individuals and organizations to develop and apply emotional intelligence. Jensen, Freedman, and the rest of the Six Seconds team have led emotional intelligence training on five continents for hundreds of professionals, establishing the most extensive and effective network of emotional intelligence practitioners in the world.

HR Professionals, coaches, and trainers have access to the SEI through a practical and engaging 2-day Certification training. The course provides a solid grounding in the Six Seconds model and using the test in development and coaching. Test authors Joshua Freedman and Massimilano Ghini conduct the course. The schedule of training is listed on http://www.6seconds. org/training (http://www.6seconds. org/training) -- upcoming courses are October 17-18 near San Francisco, November 10-11 in Italy (in Italian), and November 14-15 in Singapore.

Freedman is a world leading authority on developing and applying emotional intelligence. Director of Programs for Six Seconds Emotional Intelligence Network, the preeminent international EQ advocacy organization, Freedman delivers transformational learning programs around the world.

Ghini is a professor of business at the University of Bologna and the President of Six Seconds Italia. He is the pioneering voice for emotional intelligence in Italy, bringing the concept to business and sports leaders.

Unlike typical certification, the SEI courses are meaningful, in-depth discussions with real experts. Usha Gowri, CEO of Mindmelds Bangalore identifies the value of the Certification training: “The learning was enormous, both in terms of its application value, in the vastness of the knowledge gained and thoroughness with which it was conducted. The in-depth discussions proved the real mastery of the facilitators in the theory and teaching of emotional intelligence."

The power of the SEI is its link to the Six Seconds EQ model, an in-depth, simple, and highly effective tool for putting emotional intelligence in action. Developed in 1997, and based on over 35 years of proven experience teaching social and emotional competencies, the model encapsulates leading thinking on using feelings effectively. Wendy Wu, General Manager of China’s New Leaders International calls the SEI “the most effective and sustainable way to build emotional competency and leadership influence."

Six SecondsÂ’ model, used by many of the worldÂ’s best emotional intelligence trainers, coaches, and educators, focuses on putting EQ into action. The premise is that to make optimal, relationship-enhancing decisions, a person will reflect, choose, and respond with care. The skills are divided into three key principles:

1. Know Yourself is using self-awareness to increase insight and clarity (versus “putting your head in the sand”).

2. Choose Yourself is managing reactions and emotions so your actions follow your intentions (versus running on “autopilot”).

3.Give Yourself is using the powerful feelings connected with purpose to create emotional wisdom and strengthen personal power (versus “blowing with the wind”).

There are eight key competencies that allow someone to effectively follow the three principles. They include developing emotional literacy, managing (called "navigating") emotions, and empathy.

Participants in the Certification training will learn to deliver, interpret, and debrief the SEI and to:

Use a clear, actionable model for applying emotional intelligence. Present the SEI and the Six SecondsÂ’ model of EQ. Apply the SEI in coaching, development, and selection. Design a SEI PPDP (personal and professional development plan). Develop your own emotional intelligence.

The Six Seconds EQ Network respected worldwide for practical, in-depth, and authentic training and development. Information on the SEI certification is online at http://www.6seconds. org/training/sei. html (http://www.6seconds. org/training/sei. html)

In his role, he helps develop new technology and establish video and teleconference links between health care professionals in the United States and their colleagues in medically underserved nations. The Rutgers-Newark University College Alumni Association recently honored Konikowski for his dedication to Medical Missions and his numerous professional achievements by presenting him with the 2005 University College Distinguished Alumni Award at its annual dinner.

“I was surprised and honored when I learned about the award,” Konikowski explained. “I was always pleased with the education I received at Rutgers and it provided me with a strong learning experience for what I do today.”

Konikowski earned his degree in Marketing from University College in 1976. He has enjoyed a long and successful career which includes numerous leadership positions at several companies. He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Digital Movers, an electronic commerce solutions provider. Prior to his position at Digital Movers, Konikowski was Executive Vice-President of EB2B Commerce in New York City. In this position he grew the company from $750,000 to over $3,500,000 in annual sales. Before his position at EB2B, Mr. Konikowski was founder and President of Software Associates, Inc, a company that specialized in EDI and transaction processing systems for supply chain businesses.

Like many of his fellow University College Alumni, Konikowski worked during the day and attended classes at night. In fact, he attended night classes for nearly 10 years before earning his degree.

“It was good for me because working during the day and going to school at night helped keep me focused,” he said. “I took my education seriously. Unfortunately, I see many kids today who do not take education seriously and they are not ready to enter the real world.”

Although he has achieved much professional success, Konikowski is extremely proud of his volunteer work with Medical Missions for Children. Konikowski acts as the Chief Technology Officer and serves on the organization’s board. Through the use of telemedicine technologies, Medical Missions for Children links international doctors and their patients with mentoring hospitals in the United States to participate in the diagnosis and treatment of children. In this role, Konikowski is responsible for designing, building and expanding the Global Telemedicine and Learning Network and for managing local and remote hospitals and equipment and network service providers. He notes that nearly 30 percent of the cases with which Medical Missions assists were originally misdiagnosed.

“We realized that we could not travel to every nation on the face of the earth, so we decided about five years ago that technology was the answer to solving this problem,” Konikowski said about delivering the latest medical care to medically underserved nations. “Telemedicine places these patients directly in front of our doctors here. Every day there are new drugs, new procedures, and new techniques. We make this available through satellite communication.”

A User's Manual for Your Brain

A User's Manual for Your Brain

How valuable it would be if people could use their brains better to keep up their body's health, hold onto their mind's capabilities, and gain access to inner peace. Ilchi Lee (http://www. ilchi. com) announces that he has developed the closest thing to such a user's manual for the Brain Operating System: Brain Education. The user's manual can help people gain a sense of personal mastery over their brains and thus their lives. Called BEST 5, the Brain Education Training System process involves five steps, with each having courses that explain how to use the brain optimally.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) April 16, 2008

How valuable it would be if people could use their brains better to keep up their body's health, hold onto their mind's capabilities, and gain access to inner peace.

At last, Ilchi Lee (http://www. ilchi. com (http://www. ilchi. com)), president of the University of Brain Education (South Korea), announces that he has developed the closest thing to such a user's manual for the Brain Operating System (BOS): It is called Brain Education. He explains, "The BOS user's manual can help people gain a sense of personal mastery over their brains and thus their lives."

The Brain Education process of becoming the master of your brain involves five steps. We call these the BEST 5. BEST is an acronym for Brain Education Training System, which is comprised of the steps of Brain Sensitizing, Brain Versatilizing, Brain Refreshing, Brain Integrating, and Brain Mastery.

BEST 5 is explained in two of Lee's recent books, "Principles of Brain Management" (http://www. ilchi. com/books/brain-%26-health/principles-of-brain-management/ (http://www. ilchi. com/books/brain-%26-health/principles-of-brain-management/)) and "In Full Bloom - A Brain Education Guide for Successful Aging" (http://www. ilchi. com/blogcategory/in-full-bloom/ (http://www. ilchi. com/blogcategory/in-full-bloom/)).

A variety of educational programs corresponding to BEST 5 have been developed and many people around the world are already being educated under this system. Offered by Dahn Yoga and Health Centers (http://www. dahnyoga. com (http://www. dahnyoga. com)) and available in 10 countries, many people are benefiting from this Brain Education system.

When we buy an electronic gadget, it comes with a user's manual. Why is there no user's manual for the brain? Lee has wrestled with this question since his youth: "School learning was a struggle. How my brain worked perplexed me. I now realize that I had attention disorder." Based on what Lee learned from direct images of his own brain, he comments, "My brain is better at creating than it is at recalling things." Through three decades of research and observation, he has developed the Brain Education system.

Lee has concluded that the education most needed by human beings would focus on the brain's effective use. Without this education, most people are affected by negative information received from the world around them, thus limiting their life experiences.

If we feel hurt in personal relationships, we often go on as if nothing has happened to us. As Lee explains, "Being unaware of injuries to our brains, we do nothing. The most basic perception of Brain Education is this: "My brain is my own." When we develop a sense of ownership that says this, we can use our brains well to promote our own well-being.

Lee has set out three principles involved in using your BOS well:
You achieve what you choose. Good news creates good brains. Stay awake and pay attention. Lee affirms, "If you make use of these three principles, then you will be able to use your brain as you desire."

Deer-Tagging System Proposed, Public Input Sought

Deer-Tagging System Proposed, Public Input Sought

This story may be printed for free in any print or on-line publication. The tagline found at the end must accompany the story when printed.

(PRWEB) February 17, 2005

Deer-hunting tags are back in the spotlight, with state biologists proposing to implement a system during the 2006 hunting season. The exact system is still yet to be decided, Dave Moreland of the Department of Wildlife & Fisheries said during a Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission meeting Feb. 3. “We’re just throwing it out to discuss,” Moreland said. The move is being made for the second time in three years.

A proposed tagging system was finally canned by DWF officials in 2002 in the face of stiff opposition. But Moreland, who took over as head of DWF’s Wildlife Division several months ago, is handling the issue much differently than the previous proposal — which was formulated by departmental staff.

This yearÂ’s approach is to let the public decide

“We will use the public comment meetings (in which the 2004-05 season dates are discussed) to receive comments, and we may have more meetings to discuss it,” Moreland said. The first meeting will be held this month, although there was no date or location set in mid February.

However, Moreland did provide a starting point for the discussion. He told commission members that he foresees a system that would provide a

Combination of buck and antlerless deer tags — possibly three buck (one of which would be valid only for deer with a minimum of 6-points) and three antlerless tags. But he was quick to say after the meeting that DWF officials were open to

Whatever the public decides.

“If hunters are satisfied with two bucks, then, hey, let’s go with two bucks because you get more benefits,” Moreland said. But he believes a three-buck system would provide a good compromise between those who want the opportunity to kill more bucks and those who want to grow older deer. “Three bucks seem to be reasonable,” Moreland said. “Even with a three-buck limit, with two bucks of choice, we think most people would limit themselves to one young buck, and then they would start focusing on larger animals.” And that’s the real benefit of a reduced limit on bucks — moving more animals to older age classes.

“We’re doing it mainly because the hunters indicate they want to increase the age structure of their deer herds,” Moreland explained.

Right now, 70 percent of antlered deer killed on the stateÂ’s wildlife management areas are 1 1/2-year-olds. The rest are at least 2 1/2 years old.

Moreland said he believed the percentages statewide would be a little better, but not much.

“I would think it’s about 60 percent 1 1/2-year-olds and 30 percent adults,” he said.

By contrast, about 50 percent of the bucks killed on Deer Management Assistance Program lands are at least 2 1/2 years old. Moreland said that if a three-buck system is agreed upon, he would like to see one of the tags be legal only for deer with at least 6 points.

“It will target the larger animals,” he said.

He conceded that this still would allow the harvest of some 1 1/2-year-old bucks, but he said there needed to be some way to limit that third buck so that the program will be effective.

“I wouldn’t want my entire program to target those deer, but that’s one way to have a tagging program and reduce the impact of hunting on those younger deer,” Moreland said. But again, if hunters want to use a higher standard, the longtime deer study leader won’t stand in the way. “Maybe we could go with four points on one side,” he said.

However, Moreland did caution that setting the bar too high could have

Unintended consequences in some areas of the state. “On some of our really low-quality habitat, (a 6-point minimum) may be the

Only way to harvest some of those bucks,” he said.

Iberville Parish is a vivid example of this concern. Preliminary results of the experimental 6-point regulations indicate many of the parishÂ’s bucks donÂ’t grow six points for the first several years of their lives. Of course, one of the reasons for the failure of the 2002 proposal was that hunters werenÂ’t willing to limit their take of bucks and still have to rely on doe days to put meat on the table.

At the time, then-Wildlife Division head Tommy Prickett said he would oppose any move to use doe tags statewide without restricting the number of days. Departmental officials are now willing to give up on doe days. “The use of the antlerless deer tags wouldn’t be restricted to any particular day,” Moreland said. “That gives the hunter the chance every time he goes out there to kill a doe. Maybe we’ll get an increased doe harvest.” Moreland said he wasn’t very concerned about doe populations being depleted because most property in the state is controlled by private landowners or hunting clubs, which still can limit the number of deer killed.

State lands also will continue to be regulated to safeguard herd health, he pointed out.

And besides, Moreland said, relatively few hunters actually kill very many deer.

“Our surveys indicate that 50 percent of hunters don’t kill a deer,” he said. “Twenty-five percent kill one deer, and only 25 percent kill two or more.”

Breakdowns between does and bucks weren’t available. Moreland said a decision must be made by the end of the summer so the department can bid out the necessary changes to the license-vending system. “I hope that by May we’ll be able to come to the commission with a proposal,” he said.

Comments can be e-mailed to Moreland at Moreland_DW@wlf. state. la. us, mailed to his office at P. O. Box 98000, Baton Rouge, LA 70898. The departmental Web site also should be modified in the coming weeks to allow for comment on the subject.

Speech-Language Pathologists are Focus for Professional Development Resources

Speech-Language Pathologists are Focus for Professional Development Resources

Professional Development Resources SLPContinuingEducationOnline, a nationally accredited provider of continuing education units (CEUs) for speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and other health professionals, is now finalizing its 25th self-study course pertaining to the practice of speech-language pathology and audiology.

Jacksonville, FL (Vocus) May 1, 2009

Professional Development Resources, SLPContinuingEducationOnline has expanded its curriculum to include 25 accredited continuing education (CE) courses for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs). SLPs, who are certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed in most states, are required to maintain their clinical skills by earning continuing education units each time they renew their licenses. In the State of Florida, for example, SLPs renew their licenses every two years and are required to earn 30 hours of approved CE as a condition of relicensure.

The company’s 25 SLP courses have all undergone the rigorous review processes ASHA requires before it registers a CE course for CEUs. ASHA is the professional, scientific, and credentialing association for its 135,000 members and affiliates, who are speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and speech, language, and hearing scientists. All course manuscripts are subjected to a pilot study by a panel of testers and must be recommended by at least two peer reviewers who are experts in the topic area. The review and registration process can take anywhere from ninety days to six months.

“We have had a long and rewarding association with ASHA and the professionals it represents,” says Leo Christie, PhD, CEO of Professional Development Resources. “One of the most satisfying components has been the cordial relationships we enjoy with our valued panel of pilot testers, our expert peer reviewers, and those SLPs who have faithfully relied upon us for CEUs for many years of their professional careers. The high educational standards maintained by the ASHA CE Board and supported by the membership help keep us on our toes and inspire us to continually upgrade our own standards of excellence.”

Professional Development Resources has developed an advanced website that is designed to makes its courses readily accessible anytime, anywhere to anyone with a computer. All courses and the detailed descriptions of their content and desired learner outcomes are available on the company’s website SLPCEUsOnline. Several are online courses, which the user can purchase and complete immediately online. Other courses utilize published textbooks written by some of the best-known experts in speech, language, and hearing sciences. After studying the course, the user takes the test online. The company’s sophisticated learning platform grades tests instantly and makes certificates of completion available for immediate printing.

Working with the full range of human communication and its disorders, SLPs evaluate and diagnose speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages, from infants to the elderly. SLPs often work as part of a team, which may include teachers, physicians, audiologists, psychologists, social workers, rehabilitation counselors and others. Corporate speech-language pathologists also work with employees to improve communication with their customers.

In consideration of the broad spectrum of professional specialties practiced by SLPs, Professional Development Resources has endeavored to develop courses that address the wide range of topics SLPs need to sharpen and expand their competencies. In addition, because they frequently work on interdisciplinary teams that include other health and mental health professionals, many of the topics have cross-disciplinary relevance. Among the specialized courses are titles dealing with ADHD, Autism and Aspergers, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Articulation and Phonology, Aphasia and Other Neurogenic Disorders, Dysphasia, Dual Language Development, and Learning Disabilities.

Some of the speech and language science topics are available from Professional Development Resources are: Autism Subtypes, Feeding Issues and Nutrition Considerations, (2008) 41 pages, Articulation and Phonology Resource Guide, (2003) 336 pages, Dysphagia: Guide to Establishing a Restorative Mealtime Program, (2007) 36 pages,
Neurogenic Disorders of Language, (2006) 518 Pages, and more.

About Professional Development Resources, Inc.

Professional Development Resources is a Florida nonprofit educational corporation founded in 1992 by licensed marriage and family therapist Leo Christie, PhD. The company, which is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB), the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) – as well as many other national and state boards – has focused its efforts on making continuing education courses more efficient and widely accessible to health professionals by offering online home study coursework. Its current expanded curriculum includes a wide variety of clinical topics intended to equip health professionals to offer state-of-the art services to their clients.

LETSI Scores Global Response to SCORM 2.0 Initiative

LETSI Scores Global Response to SCORM 2.0 Initiative

LETSI, the International Federation for Learning, Education, and Training Systems Interoperability, has seen a huge international response to its July solicitation for input on the future of eLearning and the next generation of SCORM.

Piscataway, NJ (PRWEB) September 22, 2008

LETSI, the International Federation for Learning, Education, and Training Systems Interoperability, has seen a huge international response to its July solicitation for input on the future of eLearning and the next generation of SCORM. SCORM, the Sharable Content Object Reference Model, is the de facto international software standard for learning systems interoperability. Ninety-five formal white papers were submitted and posted for public comment at www. letsi. org/scorm2 (http://www. letsi. org/scorm2). Informal comments and suggestions from emails and blog posts were also accumulated and posted on the wiki.

Contributions came from government, academic, and industry experts in the USA, Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Latin America. "We are pleased to see such a diverse group of industries coming together with LETSI to solve interoperability challenges. This global effort clearly demonstrates the industry's commitment and its desire to see a universal, collaborative effort to support the future of SCORM," stated Peter Lefkin, COO/CFO of the IEEE's Industry Standards and Technology Organization (ISTO).

LETSI is a new international consortium chartered to develop technologies that promote the advancement of teaching, learning, and job training. The SCORM 2.0 Initiative is its first public activity - updating the 10-year-old standard. As papers were being posted over the summer, the LETSI wiki came alive with readers analyzing and commenting on the papers - and then responding to each other's comments. "This is the way Web 2.0 is supposed to work," said Avron Barr, LETSI's Communications Chair. "There is no single solution to the many barriers that have slowed technology's impact on education and job training, compared to its impact in other areas of our lives. Reaching out to the SCORM community, with all its diversity and expertise, has saved us a year or two in understanding the requirements for the next SCORM."

The solicitation of ideas, suggestions, use cases, and proposed solutions is the first step in fully involving the learning, education, and training community to address the challenges that lay ahead. The SCORM 2.0 process will continue through the year. A 57-person Program Committee is responsible for making sure that all of the white papers and discussion threads are analyzed, and will then organize LETSI's SCORM 2.0 Requirements Workshop, October 15-17, 2008 in Pensacola, Florida. "The focus is on meeting user needs and then looking at technological solutions to support them," explained Valerie Smothers, Deputy Director of MedBiquitous, a LETSI Founding Sponsor.

The Workshop, which is already sold out, is a working meeting where experts will discuss priorities and alternatives and begin to set a road map for SCORM 2.0. Participants have diverse backgrounds, including software architecture design, instructional design, systems deployment, and advanced learning technologies. In addition, they come from diverse eLearning communities: military training, K-12 education, higher education, healthcare certification, corporate training, and aviation training. Mike Rustici of Rustici Software, Co-Chair of the Program Committee, explained, "This is not your typical conference or seminar. Presentations and tutorials will not be the focus; instead, we'll engage in structured activities designed to bring about a multi-perspective view of the future requirements for SCORM."

LETSI advocates open processes for software standards. The wiki and all of the papers and discussions are open to the public. "We look forward to having the international learning, education, and training community involved. The use cases and thoughts brought forward, both informally and formally in the white papers, demonstrate we have much work to do," added Jungsub Yun from the Korea Institute of Electronic Commerce, another LETSI Founding Sponsor.

The International Federation for Learning-Education-Training Systems Interoperability, is a non-profit consortium of e-learning associations, standards bodies, successful adopters, and product and services vendors. LETSI, which is organized as an IEEE-ISTO program, promotes the advancement of teaching, learning, and job training through technology and believes that open software standards and an open source software community are key to the future of learning technology. A central goal is the harmonization of the work done across the diverse e-learning market, including K-12 education, higher education, corporate training, and professional education and certification. LETSI has initiated an open requirements gathering effort for SCORM 2.0 at www. letsi. org/scorm2 (http://www. letsi. org/scorm2).

Love Lavender? Come to Your Senses

Aromatherapy and Essential Oil Guide Website launches in Vancouver, WA.

Vancouver, WA (PRWEB) August 11, 2006

Launched July 2006, the Aromatherapy and Essential Oil Guide website offers resources and aromatherapy advice for the essential oil enthusiast.

Developed by two friends who share a love for lavender, peppermint, rosemary, tea tree and an endless list of scents and natural remedies, Diana Howes and Valery Amador put pen to virtual paper to develop a website that speaks to those interested in nurturing with nature.

“The Aromatherapy and Essential Oil Guide website is a place for beginners (like myself), as well as seasoned professionals (like Diana), to learn about essential oils and the magical healing properties of aromatherapy),” shares Valery Amador, co-founder and technical coordinator.

“Aromatherapy and essential oils are nature's powerhouse. When used correctly, safely and responsibly, they have the ability to help you nurture and care for yourself, your family and your home,” comments Diana Howes, co-founder and master holistic-health and life-coach practitioner.

Valery shares, “I met Diana several years ago during a massage session and knew that I had found a kindred spirit when she used essential oils during the treatment. Without a true understanding of essential oil (other then the fact that I felt wonderful when around them), I was intrigued by the scents filling the room and asked Diana about them. She shared so many wonderful things as well as her own family history in working with aromatherapy and essential oils.”

Digestive Enzyme Supplements Can Strengthen Immune System During Flu Season

Digestive Enzyme Supplements Can Strengthen Immune System During Flu Season

Consumers and health professionals can learn how digestive enzyme supplements strengthen the digestive process and overall resistance to diseases like the flu.

Asheville, NC (PRWEB) November 8, 2005

Consumers and health professionals can learn how digestive enzyme supplements (http://www. innovativehealing. com) strengthen the digestive process and overall resistance to viruses, like the flu, according to Dr. Liz Lipski, nationally-known nutritionist and author of Digestive Wellness.

With the current concern over the flu vaccine shortage and bird flu, Dr. Lipski asserts that digestive enzyme supplements (http://www. innovativehealing. com) can make people more resistant to sickness by strengthening the digestive process. Research findings show that 60 percent of the human immune system is located in and around the digestive system. Taking digestive enzyme supplements and proteolytic enzymes (proteases) can greatly increase overall resistance to the flu and other viruses.

“The immune system is our most powerful weapon against disease,” said Dr. M. Mamadou, Chief Enzymologist and Director of Research for the Transformation Enzyme Corporation. “Influenza can cause serious complications for people with compromised immune systems. Natural therapeutics and digestive enzyme supplements (http://www. innovativehealing. com) have been proven to serve as the first and best line of defense against invading microorganisms.”

Digestive enzyme supplements come in several forms and can do a variety of jobs to make the human body stronger. Dr. Lipski emphasizes that quality is important.

“Enzymes are measured by activity level, not by weight,” said Dr. Lipski, “so look for activity levels on the label. Enzyme supplements are in three basic forms: plant based (like bromelain and papain), pancreatic (from animal pancreas), or mycelial based (grown). The mycelial based enzymes can be more effective in protecting against the flu because they work in a wider range of pH environments. The pancreatic enzymes may be more flu effective for people who have diabetes or blood sugar issues.”

Because of the differences between supplements, Dr. Lipski advises consumers to look for digestive enzyme supplements (http://www. innovativehealing. com) with:

No fillers (these may interfere with the effectiveness of the supplement) Effectiveness over a wide pH range, typically 2-8 Potential effectiveness measured by “units of activity” and not by weight

Find more information on how to prepare for the flu with digestive enzyme supplements (http://www. innovativehealing. com) and proteases by visiting www. InnovativeHealing. com. Healthcare professionals should visit www. TransformationHealthSystems. com for more information.

RN Health Coaching Offers RNs Career Control In An Unstable Economy

RN Health Coaching Offers RNs Career Control In An Unstable Economy

Nurses unable to find decent employment due to the recession gain lucrative opportunities as RN health coaches, thanks to an innovative business started by and for nurses.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 30, 2009

The new area of RN health coaching provides an option to overworked nurses. Despite the fact that there is still a nursing shortage in this country, changes brought on by the economic crisis America is facing have caused nurses to work more hours, with more patients and under more stress. Companies such as L. I.T. E. Therapeutics offer training in the field of health coaching and offer a business start-up program that provides nurses with a way out of the traditional healthcare system and increased career control.

The team at RNHealthCoach. com, a leading provider of RN health coaching services is astonished with the change in the nursing crisis caused by today's recessionary economy. The Journal of the American Medical Association pointed out in late 2008 that the nursing shortfall was stabilizing. Economic shifts have caused nurses to delay retirement, increase workloads from part-time to full-time and even brought some retired nurses back to work. What this means is that the shortage of nurses is no longer as critical as it once was.

Hospitals like all other big businesses have been affected by the economic crisis in this country. The American Hospital Association reported earlier this year that half of the hospitals countrywide have downsized their workforce. According to a press release issued by this group on April 27, 2009 " Recent employment information from the Bureau of Labor Statistics confirms that hospital employment is no longer growing and that the number of mass layoffs for hospitals reported in February was more than double what it was a year ago."

These layoffs include nurses. However, people are still getting sick and being hospitalized. A visit to any busy ER proves that. The nurses that are left have no choice but to pick up the slack and take care of the abundance of patients in their care. Higher stress and heavy workloads make for poor working conditions for RNs.

RNHealthCoach. com offers a program which allows nurses to learn patented techniques of health coaching and provides certification in such techniques. It also equips RNs with a business-in-a-box which provides them with the information, tools, coaching and practical business advice needed to start their own business in no time. It is a revolutionary alternative to traditional RN jobs. RN health coaches get the personal satisfaction of long term contact with their patients and seeing them achieve their health-related goals. In addition, the RN Health Coach opportunity is flexible enough to be a part-time or full-time job.

As discussed in the Journal of the American Medical Association by Drs Ludwig and Pollack, earlier this year, economic downturns lead to inactivity and poorer nutritional choices than usual, especially by those predisposed to obesity. Such consequences of the poor economy make the market ripe for nurses to enter field as RN Health Coaches and help guide those suffering from obesity back to good health. Dwayne Adams, RN, MS of RNHealthCoach. com states "Nurses have found a solution to their current situation by branching out and providing skills to the public as an RN Health Coach."

RNHealthCoach. com is the premier online listing site for certified RN health coaches in the United States. The company also specializes in offering certification courses for health coaches, as well as a business-in-a-box option for RNs who are looking to diversify their income and take control of their own career. New SNL Kagan Study Shows Cable Networks Thriving Despite the Recession

New SNL Kagan Study Shows Cable Networks Thriving Despite the Recession

SNL Kagan experts expect total cable network revenues to grow by more than 8% over the next five years.

Monterey, Calif. (Vocus) September 10, 2009

SNL Kagan (http://www. snlkagan. com/) today released the 2009 edition of "Economics of Basic Cable Networks," the most comprehensive network-by-network analysis of the cable programming industry available.

According to SNL Kagan, overall results for 2008 were robust, despite the weak economy. Ad revenues grew 7.3% to $17.8 billion, affiliate revenues were up 11.8% to $22.8 billion and total revenue popped 9.4% to $42.2 billion.

SNL Kagan expects growth will be more modest in 2009, projecting total revenue will rise only 4.4% to $44.0 billion and cash flow will grow just 2.5% to nearly $16 billion. However, the industry is expected to rebound, with total revenue growing, on average, 8.1% per year during the 2009-2013 period, and cash flow increasing 9.6% per year.

"While 2009 won't be as strong as past years, it's likely to be just a blip in the long-term growth of an industry that has increased revenue at a CAGR of 12.6% over the past decade," said Derek Baine, senior analyst at SNL Kagan. "The exceptional performance of the industry is most evident in the networks' healthy cash flow margins, which averaged 36.9% in 2008. By 2013, we estimate half of all networks will exceed 40%."

Other highlights of the study include:
TVHH Growth: For the second year in a row, TBS reported the most cable TV households, followed closely by the Weather Channel and Discovery.  Ratings & TVHH: Due to the prevalence of delayed-viewing technology, channels that broadcast news content, children's programming and special events emerged as the ratings and household leaders in 2008.  License Fees: Sports-based channels continue to dominate the license-fee landscape (seven of the top 20 channels ranked by monthly license fee per sub are sports-based).  Advertising: In 2008, national cable ads generated an estimated $20.9 billion in gross revenue, up 7.3% from 2007. However, gross ad revenue is expected to dip slightly in 2009 to $20.3 billion.

If They Only Knew: Without Expert Help, Disability Applicants Report Facing Foreclosure, Lost Health Insurance, Drained Retirement Savings and Worsening Illness

If They Only Knew: Without Expert Help, Disability Applicants Report Facing Foreclosure, Lost Health Insurance, Drained Retirement Savings and Worsening Illness

Allsup survey finds 85 percent of applicants say the SSA should explain assistance options at beginning of Social Security Disability Insurance application process

Belleville, Ill. (Vocus) November 17, 2009

An overwhelming majority of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) applicants face grave setbacks and wish they would have known from the start that expert representation to assist them was available, according to a national survey. People with disabilities experienced financial crises, extreme stress and declining health while stuck in the federal disability backlog, according to results compiled and released by Allsup], a nationwide provider of Social Security disability representation and Medicare services.

Arthur Blair, of Gaithersburg, Md., was a program manager at a group home before a combination of osteoarthritis, severe back pain and depression made it impossible for him to keep working. During his two-year wait for SSDI benefits], Mr. Blair tapped deep into his savings and had to sell his home after he and his wife were unable to make their mortgage payments. His condition also worsened.

"I think the process takes away our humanity," said Blair. "There are no resources to help you. You are in a financially devastating position, and by the time you're approved, you have accumulated so much debt and lost everything you've worked for. It's almost impossible to recuperate what you lost."

A survey of nearly 300 successful SSDI claimants who came to Allsup after having their initial disability applications rejected by the SSA finds:
Nearly 80 percent of respondents reported facing "barriers to handling the SSDI process on [their] own," including problems with understanding (48 percent) and completing (61 percent) the necessary forms.  Three-fourths (75 percent) said the level of stress they experienced while applying for SSDI benefits was either "extreme" (39 percent) or "significant" (36 percent).  Only half (51 percent) of all applicants knew third-party representatives could help them apply for SSDI benefits.

In addition, almost 90 percent of applicants said they faced negative repercussions while waiting for their SSDI award. These included:
 Stress on family - 63 percent  Worsening illness - 53 percent  Draining of retirement/savings - 35 percent  Lost health insurance - 24 percent  Missed mortgage payments - 14 percent  Foreclosure - 6 percent  Bankruptcy - 5 percent

Almost nine in 10 (85 percent) survey respondents said they would have found it useful for the SSA to inform them in advance of their options for receiving help with their SSDI application. Another 83 percent would have found it helpful or valuable if the SSA had provided them with a list of authorized third-party representatives to choose from.

"Because applicants too often don't know help is available, too many initial claims are denied for simple mistakes that have nothing to do with the applicant's disability status," said Jim Allsup, president and CEO of Allsup. "If they only knew third-party assistance was available to professionally review their application and help properly document their disability, thousands of claimants could get through faster and avoid painful financial and personal repercussions of getting stuck in the system."

Allsup conducted the survey by mail June 29 through Sept. 4, 2009. For more information and full survey results, please contact Colleen O'Boyle, (703) 683-5004, ext. 122, coboyle(at)crcpublicrelations(dot)com.

Showing 900-plus configurations, complete with a Build-a-Beam interactive feature, Keilhauer's new microsite for Beam Seating makes specifying beam seating an easy task. http://www. keilhauer. com/beam

Toronto, ON (PRWEB) April 18, 2010

Keilhauer’s Beem Beam and Simple Beam seating expand the original series to such an extent it can hardly be called a revamp. The Keilhauer (Sittris) Beam series is launching with an extensive specification and design website (http://www. keilhauer. com/beam) of its own, displaying 4 upholstery options, 3 arm choices, 2 beam finishes, and over 900 beam configurations.

“This new microsite will make specifying our Beam seating effortless,” explains Jackie Maze, VP Sales & Marketing, Keilhauer. “We revised our model numbering system so that virtually a limitless number of configurations can be specified by anyone, regardless of their knowledge of or experience with beam seating products.”

There are now two main seating styles – Beem Beam, the original Sittris Beam, which is available in Keilhauer’s patented Siliform® covering; and Simple Beam, which places the very popular Simple mesh-back chair on the beam frame. Both seating styles are also available fully upholstered in any Keilhauer textiles, Keilhauer Leather, or COM/COL.

“Our Beam website is also interactive,” continues Ms. Maze. “If you don’t see the configuration you want in any of the over 900 that are illustrated on the website, you can use our Build-a-Beam program to create your own custom configuration and produce a pricing estimate for it.”

Beem Beam and Simple Beam are suitable for use in many environments, including health care waiting rooms, airports and other transportation terminals, corporate and government offices, schools and universities, entertainment venues, and other public spaces.
