Squaremouth Launches Comparative Visitors, Students and Immigration Insurance

Squaremouth launches Visitors Insurance, the latest in a long line of feature additions to the travel insurance site which now also allows visitors, immigrants, international students, US Visa applicants and Visa holders to compare every medical insurance product, research insurance plans, purchase and receive instant printable confirmation -- all from one simple interface.

St Pete Beach, FL (PRWEB) March 9, 2007

Squaremouth launches Visitors Insurance (http://www. squaremouth. com/visitors-insurance), the latest in a long line of feature additions to the travel insurance site which now also allows visitors, immigrants, international students, US Visa applicants and Visa holders to compare every medical insurance product, research insurance plans, purchase and receive instant printable confirmation -- all from one simple interface.

Squaremouth offers specialist medical products suitable for the following:

-- USA work visa (http://www. squaremouth. com/visitors-insurance) holders and applicants

-- International students

-- Foreign students studying within the USA

-- Family members visiting relatives in the USA

-- Missionaries

-- Aid workers, etc.

"We have taken great care to create a comparative quote engine that is unique, simple, fast and much more than just a list of products," said Chris Harvey, CEO of Squaremouth "No other site out there matches Squaremouth's comparative tools, ease of use or depth of information with instant quote, purchase and confirmation."

Squaremouth's visitors can obtain and compare quotes from hundreds of medical insurance products by answering a few simple questions. The site only returns products they are able to buy which greatly simplifies the selection process. Visitors can then compare plans side-by-side, show any individual coverage benefit for all plans, sort by price, benefit or carrier and purchase plans directly with instant PDF policy documentation.

If you are moving to the USA or traveling abroad for study or work and require in-depth information before making a purchase you can view every single benefit within every single policy, choose to research from different lines of coverage and view full policy certificates online. All carriers are hand picked based on our own rating system and also ratings from insurance industry watchdog AM Best.

"Squaremouth is an independent insurance agency," Debby Theis, VP of Operations for Squaremouth, explained. "We provide quotations only for products and companies that meet our standards of excellence. If a company has made it to our list, our customers can rest assured we will stand behind our recommendations. If we ever find the service our customers receive does not meet our expectations, we will remove the offending carrier from our site and no longer sell its products."

The Squaremouth visitors insurance quote engine is also available free of charge to websites offering information and products to immigrants and students.

Founded in 2001, Squaremouth helps customers easily and instantly compare all the major health and travel insurance (http://www. squaremouth. com) plans. To ensure customer satisfaction, only companies that meet Squaremouth's strict requirements make it into the system. Along with its unique research capabilities, the site provides instant quotes and coverage and immediate purchase confirmation.

Characterisation of Irradiated Material by Instrumented Indentation

Characterisation of Irradiated Material by Instrumented Indentation

In addition to standard tests, the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe is investigating the concept of characterisation of irradiated material by instrumented indentation. For this reason they purchased a ZHU0.2/Z2.5 modular testing system from the Zwick Roell Group (www. zwick. com) to assist them in their quest to investigate the material's mechanical properties after irradiation and to understand the irradiation damage mechanisms. Zwick was the only manufacturer who could provide a solution for this unique application.

Ulm, Germany (PRWEB) September 29, 2007

The Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe (www. fzk. de) is one of the biggest science and engineering research institutions in Europe and funded jointly by the Federal Republic of Germany and the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg. Its research and development program is embedded in the superordinate program structure of the Hermann von Helmholtz Association of National Research Centers and concentrates on the five research areas of Structure of Matter, Earth and Environment, Health, Energy, and Key Technologies.

The Nuclear Fusion Programme bundles the activities of the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe which are related to the development of technologies for a fusion reactor. These activities under the contract of Association between EURATOM and Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe are carried out within the framework of the European Fusion Development Agreement. Fusion energy is associated with the wish to supply a safe and environmentally compatible source of energy that decisively contributes to the supply of mankind's electricity consumption for the next centuries.

The Institute for Materials Research (www. fzk. de/imf (http://www. fzk. de/imf)) is involved in the development and qualification of materials as well for highly loaded plasma-facing components of the DEMO plant and for the supporting structure of the components. The development aims at high-performance materials that allow for high operational temperatures and coolant pressures under the impact of high-energy neutrons. In addition, the materials should be low activating under neutrons in order to maintain the environmental attractiveness of fusion plants.

Structural materials such as EUROFER 97, for commercial fusion reactors with expected plant lifetimes of about 30 full power years, must allow for higher operational temperatures and coolant pressures and should also withstand high neutron fluences that cause material damage such as hardening, embrittlement, dimensional instability etc.

In addition to standard tests the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe is investigating the concept of characterisation of irradiated material by instrumented indentation.

The ZHU0.2/Z2.5 has a load range of 2 - 200N, and a displacement measuring resolution of 0.02m. The system is equipped with a fully automated X/Y table and Rockwell and Vickers indenters. The indentation can be viewed through a microscope fitted with a CCD camera.

The Zwick ZHU0.2/Z2.5 is installed in a gas tight hot cell with 200 mm lead / 500 mm lead glass shielding. It carries out multistage indentation tests (load/unload) with different holding times. Neural networks then evaluate the correlation between these test data and the parameters of a viscoplastic material model, normally acquired from tensile tests.

The unique operation of the indentation tester allows it to carry out precision loading cycles up to various forces and displacements with predetermined holding times during each cycle. testXpert® , Zwick's software platform for materials testing, is used to control the machine and obtain the synchronised force and indentation data. This data is then stored in a special format and transmitted to the neural network system to determine the material properties such as Young's Modulus, Yield and ultimate tensile strength as well as hardening coefficients.

Medication Reconciliation Webinar Presents Case Study Highlighting Effective Solutions for this Complex Healthcare Challenge

Medication Reconciliation Webinar Presents Case Study Highlighting Effective Solutions for this Complex Healthcare Challenge

The complimentary webinar called “Medication Reconciliation: One Big Pill to Swallow” is being offered for a second time due to overwhelming interest on November 10 at 1 pm EST. NOVACES will present how Lean Six Sigma was used to implement several creative solutions that have improved healthcare quality and increased revenue simultaneously.

New Orleans, LA (Vocus) October 11, 2010

In response to heightened interest on the subject of medication reconciliation, NOVACES announces that it will offer a second airing of its webinar “Medication Reconciliation: One Big Pill to Swallow.” The company, a management consulting firm that provides process improvement and Lean Six Sigma services to the healthcare industry, will present this webinar based on a case study from a project completed at a New York hospital system.

The results from the project being presented during the webinar on November 10 at 1 pm EST draw upon the company’s extensive experience with the difficult decisions facing hospitals to manage complex processes, reduce costs and improve patient care quality. During the first improvement pilot of this case study, there was not a single medication reconciliation error. Now the improvements have been fully implemented and Vickie Kamataris, a registered nurse and master change facilitator for NOVACES, will walk attendees through how the team did it and describe how one innovative solution enabled the team to generate an estimated $1.3 million in new revenue to pay for all the changes.

The solutions developed during this project were the result of the application of Lean Six Sigma for healthcare. Lean (a rapid and simple approach to drive non-value added activities, or waste, out of processes) and Six Sigma (a rigorous, data-driven problem-solving method) have demonstrated remarkable successes in hospitals that have employed these proven methodologies, especially when combined to be used as one integrated process improvement program.

“The implementation of new process improvement methods in hospitals does not have to be complicated,” says Brian MacClaren, Chief Operating Officer for NOVACES. “Focus a team on an important project and provide them with the right process improvement tools. The key to solving tough healthcare challenges, such as medication reconciliation, is to be innovative while keeping solutions as simple as possible.”

The webinar will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2010 beginning at 1:00 pm EST and is free to registered attendees. Go to http://www. novaces. com/med-rec-webinar to register or for more information about Lean Six Sigma for healthcare visit http://www. novaces. com/healthcare.

SHAPE Awards SHAPE Provider Certification to 34 Medical Providers

SHAPE Awards SHAPE Provider Certification to 34 Medical Providers

Certification Program Promotes Early Detection and Treatment of Heart Attack Risk in Apparently Healthy People

Houston (PRWEB) September 9, 2010

SHAPE, The Society for Heart Attack Prevention and Eradication (http://www. shapesociety. org (http://www. shapesociety. org)), a nonprofit organization that promotes the early detection and treatment of heart attack risk in apparently healthy people, today announced that 34 medical providers from around the world are among the first to earn SHAPE Provider Certification. The program promotes the early detection of coronary artery disease (CAD) through identification of clinically appropriate patients for non-invasive CAD screening, and awards certification based on a rigorous process of training and examination.

SHAPE Provider Certification adheres to the First SHAPE Guideline for screening to identify hidden CAD in asymptomatic (apparently healthy) patients. The First SHAPE Guideline established standards for the careful and responsible implementation of scientifically proven atherosclerosis tests to detect hidden plaque buildup in coronary and carotid arteries, and recommended the tests be incorporated into routine screening for at risk men and women as they age.

“We are pleased to award SHAPE Provider Certification to these deserving medical providers and encourage them to continue advancing preventive cardiology,” said JoAnne Zawitoski, chairwoman of the SHAPE Board of Directors. “SHAPE Provider Certification is a way to incorporate the First SHAPE Guideline into patient care. It helps patients and referring physicians identify cardiology specialists who are following best practices by managing patient care to reduce the incidence of acute coronary events and CAD-related mortality. We also believe that SHAPE Provider Certification can help to improve clinical outcomes for patients by employing scientifically proven screening methodologies as a part of a physician’s preventive medicine practice.”

In addition to SHAPE Provider Certification, SHAPE encourages best practices in heart attack screening through SHAPE/Heart Health Centers of Excellence. Unlike traditional cardiovascular clinics that are primarily focused on preventing a second heart attack, SHAPE/Heart Health Centers of Excellence focus on the prevention of a first heart attack. To date, clinics in Arizona, Florida and Pennsylvania have been designated SHAPE/HeartHealth Centers of Excellence.

SHAPE Provider Certification addresses the needs of cardiologists, radiologists, internists, family physicians, primary care providers, OB-GYNs, preventive medicine specialists and non-physician providers. Specific educational modules include: appropriate patient selection for CAD screening, risk assessment for subclinical CAD, coronary artery calcium scoring, carotid IMT testing, understanding the clinical and economic burden of global cardio vascular disease (CVD), comparison of available screening tests, and how to use the First SHAPE Guideline to improve patient outcomes.

SHAPE Provider Certification coincides with the SHAPE Society's Certified Centers of Excellence Program. For more information about these certification programs for your practice or hospital, please contact Dr. Jeff Fine at (803) 360-4756 or jfine@jandjmedical. net.

Sisters Bless Community $11,000 Awarded in Community Grants

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Inc., announce $11,000 in community grants to be awarded 7pm, Thursday, September 23rd at their next Grants Give-a-way at Harvey's Restaurant (Castro & 18th streets in San Francisco). Since their founding in 1979, the Sisters have raised and distributed well over $500,000 to non-profit organizations that serve queer and marginalized communities.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) September 16, 2004

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Inc., announce $11,000 in community grants to be awarded 7pm, Thursday, September 23rd at their next Grants Give-a-way at Harvey's Restaurant (Castro & 18th streets in San Francisco). These funds are possible through the generous donations at the Pink Saturday Celebration this past June and are in addition to the Pink Saturday gate partner grants. "I'd like to think its my stunning beauty and the high heels that seduce the money, however, I must admit it's the genuine goodwill of the folks at Pink Saturday that enables us to provide much needed assistance to a spectrum of organizations that strengthen our community." said Sister Selma Soul, Board Member of the Sisters. Since their founding in 1979, the Sisters have raised and distributed well over $500,000 to non-profit organizations that serve queer and marginalized communities.

"The Sisters choose to support charities that are confronting inequality, celebrating diversity and beauty, and comforting those in need. Some of the most moving requests came from a children's Polynesian dance troop looking for new costumes, an agency that provides non-judgmental post-abortion counseling to Latinas and a community arts project for developmentally disabled adults using visual arts to express acceptance and tolerance for the queer community." states Sister Roxanne Roles, Treasurer for the Sisters.

Community Grants with short description of project:
Free Battered Women is a volunteer based coalition that strives to end the re-victimization of incarcerated survivors of domestic violence. Since 2003, they have helped secure the release of twelve incarcerated survivors. The Polynesian Dance Club at Malcolm X Academy Elementary School in Bayview Hunter's Point provides a renewal source of community pride and inspiration. The Sister's grant will cover the cost of uniforms for 25 performers in this joyous performance group. The Harvey Milk City Hall Memorial Committee is installing a bust in San Francisco City Hall of San Francisco's first openly gay politician and inspirational community leader - Harvey Milk whose life was tragically ended by assassination. "Let's put Harvey Milk back in City Hall." The STOP AIDS Project Leather Events Action Group is introducing a cutting-edge HIV prevention workshop series for the leather, fetish, and BDSM communities in San Francisco. The Stonewall Project is publishing a color brochure - How Speed Effects the Body. This informational handout along with their website tweaker. org provides non-judgmental harm reduction content to gay and bisexual men of San Francisco who use methamphetamine. Exhale is an Oakland-based organization that provides non-judgmental counseling, information and referrals to women and girls after an abortion, with complete respect for reproductive freedom. The Sister's grant will expand outreach to the Spanish speaking population. Recycled AIDS Medicine Program (RAMP) supplies hundreds in Mexico City and Santiago Chile with HIV/AIDS medications that would otherwise be thrown away. Their mission is to be a bridge for people until they can enroll in a stable treatment program. Youth Gender Project is working to empower and advocate for trans, gender-variant, and questioning youth. Their upcoming Genderblast V will feature workshops, entertainment, possibly even the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. The AIDS Housing Alliance/SF is a first-of-a-kind housing referral service for people living with AIDS. They provide apartment listings, deposit assistance, and advocacy for those in need. Bay Area American Indian Two-Spirits exists to restore and recover the role of two-spirit people within the American Indian/First Nations community. They foster an understanding of the LGBT Two-Spirit through outreach pow wows and local Pride celebrations. The Filipino Task Force on AIDS is committed to end the increasing risk of HIV and AIDS in the Filipino Community. They have provided linguistically appropriate and culturally sensitive information and support services to over 25,000 LBGT Filipinos. ACCESS/Women's Health Rights Coalition has ensured that low-income, young, uninsured, immigrant, and rural women have access to affordable reproductive health care and accurate sexual health information. Catherine's House is a program of the Catholic Worker Farm at Earth Abides Land Trust in the Sierra Nevada foothills. It is a retreat center for persons living with AIDS and other terminal illnesses. The Sacred Dying Foundation is focused on improving end-of-life care and awareness. They are hosting a workshop for hospices, medical facilities, and religious congregations to discuss vigil programs and quality care. Creativity Explored is an artistic organization serving those with developmental disabilities. Through their work, they promote identity, tolerance, and diversity within the community - a place where art changes lives. The Quan Yin Healing Arts Center provides traditional Chinese medicine treatments and acupuncture healing to HIV positive clients through its Tenderloin clinic. It has become internationally recognized for their community-based model of health services. BUILD produces a diverse spectrum of public art exhibitions involving a variety of local artists and cultural communities. Their Sugar Valley project is meant to promote contemporary art practices within the queer culture. Sac Valley POZabilities provides free activities and outlets for persons living with HIV/AIDS in the Sacramento Valley. Activities have included river cruises, campouts, picnics, and cultural trips to San Francisco museums. Everything is Going to be Just Fine Productions is creating a short film called "The Fairy Tale". This light-hearted campy comedy supports positive and happy gay relationships and celebrates a same-sex wedding scene on the steps of City Hall. The Zen Hospice Project provides a spectrum of innovative programs including residential care, volunteer services and education. They seek to cultivate wisdom and compassion through service.

Historically, The Sisters have given grants to under-funded, smaller organizations and projects providing direct services to queer and marginalized communities. "This year, grant applications were submitted by a wide variety of human service, education and arts organizations, many were first time requestors of the Sisters," stated Sister Roxanne Roles. Blessed by the generosity of the community, the Sisters in turn make thoughtful, timely and much needed grants to worthy organizations to educate, liberate and serve those in need.

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Inc. is a 21st Century Order of queer nuns. Since their first appearance in San Francisco on Easter weekend, 1979, the Sisters have been accused of "Ruining it for Everyone" with habitual injection of gaiety into serious affairs including human rights, political activism and religious intolerance. The Sisters consider it their mission to "ruin" all detrimental conditions including complacency, guilt, and the inability to laugh at one's self.

Best-Selling Cookbook Authors Jessica Seinfeld and Bob Greene Share Their Favorite Recipes With Dream Dinners

Cooking like a celebrity has never been easier! For the next three months, Dream Dinners customers can prepare meals from the pages of Seinfeld and Greene’s personal recipe collections

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) December 14, 2010

Dream Dinners, the country’s leading meal assembly service, today announced partnerships with New York Times Best Selling cookbook authors Jessica Seinfeld and Bob Greene, offering customers an easy way to share the celebrities’ recipes with their families in the coming months.

Seinfeld, who recently appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Showto promote her new cookbook Double Deliciousis known for brilliantly sneaking vegetables into her family’s meals to ensure her husband Jerry and three children are getting the nutritional benefits of the vegetables without the whining and complaining. Her turkey meatloaf, a selection from her first cookbook Deceptively Delicious, is available on Dream Dinners menus throughout December.

“Every mother knows the agony of trying to get their kids to eat vegetables so we instantly fell in love with Jessica’s smart style of cooking,” said Stephanie Allen, President and co-founder of Dream Dinners. “Jessica’s recipe is a delicious and lighter take on meatloaf, and in just the first few weeks, we’re already hearing rave reviews from our customers.”

Starting in January, customers can also try recipes from another longtime friend of Oprah, renowned fitness expert and trainer, Bob Greene. In addition to authoring a number of New York Times Best Selling health, nutrition and fitness books, Greene has a website, TheBestLife. com, which helps subscribers track calories and maintain a fitness routine tailored to their weight loss goals. His newest title The Life You Want: Get Motivated, Lose Weight, and be Happy will be released January 2011.

To kick off the New Year with healthy resolutions in mind, Dream Dinners will feature two of Greene’s recipes, Sweet & Sour Chicken and Mediterranean Salmon on January and February menus respectively. As part of the two-month partnership, Dream Dinners will also offer their guests a special discounted annual rate to try Greene’s fitness plans at thebestlife. com.

“The problem for most people is that eating healthy in the New Year usually equates to lots of extra time reading labels and meal planning, and they fall off of the weight loss wagon by March,” said Allen. “Bob’s recipes, like many at Dream Dinners, make it easier to eat better on a regular basis without the hassles. We just print out the calories per serving so our guests can type them into thebestlife. comand match them to their fitness goals.”

The company, which has also partnered with celebrity chefs Emeril and Martha Stewart in the past, says it plans to continue offering celebrity recipes to guests as an exclusive privilege.

“To try a recipe from a renowned chef can be intimidating, but at our locations nationwide, we’re taking all the prep work out of cooking like the pros,” commented Tina Kuna, Dream Dinners President and co-founder. “We’re thrilled to team up with these two respected chefs in the coming months and look forward to many more partnerships to give our customers exciting new selections.

Carb Cops Low Carb Superstore Announces Opening in Redondo Beach

Carb Cops Low Carb Superstore Announces Opening in Redondo Beach

Carb Cops has announced January 1, 2004 as the opening date for their Low Carb Superstore in Redondo Beach, CA.

Redondo Beach, CA (PRWEB) December 26, 2003

"We're proud to have Redondo Beach as our first location," said Carb Cops COO Sean Williams. "Our goal is to encourage anyone interested in a low carb weight loss program. This inlcudes anyone out there with a New Year's resolution to get rid of those extra pounds."

Since 1997, 4 of the top 5-diet/health books sold in America have focused on the benefits of reducing your carb intake for weight loss and improved health. One book in particular, "Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution", initially published in 1992, still sells at a rate that rivals Harry Potter. In the last two years, health media has taken a more favorable view towards carbohydrate reduction, as more scientific studies are released validating the effectiveness of this nutritional approach. Entertainment media, like People Magazine, consistently cover the hottest diets of the stars. In the last two years, more and more of these diets are low carb.

In addition to consumers seeking effective methods of weight loss, an ever-increasing number of medical patients are discovering that in order to maintain their health, they must maintain a sugar-free, low-carb diet the rest of their lives. Some of these patients are: Bariatric patients, women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, people suffering from Fibromyalgia, Multiple Sclerosis, Addison 's disease, Epilepsy, Candida, obesity, depression and other health issues.

Williams adds, "The low carb/sugar-free market is increasing with overall poor health, the sharp rise in diabetes, and increasing obesity due to misinformed consumers."

In addition to a large selection of low carb and sugar-free products, Carb Cops will conduct a free "Low Carb Academy" twice a month in order to better educate consumers on the advantages of choosing a low carb/sugar-free lifestyle. They will also offer free weigh-ins and body fat analysis for their customers as well as a growing online community at CarbCops. com for people to share advice and experiences.

"I had been exercising for almost 7 months but didn't experience a significant weight loss until I went low carb, dropping 30 pounds in about six weeks and have been able to keep it off for over a year." adds Williams, "We just want to share the success that we've experienced."

Carb Cops Low Carb Superstore will be located at 2739 Manhattan Beach Blvd., on the northwest corner of Manhattan Beach Blvd. and Inglewood Ave. The location is conveniently located just 1/4 mile from the 405 Freeway entrance on Inglewood Avenue. Carb Cops can be reached at (310) 297-9292 and their web site address is www. CarbCops. com.

Walden University Offers New Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems Degree Program

Walden University Offers New Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems Degree Program

Walden University is expanding their degree program offerings to the fast growing field of information technology. The new BS degree will be offered alongside the current programs in business administration, psychology, and child development.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) August 13, 2008

Walden University, one of the nation's largest online providers of graduate degrees, is offering a new Bachelor of Science (B. S.) in Computer Information Systems degree, designed to provide students with the technical and business skills they need to advance their careers in information technology--the fastest-growing sector in the economy, according to the U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The new B. S. in Computer Information Systems program adds to Walden's undergraduate offerings in business administration, psychology and child development.

"The Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems program blends academic theory with real-world experience so that students can acquire the skill set most sought after by today's information technology managers, including the interdisciplinary skills least likely to be outsourced. The new program also offers the latest technologies in online learning, including podcasts that can be downloaded to portable devices for maximum flexibility," said Dr. Wanda S. Gravett, associate dean of Walden's School of Management.

Employment opportunities are expected to remain strong in the information technology industry as demand for highly trained professionals grows in response to rapid advances in computer technology, continuing development of new computer applications and the growing importance of information security.

According to a recent national poll from the Association of American Colleges and Universities, nearly two-thirds of employers say that "too many of today's graduates lack the skills to succeed in our global economy." Walden is directly addressing this critical-skills gap by including elements such as global awareness in its undergraduate curriculum. As a member of the Laureate International Universities network, Walden has a growing international student body that gives students a unique opportunity to gain a diverse, global perspective.

Students in Walden's B. S. in Computer Information Systems program will be able to translate their online learning experience to the workplace and improve their ability to work across organizational, disciplinary and geographic boundaries. Adult learners can earn their degrees while balancing work and personal commitments and prepare themselves for an increasingly global economy and job market.

Students will also gain experience in conducting group analysis and designing projects; in communicating effectively with co-workers, employers and other professionals; and in using specialized information technology tools. Concentrations are offered in Educational Computing, Healthcare Informatics, Human Computer Interaction, Information Systems Management, Information Systems Security, Online Work and Communities and a Self-Designed option.

Walden's bachelor's degree programs in computer information systems, business administration, psychology and child development also effectively transition into closely related graduate programs for students who want to continue their education in their disciplines. Walden recently introduced a Master of Information Systems Management degree program to help prepare students for leadership in the creation and management of information systems, processes and services that meet organizational needs.

Walden provides students access to academic advisors, tutors, university librarians and a full range of other student support services to help ensure that they have what they need to succeed in their studies.

All Natural Relief with Pomegranate: Just in time for September's Menopause Awareness

All Natural Relief with Pomegranate: Just in time for September's Menopause Awareness

Solid science about the powerful pomegranate has resulted in a new, completely safe and effective all natural solution to a common health concern of women of all ages: vaginal dryness. Pure, high quality plant-derived oils have been shown to soothe delicate tissues and increase natural moisture for women, especially during menopause.

Rochester, NY (PRWEB) September 2, 2009

Leave it to the team of pomegranate experts at Rochester, NY-based Pomegranate Health (www. pomhealth. com) to come up with this brand new, completely safe and effective, all natural solution to a common health concern of women of all ages: vaginal dryness. Women everywhere will want to know about how using only the highest quality, food grade extracts of pomegranate and other natural ingredients can help ease so many discomforts women experience each month that are associated with hormonal imbalances, peri-menopause, and menopause.

Here now -- right in time for September's Menopause Awareness Month -- is a reliable answer.

This latest development in pomegranate technology is ideal for all women who are seeking a highly effective vaginal moisturizer, one which has been meticulously formulated to provide on-going relief from vaginal dryness, itching, burning, and irritation, while promoting all natural tissue renewal. MoisturePom Vaginal Ointment was developed using pure extracts of the pomegranate; its innovative, all-natural formula represents a major achievement in women's health care. It is the result of years of diligent research and focused product development.

Vaginal dryness can be caused by many issues, including fluctuating hormone levels associated with menstrual cycles, peri-menopause, menopause, stress, and other lifestyle factors. Women want to use natural products they can trust; and that is why the researchers at Pomegranate Health created this new formula: MoisturePom provides an all natural solution - for women of all ages - by featuring the best that Mother Nature has to offer.

Pure, Food Grade Plant Oils ONLY … No Water, No Artificial Lubricants, No Chemicals

The ingredients in MoisturePom have been carefully selected, and consist ONLY of pure, plant-derived oils, each of which naturally contains an array of nutrients that are easily absorbed, providing fatty acids and antioxidants directly to the delicate vaginal tissue cells. This formulation is designed to help with the repair of thinning tissue (caused by aging) which allows the body to be able to produce its own moisture - naturally - not from artificial lubricants or petro-chemical coatings. In addition to the pure pomegranate extracts, the other ingredients are of the highest quality: extra virgin olive oil, cocoa seed butter, and coconut oil, all of which are natural, food-grade ingredients. Additional advantages of using these plant oils in this formula are that they absorb quickly into the skin tissue without blocking or sealing skin pores (as happens with mineral oils and petrolatum, neither of which contain any nutrients); they don't leave a greasy coating on the skin; and they wash off easily with soap and water.

It's All in the Ointment …
One key factor in MoisturePom's formulation is that it was specially created as a waterless ointment. This is important because skin tissues are naturally hydrophobic; one function of the skin is to block water, but skin tissue will easily absorb oils. That means that the water found in most skin care products just winds up evaporating! That's one of the key reasons why water-based products do not work very well, or not for very long. MoisturePom's waterless formula is designed to be easily absorbed, and remains stable without the addition of harsh chemical preservatives.

About Pomegranate Health: Unlocking the Power of the Pomegranate

Shawnee Man Gives His Time and Money to Feeding Kansas City’s Hungry

Shawnee Man Gives His Time and Money to Feeding Kansas City’s Hungry

Employer and Co-Workers Admire and Supports Arthur Lott’s Desire to Help Others.

Kansas City, KS (Vocus) August 12, 2010

What started four years as a selfless way to give back to people in his community has grown into a passion for Shawnee, Kan. resident Arthur Lott. Today, Lott purchases, prepares and delivers more than 450 meals to men, women and children at three Kansas City, Mo. homeless shelters each month.

Lott, a debt collector for Shawnee Mission, Kan, based Synerprise Consulting Services, began delivering meals at the City Union Mission in Kansas City because, “I just wanted to give back,” he said. Soon after he added meal delivery to reStart Shelter and the City Union Family Shelter. With a state sponsored nutrition and public health training class under his belt, Lott learned to provide a balanced meal, which is most often a turkey sandwich, crackers or cookies, chips and juice.

Chris Coffman, Lott’s colleague at Synerprise Consulting Services and president of the Kansas Collectors Association, supports his efforts and feels Lott’s compassion to others is in high demand these days. “Arthur’s commitment to collecting donations, buying food and working two days a month passing out meals to families and people in need is inspiring, particularly during these difficult economic times,” Coffman said.

Synerprise Consulting Services employees embrace Lott’s efforts and regularly contribute resources. Over the years there have been friends and family that have joined him in serving meals but he typically works alone. “He is a soft-spoken, humble family man who quietly has committed to carrying out his mission, even involving his son at times like Christmas and Thanksgiving,” added Coffman.

Lott’s career and volunteerism share a common theme of passion for helping others during challenging times. “I’m proud of my work and enjoy helping people – it’s the same for volunteering, I knew that I could help people who really needed it and it is making a real difference,” he said.

Greensleeves, "The Green Dry Cleaner" Announces the Launch of its Newsletter/Blog "Living the Green Way"

Greensleeves, "The Green Dry Cleaner" Announces the Launch of its Newsletter/Blog "Living the Green Way"

Long Island "Green" dry cleaner joins the community effort to reduce our carbon footprint. The blog/newsletter launched November1, 2007 will become a central source for news and information on improving the health of the immediate environment.

Glen Cove, NY (PRWEB) October 31, 2007

Greensleeves Garment Care announced the launch of its weekly newsletter and blog "Living the Green Way" found at http://www. thegreenwayblog. com (http://www. thegreenwayblog. com) available beginning November 1st. It will contain regular articles on improving the health of our immediate environment, reducing our 'carbon footprint' and the decreasing the amount of personal pollution. PLUS: Customer discounts exclusive to the readership.

Since its opening less than a year ago, Greensleeves Garment Care (http://www. DistinctiveCleaners. com (http://www. DistinctiveCleaners. com)) has been setting new standards in the dry cleaning industry. This revolutionary new dry cleaner, the concept of Geraldine Frechette and Thomas C. Davis Jr. breaks away from the traditional mold of the typical corner cleaners. Greensleeves is a modern garment care center that would first be non-toxic, and not just clean items but restore and renew the garments. Quality and process fit for the new millennium.

"The Green Dry Cleaner" as they are known, opened its doors with a full week of free dry cleaning. "The idea," owner Davis says," was to get people to try a better, safer way of dry cleaning. The interest was overwhelming."

"At first, most were skeptical," Davis explained, "but when they saw the quality of the cleaning with no more chemical smell, they were amazed". He pulled a cashmere sweater from the racks and said, "Feel this". The cashmere had a remarkable softness to it. "That's how cashmere is supposed to feel."

The new process used is GreenEarth Cleaning, a silicone based cleaning agent that actually softens as it cleans, and it is good for the fibers where the old toxic dry cleaning solvent Perc, faded colors and wore the fabric. GreenEarth has grown in popularity on the west coast but has been slow coming to the East. Greensleeves has combined GreenEarth Cleaning with state-of-the-art wet cleaning in a completely green dry cleaning plant.

Ever on the cutting edge, Greensleeves turned to the break-through design for garment finishing; Tensioning - Finishing that gives a near flawless finish every time. The pressing often takes longer than the old-fashioned manual presses prevalent in most dry cleaners but the quality is of a completely new level. From start to finish, Greensleeves is the future of dry cleaning.

This announcement today brings Greensleeves to the community in a way new to dry cleaners. It supports the health of the environment and gives news and advice on developing a necessary compassion for nature and the planet on which we all live. Local businesses have often associated themselves with community events but rarely have they made the kind of commitment Greensleeves has put forward in the form of a permanent obligation to help and assist improving the community.
"It's simply the right thing to do," owner Thomas Davis stated with a smile.

Walnut Acres Makes Healthy Eating Squeezably Fun With First Organic Fruit Snacks in a Tube for Kids

Aug 22, 2002

NEW ROCHELLE, N. Y. (August 22, 2002) – In time for back-to-school, Walnut Acres – America’s original organic food company – announced today it is introducing the newest addition to its certified organic family: Walnut Acres Certified Organic Fruit Squeezies, apple sauce to go in a convenient tube. Available in two kid-tested, tasty varieties, Berry Wild and Wild Apple, the Fruit Squeezies contain pureed certified organic apples, organic grape juice concentrate, natural flavors and added Vitamin C. The certified organic snacks do not contain any synthetic pesticides, artificial colors, flavors, preservatives or sweeteners.

Walnut Acres Certified Organic Fruit Squeezies are convenient squeezable tubes of apple sauce that do not need to be refrigerated and are mess-free. Parents like the delicious snacks made with organic fruit in part because they do not have to worry about foil tops tearing or leaking into purses, diaper bags or backpacks. Kids like the Fruit Squeezies because they taste great, they can eat them with one hand and the graphics of skateboarding fruit characters on the tubes and carton are cool. Frozen, refrigerated or right from the box, Walnut Acres Fruit Squeezies are a healthy alternative to sugary, fat-filled, high calorie kids’ snacks and help children fulfill the “Five A Day“ recommendation for fruit and vegetable servings. Each two-ounce tube contains 50% of the RDA for Vitamin C and only 35 calories. Vitamin C is an important antioxidant and is key to the formation of collagen, a protein that gives structure to bones, cartilage, muscle, and blood vessels. Vitamin C also helps maintain capillaries, bones, and teeth and aids in the absorption of iron, making it an essential nutrient, especially for kids during their formative growth years.

According to a recent report published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association (ADA), kids can get almost one-half of their daily calories from snacks. Researchers believe that unhealthy snacking is a significant cause of rising obesity rates among children. “The ADA recommends that nutritious, low-fat snacks can have a significant impact on kids health,” said Mark S. Rodriguez, CEO of Acirca, Inc, the maker of Walnut Acres certified organic foods & beverages. “Our new Fruit Squeezies are not only high in vitamin C and fat free but are also certified organic and not made with any man-made chemicals and preservatives. We know moms feel good about giving these to their children and kids like the taste and the cool packaging.”

Beginning in September 2002, Walnut Acres Certified Organic Fruit Squeezies will be available in conventional supermarkets, natural supermarkets and independent health food stores for the suggested retail price of $2.99. Each box contains 8 individual Fruit Squeezie tubes.

“Walnut Acres is committed to making only the best certified organic foods & beverages that are delicious and convenient and help our customers to Live PureÔ,” said Mark Koide, vice president of marketing at Acirca. “And now we can hopefully contribute to kids’ improved dietary health with fun and healthful products like certified organic Fruit Squeezies.”

Like other Walnut Acres products, including ready-to-serve soups, pasta sauces, juices and salsas, the new Fruit Squeezies carry a call-to-action to encourage purchasers to join Walnut Acres in the fight against hunger with Share Our Strength, one of the nationÂ’s leading anti-hunger organizations. The company will donate $500,000 over five years to the fight against hunger.

All Walnut Acres products meet or exceed the strict U. S. Department of AgricultureÂ’s National Organic Program standards of certified organic foods and beverages. Walnut Acres products never contain synthetic preservatives, artificial sweeteners, sulfites, extenders, stabilizers, MSG, artificial flavors or colorings.

Established in 1946, Walnut Acres is America’s original organic food company and is owned by New Rochelle, N. Y.-based Acirca, Inc., makers of fine certified organic foods and beverages. The name Acirca is inspired by the phrase “a circle of life” and reflects the company’s commitment to the development of products that help consumers obtain better health and are good for the environment. Acirca is a privately held company owned collectively by company employees and independent investors. The company strives to bring convenience in packaged certified organic foods to health conscious consumers wherever they shop.

My Fair Lady - Fashion, Fair Trade and the Fate of Nations

My Fair Lady - Fashion, Fair Trade and the Fate of Nations

Fair Trade Supporter and Fashion Model Summer Rayne Oakes joins the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy, People Tree, and others for a Fair Trade Symposium and Fashion Show during the WTO Talks in Hong Kong.

(PRWEB) December 12, 2005

Summer Rayne Oakes will be the lead model for the Fair Trade Symposium to be held in Hong Kong during the WTO Ministerial "Human rights at work, environment, and human health, particularly in developing or least developed countries have been overshadowed by global trade rules in the past," comments Oakes. "The purpose of the Fair Trade Symposium and People Tree's fashion show is to demonstrate that by providing fair wage and fair prices, families and their communities are given opportunities that wouldn't otherwise be made available."

Ben Lilliston, the Communications Coordinator for the Institute of Agriculture and Trade Policy (IATP), one of the organizations heading up the Fair comments: "Summer Rayne has been and continues to be a leader for fair trade in fashion. Her involvement in the fair trade fashion show in Hong Kong is very important. It helps demonstrate to trade leaders the broad support for the fair trade movement from countries around the world and from all segments of the fashion industry."

Director of the 2005 Fair Trade Fair, Patricia Jurewicz agrees, "I'm delighted that Summer Rayne is able to make the trip to Hong Kong and contribute to our Fair Trade Fair. Not only will she be an asset to the fashion show, but she will be speaking at our press conference, blogging about her experience, and putting us in contact with a whole new network of fair trade supporters. It's a breath of fresh air to work with someone who is so versatile, has convictions and really understands the advantages of fair trade."

Understanding fair trade comes easily to Oakes. She will be representing two brands at the Fair that she models and consults for under her company, SRO, LLC. These labels include Mercado Global and a high-end luxury line, AD Schwarz, which will be due out in the U. S. in 2006. She will also be bringing information on TransFair USA, the only third-party certifier of Fair Trade products in the United States. "I met the TransFair crew just the other day," comments Oakes. "Paul Rice, CEO of TransFair said it best: 'We are breaking the cycle of generational poverty. With fair trade, we can reach our hand halfway across the world and help someone put food on their tables or stay in school.' Now that is both a powerful and sobering thought."

Current market numbers for fair trade products ring in at around $500 million annually and are quickly increasing between 40 and 700% across the world, most likely due to consumer education and interest. The Fair Trade Symposium will highlight this growing interest over three days and will feature: a press conference, an opening reception, a one-day symposium, and a fair trade fashion show, all of which Oakes will be a part of. She will also be one of many independents managing a play-by-play of the happenings for the Fair Trade Symposium and Radio Hong Kong blog. Viva Fair Trade.

File Zipping and Unzipping, without the Stress

File Zipping and Unzipping, without the Stress

Whirling Dervishes Software and Neobyte Solutions have released Alpha ZIP v. 1.2, an intuitive Windows file compression utility that makes it easy for beginners to zip and unzip files. Unlike complicated compression utilities that require users to choose among dozens of features that they will rarely use, Alpha ZIP presents a fresh, friendly interface that takes the frustration out of compressing and decompressing files.

(PRWEB) June 15, 2006

Whirling Dervishes Software and Neobyte Solutions have released Alpha ZIP v. 1.2, an intuitive Windows file compression utility that makes it easy for beginners to zip and unzip files. Unlike complicated compression utilities that require users to choose among dozens of features that they will rarely use, Alpha ZIP presents a fresh, friendly interface that takes the frustration out of compressing and decompressing files.

Version 1.2 includes a new setup feature that lets software developers distribute their application downloads in archives that are easier for their prospects and customers to use. When users click Alpha ZIP's setup option, they're presented with an easy-to-understand set of instructions for installing and running their new software. Version 1.2 also features a fresh approach to the processing of self-extracting files.

With Alpha ZIP, business and home users can download and send files, documents, and images quicker and more easily. The program shrinks files, and lets you send them safely across the Internet. Alpha ZIP takes the complexity out of zipping and unzipping files. Its intuitive process lets you identify what files you're processing, where they're located, and exactly what you're doing with the files.

Alpha ZIP is completely integrated with Windows, making file compression a snap. All of its archiving operations are one right-click away. Alpha ZIP's archives behave exactly like ordinary Windows folders, so there are no new procedures to learn. You can even compress a group of files and email them, in a single operation.

While most people use compression software for files that they download or email, Alpha ZIP has other time - and money-saving uses. You can easily archive old records and documents that you rarely use. Alpha ZIP will compress them to a tiny fraction of their original size, and make them available when they're needed. By shrinking files and saving disk space, you avoid the need to buy new disk drives as you accumulate more and more data on your computer.

Alpha ZIP includes all of the features that you would expect in a high-end archiving program. The built-in integrity check tells you if your files are healthy. In addition to ZIP files, the program also handles RAR, TAR, CAB, LHA, LHZ, JAR, TQZ, and all formats, old and new. Alpha ZIP is fully integrated with the most popular virus scanners.

Whether you're a software developer who wants to provide your users with a more sophisticated setup to install your application, a home user who wants an intuitive interface for doing occasional zipping and unzipping, a business person who needs a rock-solid application that will speed up the emailing of documents, or a student who needs to shrink and manage huge amounts of information, Alpha ZIP has the tools that you need.

Alpha ZIP v. 1.2 runs under Windows 98/Me/NT4/2000/XP/2003, costs $29.95(US) for a single-user license, and may be purchased securely online at http://www. alphazip. com/ (http://www. alphazip. com/). You can download a free 20-day trial version from the same web address.

The company will continue to invest in its “Analytic Freedom SoftwareTM,” which is one of the first products to tackle the growing field of unstructured data analytics. Care for Newborns Leads List of Most Expensive Claims

Care for Newborns Leads List of Most Expensive Claims

Medibank Private has released the amounts of its ten most expensive hospital claims last year, with a combined cost of $2.76 million.

(PRWEB) February 26, 2010

A single health insurance (http://www. medibank. com. au/) claim of almost half a million dollars for the care of a newborn baby leads the list. At $439,626 for the surgery and the long-term hospital accommodation required, the benefit paid for the procedure is 20% above Medibank Private’s previous highest claim.

In total, five of the ten largest health care benefit payments listed in the latest report are for neonatal care, including care for three extremely premature babies born between 24 and 28 weeks. According to Medibank Private Chief Executive Officer, Bruce Levy, this is unexpected but highlights the unpredictable nature of health.

“We all know health funds (http://www. medibank. com. au/Health-Covers/Get-a-quote-or-join-now/Switch-from-another-fund. aspx) are expensive and, while this lists our greatest claims, it is indicative of the growing cost and just how expensive it can be.

“The individuals appearing on the list, or the parents in the case of the infants, probably never thought they would require hospital services to the extent these claims indicate. Fortunately Medibank is here to help them cover these alarming costs.

“While the top ten claims represent only a tiny proportion of the over $2 billion in benefit payments we pay each year, the number of high cost claims valued over $10,000 are growing rapidly.

“In 2009 we paid 44,164 claims over $10,000, an increase in 23 percent from 2008, a dramatic increase that is emblematic of growing costs in all areas of the Australian health system.

"These figures also illustrate the limits to self-insurance. With costs of $10,000 and above increasingly common, and health costs growing as fast as they are, people relying on self insurance are risking their financial and their physical health,” he said.

In financial year 2008-09 Medibank Private paid a total of $2.36 billion in hospital and medical benefits, an increase of 10% from the previous year. Medibank Private members were admitted 862,748 hospital admissions in the period.

LegalView Offers Free and Comprehensive Traumatic Brain Injury Information to Returning Troops

LegalView Offers Free and Comprehensive Traumatic Brain Injury Information to Returning Troops

With a Marine on trial at Camp Pendleton for actions possibly attributed in part to head injuries, and the Army launching a traumatic brain injury education campaign for troops, TBI is an important and evolving issue for our democracy. LegalView would like to remind service members, their loved ones and other citizens that it offers an extensive collection of easy-to-understand scientific and legal information about brain injuries.

Camp Pendleton, California (PRWEB) August 10, 2007

With the U. S. Army's announcement on July 17th of an aggressive campaign to teach its million-plus soldiers about traumatic brain injuries (TBI), LegalView. com would like to remind all Americans that it offers one of the Internet's most complete collections of information on TBI. The Army's campaign, which will also teach soldiers about post-traumatic stress disorder, focuses on the two conditions because research shows they are becoming overwhelmingly common among service members who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Walter Reed Army Medical Center reported that it treated a third of its active-duty patients for such an injury between 2003 and 2005. Recognizing that this public health issue could affect an entire generation of young soldiers, LegalView. com is proud to offer factual, easy-to-understand and free information to military families -- and the other 1.4 million Americans affected by TBI each year -- at its Traumatic Brain Injury Lawyer (http://brain-injury. legalview. com/) Information Portal.

The Army's announcement came at roughly the same time experts in a U. S. Army Court Martial Trial gave testimony about the effects a brain injury may have had on Marine Cpl. Trent Thomas, who was on trial for helping to kidnap and execute an Iraqi man. A medical expert for the defense testified that Thomas survived more than 25 bomb blasts -- four of which knocked him unconscious -- which may have led to a brain injury that could have increased his aggression and limited his ability to disobey illegal orders. Despite this testimony, Cpl. Thomas was convicted on July 18, 2007 on charges of conspiracy and kidnapping. Thomas received no additional jail time, with a dishonorable discharge, according to the Marine Corps Times.

LegalView. com's traumatic brain injury attorney (http://brain-injury. legalview. com/) portal offers information on the tragic cumulative effects of the multiple brain injuries Thomas sustained, as well as articles on TBI and the military, self-advocacy for victims, families affected by TBI, treatment options and more. The portal also offers a TBI blog; information on jury verdicts in TBI lawsuits; news feeds; a glossary of TBI terms; informational videos; and pointers to books and web sites with more information.

LegalView's traumatic brain injury portal is part of an entire suite of informational portals on important contemporary legal topics. Those who have been in an auto accident -- another leading cause of TBI - can visit the comprehensive collection of car crash lawyer (http://crash. legalview. com/) information. Those seeking more information on a birth injury attorney (http://birth-injury. legalview. com/) can find it in abundance at birth-injury. legalview. com. And patients who have taken the diabetes drug Avandia can visit avandia. legalview. com for a wealth of information on an Avandia attorney (http://avandia. legalview. com/). For readers who are ready to look for a lawyer to help address these or other subjects, LegalView offers a nationwide, confidential and completely free attorney referral service.
