"Class size is limited to 10 so we can provide in-depth, one-to-one training in a group situation," said Everett Rawlings, president of The Inspection Experts Inc.(TIE), which has taught about 2,000 persons since its start 13 years ago.
TIE also provides continuing education to inspectors in seminars held across the
United States. The continuing education classes are accredited by the American Society of Home Inspectors.
Also president of Federal Building Inspectors Inc, one of the top five home inspection firms in America, Rawlings said the training program is best for those with some mechanical ability and good people skills.
"It takes time and hard work to build the business, but it's an excellent field where one can make a very good living each year," he said. "From the firefighters in Seattle, Wash., to the mining equipment sales person in Tennessee, we've taught here people from a wide range of backgrounds. "
The demand for inspectors is high, said Rawlings.
"The healthy economy is good
For the home inspector industry. Home sales create many opportunities for top
Inspectors," he said. "And that's the type of inspection training we offer."
Rawlings is secretary treasurer for the National Association of Home Inspectors
(NAHI). He is immediate past president of NAHI's Florida chapter, the Home Inspectors Association of Florida. He also is a past president of the Florida Association of Building Inspectors and former national board member of the American Society of Home Inspectors.
