Grantham University Develops Unique Mobile Testing Unit to Serve the Military

Grantham University is pleased to announce that it has been authorized by the College Board to develop a mobile National Test Center capable of providing computer-based CLEP testing for service members and eligible military spouses.

Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) November 22, 2010

Grantham University, an online university dedicated to providing educational opportunities to working adults for nearly 60 years, is pleased to announce that it has been authorized by the College Board to develop a mobile National Test Center (NTC) capable of providing computer-based testing for service members and eligible military spouses to receive college level credit through the College Level Examination Program (CLEP).

Earlier this year, the University began offering CLEP testing at its campus in Kansas City, and has just started offering these tests through its mobile unit at locations across the United States that do not have regularly scheduled access to a NTC. Recently, Grantham University provided mobile testing services at the annual meeting of the 347th Recruiting Squadron of the U. S. Air Force in Wisconsin.

"This is a great opportunity for small or remote military units to have a NTC temporarily set-up to provide service members and eligible spouses with access to CLEP tests," said Dr. Jeff Cropsey, Grantham University Vice President for Strategic Initiatives. "This new initiative not only continues our mission of meeting the educational needs of service members; it also fulfills the desire for testing, not available previously, at many active duty, Guard and Reserve locations."

CLEP tests are accepted for transfer credit by hundreds of colleges and universities, including Grantham, and are offered at no charge to the military. Credit obtained through CLEP also saves millions of dollars in government tuition assistance each year while accelerating degree completion for our nation’s service members.

For more information about the program or to schedule a visit from the mobile testing unit, please contact Ms. Kelly Pedotto, Grantham University’s NTC Program Manager, at: NTC(at)grantham(dot)edu.
