Teen and Youth Issues Spotlighted at "A Focus on Youth" Conference
The California Family Health Council (CFHC), a not for profit organization dedicated to sexual and reproductive health care is pleased to announce its successful sponsorship of the 2007 "A Focus on Youth" conference held Oct. 5-6 at the Hilton Pasadena located at 168 S. Los Robles Ave.

The California Family Health Council (CFHC) (http://www. cfhc. org/?source=prweb), a not for profit organization dedicated to sexual and reproductive health care is pleased to announce its successful sponsorship of the 2007 "A Focus on Youth" conference held Oct. 5-6 at the Hilton Pasadena located at 168 S. Los Robles Ave.
CFHC, which provides grants to clinics, community and faith based organizations, specifically designed the two-day conference to bring together grantees from counties throughout California that were funded for programs such as the Infertility Prevention Project, Partners in Youth, Learning Labs and Peer Provider Programs. Altogether, the event had 35 clinics in attendance focused on teen, family and youth services.
"This conference was an outstanding success," said CFHC's President/CEO Margie Fites Seigle. "I think we developed a great program that added a lot of value to our attendees focused on teen issues."
During this exciting conference, grantee staff and youth shared lessons learned, discussed challenges and successes experienced, as well as learned new strategies from experts in teen and youth development.
Among the featured sessions will be Improving Contraception Education and Counseling; a special session featured the Japanese Taiko drumming group from UCLA. Video and testimonials were produced and will be posted on TeenSource. org (http://www. teensource. org? source=prweb), CFHC's teen website promoting teenage sex education, teen pregnancy and STD preventnion.

California Family Health Council (http://www. cfhc. org/?source=prweb) supports and facilitates the outreach and health services in community-based organizations in California; it helps by building the capacity of community organizations and providing an informed public voice to support family planning, reproductive health and women's health care services. The organization distributes federal Title X family planning funds to agencies serving low income communities, and also provides technical assistance, training and financial services. CFHC is funded by private foundations, federal monies and research grants. Currently, CFHC works with over 60 health agencies to provide medical and non-medical health care services to approximately seven hundred thousand clients every year.
