San Pablo, CA (PRWEB) August 1, 2006

Over 2,000 students from the Bay Area will take part in a one-day sports and fitness program on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at Contra Costa College in San Pablo. The event is sponsored by the Blacks Sports Agents Association (BSAA) is the brainchild of Kennedy High School graduate Andre Farr.

The 2nd annual BSAA Sports and Music Camp is open to students in grades K-12 and features instruction by professional athletes and entertainment performers in the fields of basketball, soccer, football and baseball, plus dance and choreography.

The highlight of the day will be when mega hip-hop sensation and multi-platinum recording artist Missy Elliott will teach a dance routine and then put on a short concert for the campers. In addition to Elliott’s moves, choreographer Debbie Allen will also be getting the kids moving as she teaches a dance class at 8:45 that’s sure to get the campers’ blood pumping.

“This is something that our members (BSAA) take very seriously,” said Farr, who is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BSAA and also serves on the Board of Directors of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Physical Fitness Sports Council. “This is our giveback. It’s one of 12 camps we hold across the country in underserved communities.”

In addition to the camp’s interactive fitness and integrated nutrition program that emphasizes total body conditioning and wellness, all of the students must take part in the Disciplined and Respected Entreprenurial (D. R.E.) Program, a summer internship program that teaches the kids entrepreneurial skills. Headlining that part of the program is Quintin E. Primo III, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Capri Capital Advisors, LLC of Chicago.

“It’s never too early to start talking to kids about how important it is to think about their future,” said Primo, who is also a major sponsor of the event. “I’m a big believer in mentoring children, and that’s why I’m involved in this camp that is designed to empower our youth to become disciplined and respected young entrepreneurs.”

A similar camp will be held in the Los Angeles area on September 9. MTV’s Nick Cannon will be the headliner of that camp.
