Boston, MA (PRWEB) September 8, 2010

Arcadia Solutions (http://www. arcadiasolutions. com/), a national healthcare IT consulting firm, was recently certified by the Massachusetts e-Health Institute (MeHI) as an official Implementation Optimization Organization (IOO). The designation is exclusively given to organizations that meet MeHI’s capability requirements for the installation, implementation and optimization of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems that support achievement of Meaningful Use.

"We are pleased to have Arcadia Solutions join our select list of certified health IT companies that will help thousands of health care providers across Massachusetts successfully transition to electronic health records," said Rick Shoup, Ph. D., Director of the Massachusetts e-Health Institute. "Widespread deployment of electronic health records leads to better quality care for patients, reduces health care costs and spurs new jobs in the health care industry."

To date, MeHI initiatives have helped support the use of EHRs in areas, such as e-Prescribing, a statewide Health Information Exchange (HIE) network and Meaningful Use. These MeHI efforts have significantly contributed to Massachusetts’ long-held place at the forefront of healthcare innovation in the United States. The state is a perennial leader in e-Prescribing utilization, and the patient data exchanges, made possible by EHRs and a statewide HIE, are helping to improve care outcomes across the state.

“The IOO certification for Arcadia is a confirmation of the expertise we have continually exhibited in the advancement and adoption of health IT, “said Seth Henry, President of Arcadia Solutions. “As we continue to work with MeHI, we look forward to our role in delivering EHR solutions that drive Meaningful Use obtainment.”

As a certified IOO, Arcadia will work cooperatively with MeHI and support the vision of the Regional Extension Center for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Arcadia’s services will be utilized for the implementation and optimization of EHR systems at provider settings across the state, resulting in the improved quality and value of care.
