Jobscience announces annual Innovation $2500 Winner

Premiere Healthcare Workforce Systems Provider credits 24 Hospitals for their innovative approaches in Human Resources

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, August 3, 2004 - Jobscience (http://www. jobscience. com (http://www. jobscience. com)), the InternetÂ’s top healthcare applicant tracking provider, counts over four hundred innovative healthcare employers as clients. The past decade has seen many innovations to improve staffing effectiveness and retention, reduce reliance on staffing agencies and overtime, raise service and safety levels. This year Jobscience chose five leaders in the industry for the Innovation Prize.

Initially, Jobscience narrowed its review to the top twenty-four submissions: Danbury Health System, Riverside Health System. Atlantic City Medical Center, Iowa Health, King's Daughters Medical Center, Morton Plant Mease Health Care, Sunnyside Community Hospital, St. Mary's Medical Center, Broward General Hospital, University Community Hospital, Health Alliance - Fort Hamilton Hospital, White County Medical Center, Northlake Medical Center, Inova Health System, Cooper University Hospital, Children's Memorial Hospital, Partners HealthCare System/North Shore Medical, Community Health Network, Capital Health System, Freeport Health Network, Cambridge Health Alliance, Missoula Developmental Service Corporation, Shore Memorial Hospital, and Texas Health Resources.

Among that group, four facilities were chosen as the Runner-ups: Community Health Network, Capital Health System, Shore Memorial, and St Mary's Medical Center. Each runner up will receive a $500 U. S. Bond.

The grand winner for this year’s Innovation Prize, awarded with a $2500 US Bond, is Riverside Health System, who introduced an Automated Position Control System to enhance their HR processes. The System interfaces with changes made to the Employee Data Base and provides “Best Practice” reporting of vacancy rates, skill mix configurations, the assignment of employees within departments, and communications between HR and customer departments. Larry L. Boyles, Sr. VP of Human Resources, at Riverside Health System, nominated his team for building the system because he is proud of “its design, functionality, and its positive impact on managing recruitment and staffing processes.”
