Midbrook Medical, the Jackson, MI, based manufacturer of custom fabricated medical equipment and decontamination systems has received a contract from the U. S. General Services Administration which will run through 2014.

The General Services Administration (GSA) acts as the purchasing agent for the U. S. Government. By entering into contracts with various businesses, the GSA is able to provide goods and services to federal agencies at pre-negotiated prices. As a GSA approved small, woman owned business, Midbrook will be able to market and sell its products to the federal government, military, and certain international organizations, such as the World Health Organization. “We take very seriously the opportunity, as well as the responsibility, to provide US government run facilities with high quality, economically competitive products,” says Midbrook Business Development Director Jamie Crowley. Midbrook Medical will also appear on the GSA Advantage website, allowing federal agencies to search for and purchase their products electronically.

Midbrook Medical has already obtained GSA approval on a wide range of medical equipment, including multiple styles and sizes of stainless steel case carts, instrument and utility tables, documentation stations and cabinets. ATP testing equipment is also available as part of the contract.

Having a GSA contract will provide several benefits to both Midbrook Medical and any interested buyers. First, the intensive approval process ensures that any products that a business wishes to list with the GSA are guaranteed to be priced fairly and reasonably. In addition, the contract allows federal agencies to purchase goods at a pre-negotiated price. This enables buyers to avoid the complicated and time consuming process of asking for and obtaining bids on the open market. By using the GSA Advantage website, agencies can purchase Midbrook Medical’s products online, resulting in a drastic decrease in procurement lead time.

By becoming an approved vendor, Midbrook Medical joins a group of GSA contacted businesses responsible for approximately $66 billion in financial transactions each year. This contract also represents an important step in the relationship between Midbrook Medical and the U. S. Government. “As a designer and builder who manufactures all our products in our facility in Michigan, we feel we are challenged to earn this opportunity by providing durable, custom stainless steel fabricated assemblies such as mobile surgical case carts, work stations, storage cabinets, as well as cleaning and decontamination equipment,” says Crowley. “With each order, we confirm the government’s faith in the American workforce.”

Midbrook is the minority owned provider of custom medical fabrications and decontamination systems, process specific, high volume aqueous part cleaning systems, sealed solvent cleaning systems, and water bottling equipment.
