Record Crowd Learns Overseas Retirement Strategies at InternationalLiving. com conference in Las Vegas, Nevada

Political gridlock, a falling dollar, and uncertainty about health care led to a record-breaking 500 attendees at the largest InternationalLiving. com conference in the 30-year history of the publication.

More than 500 attendees, presenters, and staff members converged on the Red Rock Casino, Spa and Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada last weekend for the largest ever InternationalLiving. com (http://www. internationalliving. com) event on living and investing abroad.

“The turnout was incredible,” said InternationalLiving. com Publisher Jackie Flynn. “We were very gratified to have so many attendees, but it wasn’t a surprise, considering the enormous political and economic uncertainty gripping the U. S. More people than ever are looking for a better life at a lower cost than they can get in the U. S. right now. The options available overseas have always made sense, but more people than ever are realizing that these options aren’t just pipe dreams. As they learned at this conference, you really can live better for less overseas.”

InternationalLiving. com’s 2010 Live and Invest Overseas Conference ran September 17-18 and marked the 30th anniversary of the company that specializes in providing information and resources for retiring, living, and investing in healthy, affordable places around the world.

Attendees heard first-hand from experts and current expats from Belize, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Uruguay, Italy, France, Argentina, Panama, and other places around the world where great weather, beautiful scenery, a healthy lifestyle, and excellent medical care can be had for a fraction of the cost in the U. S. and Canada.

No one knows exactly how many people have already moved overseas looking for a better life at a lower cost. But if the record attendance at InternationalLiving. com’s annual Live & Invest Overseas Conference was any indication, more will be joining them soon.

“Attendance at all our conferences has been rising,” says Flynn. “Most of our half-dozen events each year take place outside the U. S., so we knew there would be some pent-up demand for our only U. S.-based conference. We were pleased earlier this year when we had more than 350 attendees at our event in Quito, Ecuador. But we didn’t anticipate filling every seat in our 500-seat Las Vegas venue and having to cut off registration weeks before the actual event.”

Upcoming InternationalLiving. com events include the Live and Invest in Mexico (https://orders. internationalliving. com/CLB121A/W121L515/landing. html) Conference to be held in Mexico’s Caribbean beach resort town of Tulum on November 11 – 13, 2010.
