In April and May, Vytra Health Plans offers a series of wellness seminars and online chats, open to the public at no charge, featuring experts addressing questions and concerns on a variety of health and wellness issues:
·Domestic Violence: Online chat session with Rachel Kalish, Community Educator from the Victims Information Bureau of Suffolk County. Thursday, April 22, from 1:00 p. m. to 2:00 p. m.
·Autism: Examining the Evidence: Seminar presented by Dr. Lynda Geller, Director of Community Services and Education at the Cody Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities at Stony Brook University. Discussion will focus on the facts about treatment and programs, and explain the basis of current controversies. Question and answer session included. Tuesday, April 27, from 7:00 p. m. to 8:30 p. m..
·Diabetes Awareness Seminar & Health Fair: Free screening will be available from trained professionals, along the latest clinical information about diabetic retinopathy from an ophthalmologist, and up-to-date nutrition information from a registered dietitian. Nurse Educators will be on hand to answer questions. Lunch provided. Saturday, May 15, from 10:00 a. m. to 2:00 p. m.
·Cancer: Screenings & Prevention: Online chat session with Stacey Roberts, RN, CWOCN, from the American Cancer Society, Eastern Division. Wednesday, May 19, from noon to 1:00 p. m.
