An Indianapolis-based health-care solution company begins the national launch of minor-care clinics right here in its own backyard.
MindGent Healthcare Clinics is pleased to announce its first Corner Care Clinic opens October 23 in the Dr. Aziz Pharmacy, located at 7320 East 82nd Street on the city’s northeast side.
The Corner Care Clinic offering is in partnership with Cardinal Health, the leading provider of products and services supporting the health-care industry, and are exclusive to the wholesaler. Dr. Aziz Pharmacy is a Leader® member pharmacy, the independent retail offering from Cardinal Health. Currently, there are more than 3,300 Leader® stores around the country.
Dr. Aziz Pharmacy already provides a number of unique services to customers including drug compounding and the addition of a Corner Care Clinic only adds to its already undeniable community benefit. Since 1988, pharmacist and owner Hamid Abbaspour has overseen the operation and care of his clients, but this new venture gives customers a more convenient and cost-effective health-care option.
“I have many customers who don’t have their own physician,” Abbaspour said. “This allows them to seek treatment for minor ailments and be referred to physicians for more acute issues.”
Corner Care Clinics are staffed by nurse practitioners licensed to treat minor illnesses including bronchitis, strep throat, ear infections and flu. They can also administer several types of wellness screenings and vaccinations.
MindGent, under the direction of President and CEO Julie Beckner, plans to launch 30 clinics in 2006 throughout the Midwest and projects that in each of the next five years, it will open more than 100 clinics.
