Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Professional Education Center will be hosting the Fourth International Palliative Care in the 21st Century Conference on Thursday, September 8, 2005, at Columbia University.

Distinguished speakers include Byron Good, Ph. D., Chair and Professor of Medical Anthropology at Harvard Medical School and Professor of Anthropology at Harvard University; Mary-Jo Delvecchio Good, Ph. D., Professor of Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School; Linda Emanuel, MD, Ph. D., Professor of Medicine and Director of the Buehler Center on Aging at Northwestern University; J. Donald Schumacher, Psy. D., President & CEO of the National Hospice & Palliative Care Organization; William Breitbart, MD, Professor of Psychiatry at Weill Medical College of Cornell University and also Chief of Psychiatry at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center; Rabbi Amy Eilberg, MA, MSW, the first woman to be ordained as a Conservative Rabbi by the Jewish Theological Seminary of America; Dr. Concetta Tomaino, Director of the Institute for Music and Neurologic Function and Vice President for Music Therapy at Beth Abraham Family Health Services; Richard Dundy, MD, Medical Director at Jacob Perlow Hospice/Continuum Hospice Care, and others.
