The Human Capital Foundation Will Hold Annual Fundraising Dinner to Benefit Children in Ethiopia
The Human Capital Foundation, an international charitable organization that provides direct assistance programs to help AIDS orphans and children living in extreme poverty in developing countries, announced today that it will hold its annual fundraising dinner on May 17 from 6:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. at Dartmouth College's Hopkins Center in Hanover, NH. All proceeds will support the Selamta (be at peace) Project in Ethiopia.

The Human Capital Foundation, an international charitable organization that provides direct assistance programs to help AIDS orphans and children living in extreme poverty in developing countries, announced today that it will hold its annual fundraising dinner on May 17 from 6:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. at Dartmouth College's Hopkins Center in Hanover, NH. All proceeds will support the Selamta (be at peace) Project in Ethiopia.
The event will feature the New Nile Orchestra, young Ethiopian dancers in their native costumes, and an authentic Ethiopian meal. Tickets are $75 for adults and $25 for students.
"100 percent of the proceeds will benefit children in Ethiopia," said Carol Foster, Executive Director of the Human Capital Foundation. "HCF is run completely by volunteers so every penny will be used to support the children in our care. This is our big fundraiser of the year and we hope to have a good size crowd. Besides sharing cultures, our Ethiopian dinner represents an opportunity for the Upper Valley to get involved in a direct, village-to-village kind of way."
The Human Capital Foundation's first project in Ethiopia was the Selamta Project, which includes a children's home, sponsorship and reunification programs, a clinic, and the creation of small group homes to accommodate the growing number of AIDS orphans. All children and family members have access to educational opportunities and medical intervention at the Selamta Free Clinic. The Selamta project is intended to serve as a replicable model that can be extended throughout Ethiopia, Africa, and to other developing regions.
