Center for Future Health Retains eXubrio to Launch New Proactive Health Center of Excellence

Paul McAfee, CEO of eXubrio, LLC, will help the University of Rochester's Center for Future Health develop a value proposition and marketing program to launch the new Proactive Health Center of Excellence.

Rochester, NY (PRWEB) November 15, 2004

The University of RochesterÂ’s Center for Future Health today announced that it will work with eXubrioÂ’s Paul McAfee to develop a value proposition and marketing program to launch its new Proactive Health Center of Excellence.

Paul McAfee works pro bono each week as an Entrepreneur in Residence at the UniversityÂ’s Office of Technology Transfer. The Center for Future Health approached him in this role for assistance.

“We invited Paul to help us develop the value proposition, key messages, and launch strategy for our newest initiative,” said Cecelia Horwitz, associate director of the Center for Future Health. “Paul’s skills helping startup companies at the Office of Technology Transfer are exactly what our Proactive Health Center of Excellence team needs to ensure a quick success.”

“Proactive Health” refers to a non-invasive system of inexpensive sensors that alerts individuals directly when their health status is trending out of their normal limits. The system automatically assesses each individual’s health patterns, much the way your grandmother might have done. This system will require new measures for earlier detection of changes in health status. These measures, called “New Vital Signs” measures, are the next frontier in health research and health management. They will provide the quantitative measures of health that enable early detection.

McAfee is CEO of management consulting firm eXubrio, LLC. eXubrio serves emerging technology companies by helping them to improve their marketing and sales effectiveness while carefully managing their limited early-stage funds.

About the Center for Future Health

The Center for Future Health (www. futurehealth. rochester. edu/ (http://www. futurehealth. rochester. edu/)) is a focused research program that develops the needed technologies for self care, mobile care, and home care. This is an inter-disciplinary team of physicians, health practitioners, bio-organic chemists, computer scientists, informaticists, engineers, and behavioral scientists. The team is working towards inventing smart technology and wireless systems that allow consumers to maintain health, detect the onset of health problems and manage disease. The vision is for the data that is collected to reside in the home and be interpreted by the software into health intelligence. This personal record will be in a form that is usable by consumers. Consumers can share the information with their medical providers, if they choose.
