There are more than one million new cases of skin cancer diagnosed each year in the US. Taking simple precautions such as applying sunscreen whenever you are exposed to sunlight can dramatically reduce your risk of developing skin cancer. Always wear a sunscreen of at least 15 SPF or greater and remember to reapply. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, 80% of our lifetime sun exposure occurs before the age of 18. It is very important to educate children and their caregivers about the dangers of skin cancer.

The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends over 200 different products to help protect you and your children from dangerous UV radiation, from UV protective window film to laundry detergent additives to increase the UV protection of clothing. For a list of these products you can call the Skin Cancer Foundation at 800-SKIN-490.
