SAN DIEGO, CA (PRWEB) July 9, 2005

The Woman's Heart proudly announced today the launch of their web-based support program designed to provide resources for relapse prevention in women who have sought substance abuse treatment or alcoholism addiction treatment. The Woman's Heart has taken up the mission of “helping women come home,” connecting women in recovery to create an unrivaled support network that leverages the power of peer support and technology. The Woman’s Heart benefits not only the women who have left active treatment but those who have not yet sought treatment and are struggling to maintain their lives.

“Until now, the challenge of connecting women to the needed aftercare and support has gone virtually unmet. Treatment is not recovery.” said Stephanie Moles, founder of The Woman's Heart. “We are bridging the gap from a woman leaving a treatment facility to her returning home for lasting recovery.

The Woman's Heart was launched to provide support and services that, until now, were not widely available to recovering alcoholic and substance addicted women. The services made available include hundreds of women available to connect and support women in treatment. All services provided on the site are free of charge.

In addition to upcoming web-casts designed to support women in their desire for family, child welfare and parenting needs, The Woman's Heart is partnering with known experts to educate for the prevention of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders and the spread of HIV/AIDS by providing online education and access to up-to-date resources about these important healthcare concerns, and of course substance abuse prevention.
