Akron, OH (PRWEB) January 20, 2010

Mark Jenney, an Akron-area philanthropist and entrepreneur, made a donation to the Barberton Community Foundation last week.

The Foundation, which has been raising money since December of 1996 under the mission statement “to improve the quality of life for citizens of Barberton,” has granted more than $53 million to the City of Barberton, the Barberton Health District, Barberton City Schools, and the many nonprofit agencies that serve Barberton.

"I grew up in Barberton, and I feel that had a huge impact on the person that I am today," said Mark. "It's a great city and I owe it so much. I’m happy to give back to the community there."

Donors who contribute to the Barberton Community Foundation can donate in any amount to any new or existing funds. In addition, donors can create a new fund through the Foundation for a donation as small as $1, along with a commitment to raise at least $5,000 within five years.
