(PRWEB) March 9, 2005

The National Coalition for the Advancement of Drug-Free Athletics, Inc. (NCADFA), a New Milford based, N. J. non-profit organization, is pleased to announce that its 2005 anti-steroid community out-reach campaign called “Natural-by-Choice.¨ Their program was recently featured on “New York’s most listened to radio station,” 1010 WINS on Wednesday, January 19, 2005 through Friday, January 21, 2005 as a three part series.

1010 WINS reporter, Alice Stockton-RossiniÂ’s interview with NCADFA Founder and President, Dr. Victor Naumov, DC and NCADFA co-founder and Director of Community Out-reach, Dr. Tom Kersting, PhD, aired in sound bites as part of a three day steroid awareness effort aimed at reaching student-athletes, coaches parents and teachers across the tri-state area.

The latest statistics indicate, “Approximately 500,000 of high school athletes are currently using anabolic steroids.” The NCADFA’s 2005 Natural-By-Choice Campaign,¨ is a national effort aimed at reducing steroid use among teens and helping raise awareness about today’s hottest and most controversial topic facing high school sports; the use and abuse of performance enhancing drugs i. e. anabolic steroids.

NCADFA President, Dr. Victor Naumov, DC says, “As we see it, the dirty little secret is already out and there are only two choices: As an athletic mentor you can either position yourself as part of the problem by choosing to turn a blind eye to this issue or as part of the solution by taking a proactive step and tackling the topic head-on. I believe the first step in reducing steroid use among teens is being able to discuss the topic openly. Research indicates, ”talking about the dangers surrounding the use of any drug, the use of that drug has been shown to decline up to 20%.”

“The goal of our Natural-by-Choice high school program is to expose the facts and the myths surrounding the use of anabolic steroids, to encourage communication between student-athletes, their parents and coaches regarding the topic, and to help student-athletes make better choices when it comes to performance enhancement and their health.¨

As part of the 2005 Natural-by-Choice Campaign and "Choose Not To Use" message, NCADFA is proud to sponsor: Teens, Sports and SteroidsÂ…the Myths, the Magic and the Madness, an interactive Power Point seminar presented by Dr. Victor Naumov, DC, BA.

The mission of the National Coalition for the Advancement of Drug-Free Athletics, Inc. is to support the advancement of drug-free athletes at the national level through the development of community out-reach educational, leadership and drug awareness programs.
