Pinnacle Career Institute (PCI) is now enrolling for the newly created Information Technology - Web Programming and Application Support program at its South Kansas City campus.

Pinnacle Career Institute (PCI) is now enrolling for the newly created Information Technology - Web Programming and Application Support program at its South Kansas City campus. The program is designed for those with an aptitude for computers, as it combines web design, web programming and IT support to prepare students to obtain employment in the booming information technology field.
Upon completion of the 18-month program, students should possess the necessary skills to begin a career in information technology. Graduates will be able to assist in supporting and maintaining web sites, applications, systems and end-users; develop web sites, web systems and multimedia; utilize a variety of word processing, desktop publishing and spreadsheet software programs; and understand effective professional, interpersonal and customer service interaction strategies. At the end of the program, students will receive hands-on experience through an externship and learn the skills necessary to be competitive in the workplace. Graduates of the program may qualify for positions as web programmers, web designers, web systems support specialists and general support specialists.
PCI has chosen to offer this broad-based program in response to the high demand for skilled technicians in this expanding field. According to the U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of computer support specialists is expected to increase by 14 percent from 2008 to 2018, and employment for web programmers is expected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations between 2008 and 2018. As businesses increase technology to remain competitive, the demand for employment also increases.
