Sweet Water at Largo Hosts Visit by Amerigroup 'Long Term Care' Specialists
Representatives from Amerigroup visited Sweet Water at Largo (www. SweetWaterAssistedLiving. com) to discuss benefits and eligibility requirements for the "Long Term Care Diversion Waiver," which in Florida is designed to help seniors get services they need to continue living at home or in an assisted living facility.

As part of their ongoing outreach to health care professionals, co-owners Michael and Kory Stoeckle welcomed representatives from Amerigroup to Sweet Water at Largo, 11290 Walsingham Rd. The assisted living facility has been involved with Amerigroup and the "Long Term Care Diversion Waiver" program for about five years.
The Diversion program is designed to help seniors get the services they need to continue living at home or in an assisted living facility. Amerigroup works exclusively through publicly funded programs such as Medicaid and Medicare.
Visiting Sweet Water were Kristina Di Ilio, Provider Relations Representative for Amerigroup Community Care, Long Term Care Diversion; and Laura Withrow, Case Manager Supervisor. Their visit took place June 29.
"Kristina Di Ilio has been in the healthcare industry since 1996 on every side of the spectrum and has been with Amerigroup for four years," said Kory Stoeckle, Sweet Water owner and Administrator. "Laura Withrow has worked in the long-term care industry since 1992 as a nursing home Social Worker and Admissions Director and has been with Amerigroup for four years."
In addition to visiting with the Stoeckles, Di Ilio and Withrow also toured the Sweet Water facility. Afterwards, the Amerigroup representatives left tri-folds and brochures in both English and Spanish about the program.

The Largo-based assisted living facility was one of the pioneers in the Tampa Bay area in terms of becoming involved in the "Long Term Care Diversion Waiver" program.
Eligibility requirements include:
Must be age 65 or older. Enrolled in Medicare parts A and B. Meet clinical eligibility requirements, such as needing help with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, transferring or walking/mobility or having a chronic condition requiring nursing services). Meet the financial eligibility requirements (Medicare-eligible up to Institutional Care Program level).
