The joint venture Abbymex is announced by Abbey Color Inc. and Mexicana de Extractos International, S. A. de C. V. to provide a consistent supply of logwood extract used in the production of hematoxylin and hematine. Hematoxylin is a key ingredient in stains used by biological laboratories for Pap smear tests and hematine is used to dye medical sutures.
