Florida Drug Treatment Center Gives The Personal Touch

Florida Drug Treatment Center Gives The Personal Touch

Recently in the news, groundbreaking research has begun seeking to analyze the nature of addiction from an evidence-based approach in order to determine more accurately what interventions work best for whom and under what conditions. However good this may sound, in the case of addiction we cannot wait for a 'check in the mail.' The Ambrosia Treatment Center of Florida has, since their opening, provided a hands-on approach to their clients, tailoring their services to the clients needs, and continues to go the extra mile when a 'personal touch' is needed on the road to recovery and independent living.

"I read today in the news that there is groundbreaking research occurring in West Palm Beach, Fl that seeks to define and answer major questions about the disease of addiction (http://www. ambrosiatreatmentcenter. com/index. php), treatment, and recovery -- for example, actually diagnosing the "'presence of addiction and predictability of relapse through evaluation of certain hormone and neuropeptide biomarkers.' What does this mean for those afflicted with addiction? It means greater support for recovering from addiction and not returning to it, especially in the first year, after seeking treatment. However, although exciting movements are occurring in the study of drug dependency, Florida-based drug treatment centers, such as the Ambrosia Treatment Center are already conducting 'evidence-based' practices in order to determine with more accuracy what "interventions work best for whom and under what conditions." (Dr. Barbara Krantz, Hanley Center CEO and Medical Director)

The Ambrosia Treatment Center was created to provide drug rehabilitation (http://www. ambrosiatreatmentcenter. com/drug-rehab. php) and recovery while combating substance abuse in the United States, specifically in their Florida area. Although they carry already a diverse and wide menu of treatment services, the Ambrosia Treatment Center seeks more to "provide services in accordance with the needs of the client as identified in a [personalized] drug rehab/treatment plan." Concepts such as these are inclusive of a Day/Night Drug Rehab Treatment with Community Housing program where patients are monitored 24 hours a day with the knowledge that they will not receive treatment on the grounds they live. The separation of treatment and personal living with housing allows for the development and transition from substance abuse back to recovery and independent living.

Yet as understood in drug abuse treatment the presence of addiction may not be the same for each individual. A Community Housing program may not be necessary for everyone. Furthermore, without unlimited community housing space, some afflicted with severe degrees of addiction may not be able to receive the proper drug abuse treatment necessary for proper recovery. That's why the Ambrosia Treatment Center also provides an Intensive Outbound Treatment Program (http://www. ambrosiatreatmentcenter. com/drug-rehab-outpatient-treatment. php) for those that are still in need of drug rehabilitation in order to combat chemical dependency. Furthermore, the Intensive Outbound Treatment Program can work wonders in the first year of recovery process for those who were in need of community housing. Through this program each client is guaranteed at least nine hours of services from the Ambrosia Treatment Center a week. And, although Ambrosia may not be staffed to address primary mental health problems, they do work with their clients to find these services through consultation and referral programs--already tendering fully developed formal agreements with health and mental health professionals for the provisioning of such services.

Regardless though of what discoveries in West Palm Beach in addiction research are made, no amount of research will alleviate the incredible financial losses that are too often incurred through substance abuse (http://www. ambrosiatreatmentcenter. com/substance-abuse-treatment. php). The Ambrosia Treatment Center tackles this issue head-on through all of their programs when providing drug abuse treatment by providing employment and educational support services to assist clients in becoming financially independent. Drug addiction and personal finances can act as a horrible marriage with a joint bank account. Sometimes the most important step to recovery is removing the drug from that account.

Exciting movements are occurring today with researching the nature of addiction. However, we should not sit on our hands and wait for the results to come in. Alcoholism and drug abuse is a debilitating disease. And, with any evidence-based method, it requires a hands-on approach -- an approach the Ambrosia Treatment Center knows all too well.
