Atlanta, (PRWEB) August 27, 2005

President and CEO, Jordan Rice announced that his medical practice management firm, I-Med, LLC, (www. i-medllc. com) has partnered with Innovative Capital of Canton to open 20 urgent care and occupational medical centers in Metro Atlanta and has formed Immediate MedCare, LLC with I-Med as controlling partner.

Immediate MedCare will open its first center in Woodstock on GA 92 on October 29th and plans to open sites in Roswell, Alpharetta, Midtown, Buckhead, Douglasville, Gwinnett Place Mall, Towne Center, Eagles Landing, Conyers and Cumming to name just a few of the planned sites. Executives are currently meeting with numerous area emergency, urgent care, occ-med, family practice and internal medicine Board Certified physicians in these areas who will be center directors with some ownership in both the business and real estate facilities. Since the physicians have ownership in the individual centers, I-Med executives have doctors from all over the nation contacting them to be partners.

The CFO of I-Med, Calvin Stansell III, is currently coordinating efforts to find bank partners who will finance each site independently and allow physicians to own their office individually but have the security of being part of a larger group using HIPAA-compliant, paperless systems. These systems include electronic medical records, automated billing, on-line appointment scheduling and area advertising on TV, radio and through print media. Immediate MedCare has raised funding commitments of $15,000,000 to date and will be referring to top specialists and hospitals in the area.

Immediate MedCare centers offer an upscale alternative to long waits in emergency rooms or primary care physician’s offices. Both in design and service, Immediate MedCare centers are committed to bringing health care to a new level of comfort and quality, with cable TV in the exam rooms and free refreshments, including Starbucks coffee, in large, well-appointed reception areas. “Patients will always feel like VIPs,” according to Mr. Rice. The implementation of high-tech, paperless, communications systems cuts down on billing and medical errors and gives the doctor and staff more “face time” with the patients. This also controls costs for patients and corporate HR executives of companies who purchase membership in Immediate MedCare. Reducing the cost of care allows these upscale centers to be competitive alternatives to expensive insurance plans for small business. Centers are open 7 days a week and generally keep ‘mall hours’. They offer an innovative Pre-Paid Membership plan for businesses and families for as low as $39 a month and with a normal visit cost of $25, but no more than $50 for a complicated procedure.

Jordan Rice, former delegate to the United Nations, worked on the first global medical informatics initiatives, operated the 1st paperless medical office in the state of Georgia, and was the only person ever to keynote at both COMDEX and Internet World on medical informatics. His pioneering work on urgent care medicine and healthcare informatics continues to revolutionize the health care industry. I-Med can be reached at 404-467-4440.
