Gene Barduson was recently named executive chairman of the board of directors for PerfectServe, a clinical communications company currently serving 13,000 physicians in hospitals and practices nationwide.

Barduson is an information technology industry expert with over three decades of experience leading, growing and managing healthcare and technology companies.

Barduson started his career with IBM, spent several years in the CAD/CAM industry, and then moved to an executive position with Shared Medical Systems Inc. (SMS), now part of Siemens, AG.

In 1996, Barduson became president and chief executive officer of EDiX Corporation where he grew revenue to over $100 million over a five-year period.

In 2001, Barduson was elected chairman and chief executive officer of Apexion Technologies, Inc., which supplied software, hardware and services to hospitals using bar-coding and RFID technologies to manage the supply chain. Two years later, he was named president and chief executive officer of Alteer Corporation, which sold software for physician practices. Alteer was purchased by American Health in 2007.

Barduson also currently serves on the board of directors of Benchmark, Heartland Information Services, and Vesatek. He is on the board of trustees of Western University of Health Sciences.
