The Mitchellville School of Math, Science and Technology, located in Bowie, Maryland, will host their second annual Student/Parent Educational Conference during American Education Week. TMS students will plan, implement, and experience a conference where family, friends, community leaders, and academicians will exemplify a strong commitment to the NEA Great Schools Movement.

The Mitchellville School of Math, Science and Technology, located in Bowie, Maryland, will host their second annual Student/Parent Educational Conference during American Education Week. TMS students will plan, implement, and experience a conference where family, friends, community leaders, and academicians will exemplify a strong commitment to the NEA Great Schools Movement.

Conference Theme: "Greatness by Design: Preparing Responsible Leaders for Unlimited Career/Business Opportunities."

Who: Dr. Lewis Anthony, Keynote Speaker

Dr. Anthony is a veteran of civic and public affairs with a long involvement in public services and advocacy. He is recipient of numerous awards and citations, including citations from two former U. S. Presidents; the Van Am Prize Medal of Columbia University, the Distinguished Public Service Award of DC, and the Grassroots Award for Community Service of the Southern Christian Leadership Council. Dr. Anthony holds a Doctorate Degree from Harvard University.

Ms. Celi Marie Dean, Miss Black USA 2005, Celebrity Guest

Since being crowned Miss Black USA, radio, television, newspaper interviews, appearances and local schools, keep her busy speaking on her platform “Education-A Degree of Importance.” Setting an example for her siblings, as well as other youth, Celi makes it her top priority to emphasize the importance and seriousness of having a good education. She produced a brochure, which offers information and encourages youth to set goals, eat healthy, get involved in their community and make relationships with teachers and other mentors.
